Ehen..ah..want to ask a question, was your car vibrating at anytime before this happened. I noticed an usual vibration of the car when idle
Not vibrating. I stopped to get something. Car refused to start. Engine was finding it difficult to roll. Tried with my friends car battery, same thing. After like 45 minutes it started. Same thing happened the next day on my way home. After that, it refused to start till I changed the kickstarter.

Hello, what could be wrong. My E320 w211 won't start, I drove somewhere today and everything was fine on my for me to enter my car to leave and the car starts rolling as if there is no petrol inside. I poured like 8liters inside but the car won't start, initially it was doing like it was going to start but the *slow* was so weak and it later went of since then it just rolls and nothing happens,so I just parked the car there so as not to kill the battery. Please what could be wrong..can it be spark plug issue?
Hope it is not a starter issue. I experienced same on my acura last two weeks. I had to change the kickstarter and all is well now.

Car Talk / Re: What Event Motivates You To Learn How To Drive? by vivalavida(m): 2:20pm On Dec 07, 2023
Buying my car motivated me. Prior to buying it, I didn't know how to drive. I bought it and my younger brother was driving it alongside his own. It was that night that I bought it that I spent time on YouTube as a driver learner. I then proceeded to driving school. Used the period of waiting for my drivers license to attend driving school. And then I went to pick the car from my brothers place with a colleague. He drove. When we got to my area, he dropped and said oya do it now. I drove home.

Reading your story made me remember my dad's GL. It was his first ever car bought at the age of 27 as a medical doctor. Everyone in my family still remembers the plate number of that car. Infact,my younger brother had to cusomse that plate number and uses it in his benz E350 now. What a solid car. My dad use to drive it as a corper from his PPA in oyo sate to visit his uncle in bauchi. The man loved road trips a lot.

Passenger luggages is not even the issue, did you hear the prices? And with the way it's going gas prices will climb up to the mountains very soon and you will now start thinking of how to convert back to petrol. That one na wahala be that. You can even go a whole day without picking a passenger with luggage. Worse comes to worst i decline the trip . And besides the cylinder cannot take all the space in your car even if you are driving a Suzuki Expresso.

Hope you know CNG is different from cooking gas which is LPG?
Car Talk / Re: Things You Didn't Know About Evs by vivalavida(m): 11:20am On Nov 26, 2023
DomPerignon:
1. No EV manufacturer or EV subsidiary of a conventional car manufacturer has ever posted a profit. No, Tesla and the entire Musk operation has never posted a profit since it's inception. Conventional car companies lose money making EVs.

2. EV batteries account for as much as 80-85% of cost of manufacturing EV cars.

3. EV batteries have a shelf life and depreciation in battery life and quality is one slippery slope. Once the batteries go out, it will cost as much as buying a conventional luxury car to have them replaced.

4. EV batteries constantly discharge even when parked and turned off. The batteries require climate control to keep them warm in winter and cool in hot climate. You are not going to escape battery shelf life by keeping the car parked.

5. Manufacturing EV batteries have more environmental footprints than drilling for oil. Those rare earth metals locked in the Congo rainforest need heavy equipment running on so-called fossil fuels to mine. Large swaths of rain forests are depleted to get to those rare earth metals. Huge amounts of water are used in both mining and refining Rare earth metals . The waste waters end up polluting the ecosystem irreparably.

6. EV batteries need power from conventional power plants to charge. Solar panels and wind turbines will not cut it. You need 240volts charging port that will be generated from coal , gas , nuclear powered stations or from Dams.

7. Spent EV batteries are a pain in the ass in disposing off. No one has a clue on how to safely dispose of them. They most likely will end up in land fills. Now imagine the entire planet switches to EVs and imagine how that will be a problem because conventional ICE cars can easily have every component recycled including the engine.

8. You will never see an EV heavy duty truck, trailer .

But there is an Electric aeroplane. How are you sure we won't see an EV heavy duty truck?

LAW AND PRACTICE, TWO STREAMS FLOWING IN DIFFERENT CHANNEL.

Theoretically n practically, it doesn't matter whether u verify the C of O before u contract the building; because, ownership of land in Nigeria is vested in the government (as stipulated in the Land Use Act). Therefore, any excuse stated before the said demolition is just for formality n to sympathize with the public. Govt go claim any land anywhere.

Wonderfully, the Land Use Act made stipulation for "adequate compensation". Whence, it's rightful for the govt to claim or reclaim any land and it's also rightful for the govt to compensate the owner. But what does the law mean by "adequate"?

Practically, govt will demolish a building worth hundredth of millions and compensate the owner in thousands.

During Obasanjo regime, the govt claimed some land and compensate the owners with #10,000 naira, they rejected it for heaven sake!!!. Late Gani( the oracle of the law) challenged the govt n sue her to court for inadequate compensation, after series of appeal, the Court, while interpreting the clause, opined that, the govt is not to be tied down with any specific amount (govt is at will to give any amount as compensation) to come finish common man, court say compensation is not a right but a privilege.... imagine that ...
Well, I forget the case law n I'm not sure if we have a new judicial interpretation now.(moreso, if Dem justice Niki Tobi (the golden voice n interpreter of the law couldn't muscle something better, I doubt the current system)
But, the Niger-deltans n govt (during the same Obasanjo regime) is also a case study of this abuse of our common right.

To our TENANCY LAW IN NIGERIA,
What clauses is actually contained in "agreement n commission" that we pay hugely for?
Did we take our time to input a clause in the agreement that will serve as authority for us before the court of law to hold the landlord to pay for damages we incur for premature termination of a binding contract?
Whatever the case maybe, the landlord have a suitable defence (the "doctrine of frustration "wink
If the court should acquaint this defense ehn.....hmmm
Moreso, "Nemo dat quod non habet" he can't give what he don't have oo.

Government dey insensitive to all this issues o.
Ideally, the govt ought to give "adequate compensation" to landlord, and from that "adequate compensation" ehn, landlord go settle tenants...

Conclusively, in a State, ruled by law, all this issues na small thing...but Nigeria isn't ruled by law. Few weeks back, the Court issued a restraining order say make NLC no go strike, NLC disregard the Court order with contempt and proceed with the strike, funny enough, judiciary joined the strike...what a ridicule.

In such situation, the first thing to do, na to pack ur property exit that building to avoid double wahala....if u have extra coin, u could take a lawyer, perhaps, the case could usher in a new era in our legal system. We all hope for that.
God bless Nigeria.

Enjoyed reading this.

If you look naija history you would know that
Igbos wont vote yoruba to power.
Yorubas wont vote igbo to power
hausa prefer to vote yoruba or other tribe to power than to vote igbos

Until we can rewrite those hatred from the past , omo na so we go dey circle around. Tribalism and politics is inseparable in Nigeria.

last election the three major tribes tested their might by voting for their brother, the one wey get ground work and sabi politics won.

I no wan dey talk naija matter, e no really worth the time. Make God sha dey bless us him pikin.

You need to study that your history well bro. Igbos voted massively for Obasanjo in both elections he contested. So I don't get what history you are talking about. Igbos have voted for a yoruba, voted for an hausa man, voted for an ijaw man. That your so called history of this tribe will not vote for this tribe or that tribe does not apply in any way to igbos.

Hehehe this life is funny sha, these places you're afraid of are the same places many people are very comfortable with. Most of these places are just along that straight stretch of road from orile to badagry. I understand work is still ongoing on the road but they have gone very far.

What exactly do drivers fear going to these routes? Is it Lastma, Vio, frsc, traffic or just plain bad roads?

Unless seeing passengers taking you back out is the phobia I don't see why the excessive fear. Truth is that all those state government's forces that terrorise motorists in most other parts of lagos are very laid back and relaxed along that lagos - badagry axis for the usual taxis and private vehicles. Only those hauling goods get jittery and for good reason (customs checkpoints)

The only major places I know where you're likely to jam wereys are between mile2 and maza-maza first gate (VIO Office on service lane), between Alakija bridge and Barracks (FRSC office on service lane) and at Okokomaiko/iyana-oba (LASTMA at that under bridge turning towards iyana-school/igando) but all in all those ones at these axis aren't as strict as the ones you usually jam at other places in lagos.

When it comes to traffic the major places to watch out for are at volks/alaba and trade fair sides going towards mile2 between the hours of 4:30pm - 6pm (because of traders closing from market) and passing Satellite town on the days when tankers are loading petroleum products from the oil depots because they might cause slight traffic between trade fair and abule-ado where they park and queue, then just before Finaija/Dantata bus stop (between abule-ado and alakija) where they have to turn into ijegun to load their fuel, kero and diesel. If its about bad roads then its unless you're going towards and passing ijanikin you'd encounter it where I'm sure the road work is still ongoing.

Well maybe it's because I've been living along this axis since the day I was born that's why it's very comic seeing drivers groan about coming here. I swear if I was driving on ehailing and I encountered any passenger coming towards this side I will first groan because of the location like you guys always do just to get them to take the trip offline so I can hammer full time and very comfortably grin

I even see residents here complaining that most ehailing drivers don't agree to come to festac/Satellite and I smile. Maybe it's because this is mostly a residential part of the state hence it will be mostly easier to get trips out in the mornings and back in the evenings.

Funny enough, I have lived òn same route most part of my ife. My office is around same area too. I did è-hailing briefly last year. No time will I switch on my bolt or indrive app without getting a ride. Most times the ride takes me to the island. There are always ride. The main road has even been completed which makes it all better. At least from my base in iyana-isashi to either mile 2 or egbeda can be done without breaking a sweat except for minor traffic at igando on that egbeda route. As far as it is rides, there are always rides.

And i want to paint my Accord to that color. But. Confused I don’t know how to explain it.

The type of black colored cars i keep seeing around i don’t like them. The dull black gray i like that too.

Does any one here know of something like that that black navy blue color?

Google matte black cars and see if that's what you mean.
