Even if u don't do ehailing, u must learn how to drive and get a DL as an adult man. If and when u have ur DL and u are now perfect in driving, and u still haven't had a stable source of income, then u can look for a car and do ehailing. Knowledge of road is d least of your concerns right now. Funny enough, i bought my car middle april of 2022 without knowing how to drive talkless of drivers license. I dropped the car with my youger bro who knew how to drive. He was driving his own and mine. I went to a driving school for two weeks. Then i and a friend went to pick the car. Then sef my driving license never come out. I knew when police checkpoint closes around my area. So i started driving to work. After like three weeks, my temporary driving license came out. i used it to register on bolt and indrive sometime in june. No one knew i just started driving that car around middle of may. Had no accident. The only issue i even had was understanding how to use the google map fully which i later understood. |

Hello guys, i am having an issue with my car. it is a 2008 acura tsx with an automatic transmission. It actually started recently. At cold start, when i switch to reverse, it wont move till i step on the throttle and then you hear this low thud and it moves. once you start driving it, you wont feel that issue again untill you park it for a long time say over night. I has no driveability problems and this issue happens only during reverse at cold start. i have checked the transmission fluid and it still looks okay. I serviced it last july of 2022 with honta atf dw-1. I have taken it to a scan center seeing that my personal scanner is a small one and cant read transmission codes and it was scanned. it didnt throw up any code. i am confused on what to do next. 1) should i drain the fluid and change it and the filter? that might involve bringing the gear down as the filter as i learnt is inside the gear. 2) i spoke with a gear mechanic i saw one day working at ladipo. he says he works on only honda gears and was actually working on that of a pilot when i saw him. he is yet to see the vehicle but said he suspects it is the gear selector switch that might be having an issue.
i need suggestions from anyone who has had this sort of experience. |

haykay2005: Pls,
I recently bought a 2006 Honda Civic, and one of the first things I noticed is that the fan is connected directly. My scan result also shows two codes — P2413 and P2185. I usually scan my car and tell my mechanic what to fix based on the codes generated, and that approach has been working for me.
Now, he agrees with me on the first code, which relates to the EGR, but he doesn’t want to return the fan to its factory setting. I’d rather have that done elsewhere.
I need a good mechanic around the Ogba/Abule Egba axis who can sort this out for me. I don’t want to argue with this Azeem. I understand gassuz doesn’t like working on this car.

RyanAutomotive: Short answer: that “leg-pull” you keep seeing is most often what mechanics call torque-steer / a pulling/jerk under acceleration, not a mysterious brand curse. It’s common on FWD cars and can show up on Hondas, Toyotas and Lexus alike.
What usually causes it (things to suspect and check) • Uneven drive forces (driveshaft/CV setup), worn suspension bushings, ball-joints or tie-rods. • Worn engine/transmission mounts, bad CV joints, uneven/defective tyres or alignment, dragging brake or wheel-bearing issues. • In Nigeria people also report aftermarket/substandard suspension/steering parts (ball-joints/control arms) making the problem show up more.
Which car to pick (practical view) • Camry 2013 — solid, easier/cheaper to maintain in Nigeria, fewer surprises if well inspected. • Honda 2015/2016 (direct Belgium) — generally reliable, but some owners report torque-steer/jerk complaints on certain models — so insist on a clean PPI and road-test. • Lexus ES350 — more refinement (and price); same mechanical family as Toyota so still can show the same symptoms if worn. If you want the safest bet for low headache Camry or a properly-inspected Lexus if budget allows — but the deciding factor is the condition and service history, not the badge.
Pre-purchase checklist (must-do before import) 1. Get the VIN and full service/accident history; verify odometer. 2. Ask for a video of a road-test showing acceleration, straight line at 20–80 km/h and steering feel. 3. Insist on a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) that checks: suspension (ball joints, control arms, bushings), engine/trans mounts, CVs, brake drag, wheel bearings, tyres, alignment and ECU fault codes. 4. Check for heavy aftermarket parts (replace with OEM where possible) and underbody rust/damage. 5. If you see pulling on the road-test, ask the inspector to isolate: swap tyres left↔right, check play in steering/suspension, and test with load to reproduce the pull.
Final practical tip: don’t reject a good model just because of hearsay — buy based on inspection results. If you want, send the VIN(s) and any road-test clips you have; we can run a checklist and advise whether to import or pass.

Hello @milanseedorf,
You have run into a problem specific to older vehicles or certain foreign models (like the Asia-spec Corolla) that don't use the standard 17-digit VIN.
Your thinking was smart—padding the VIN with zeros is the correct way to get past the initial form validation. However, the system's database automatically flags any VIN that isn't in the standard 17-digit format for **mandatory physical verification.**
**There is no online solution to bypass this.** This is a security measure.
**Here is your path forward:** 1. The "Go for physical verification" message is now your official instruction. You have done everything you can online. 2. Proceed with the application. Pay the permit fees online via Remita. 3. After payment, wait for an SMS or email inviting you to the State Police Command you selected. 4. When you go, make sure you bring all your original vehicle documents, as they will need to manually inspect the car and the chassis number to confirm its identity.
This is not an error on your part; it's just the required process for your specific type of vehicle. You are on the right track.
—EAZYINFOGUIDE™, simplifying the permit process. good day. i am having a challenge. i have applied for my car via virtual verification and have gooten the permit. i am trying to help a colleague do his own and everytime i put in all the details and click on submit, i keep getting VIN not valid. i have run the vin on www.epicvin.com and it is correct. i have used chatgpt to verify the vin and it is correct. what can be the issue? |

reverendfather: For the past one week, My Honda Accord has been doing hard starting, especially in the mornings and whenever it is parked for more than 5 minutes. The issue began after I replaced the speed sensors. During scanning, the car showed a misfire, so the mechanic worked on the injectors and installed brand new NGK spark plugs. The car started immediately afterward, was test-driven, and all warning lights (check engine, brake, VSA, ABS) cleared.
I drove home without problems, but the next morning it refused to start. The engine kept cranking and the green key light kept on blinking as if it did not recognize my key. It eventually started after several attempts and idled normally. Later that day at work, the same thing happened again. After the second crank, the check engine light came on. My scanner showed codes P060A and P1659, both pointing to ECU issues.
I researched and found out that other Accord 2008 - 2012 owners encountered similar problems as soon as they changed their sparkplugs, some went ahead to replace their ECU but the fault persisted. They suggested changing sparkplugs, I did that this evening - problem still on, another suggested getting a new battery, I did that too still no fix. One suggested getting back my old plugs, but we can't find the old plugs anymore
My mechanic is yet to suggest anything at the moment so I don't waste money anyhow.
I just dey regret bothering myself with fixing the vsa and the misfiring ever since. The hard start has embarrassed me on multiple occasions within the space of one week Who was ur plug gor the speed sensors? Is the person in lagos? How much did u get them? |

remi4ever: Hi tpain121, Macmilla has a good point. It's possible the replacement TPS is also faulty, or there's a wiring issue. Here are a few more things to consider:
1. **Throttle Body:** A dirty or faulty throttle body can also cause TPS-related codes. 2. **ECU:** In rare cases, the ECU itself might be the problem. 3. **Wiring Harness:** Check the entire wiring harness for any signs of damage or corrosion, not just the area around the sensor.
Since you're in Lagos, I'd recommend taking it to a reputable mechanic who has experience with Honda vehicles. They'll have the right diagnostic tools to figure out the exact problem. I hope you get it sorted out soon! why don't you quote the person you wanna respond to? |

stokfrick: Pls where can I get a very good rewire to check my car for parasitic drain. I was driving my car and parked to ease myself. After that, When I tried restarting the car it refused to start. But the dashboard screen light on the driver's side would come on. The red battery icon light was showing steady. I called my mechanic and he said the alternator is faulty and not charging the battery. We changed alternator and the battery light disappeared and the car started.
After a few days, one morning I dove to work, parked it. After close of work wanted to drive home and it refused to start, called a battery charger, he said battery was down we jump started the car, I got home, parked, then the following day car refuses to start. Called my mechanic he said could be the battery is bad or a drain on the battery while car is parked. But I also noticed that if I restarted the car 5 minutes after parking, it would start except when left for long hours before restarting.
What could be the problem. Secondly I have heard of how rewire guys turn simple electrical faults onto complex ones, so, I am scared. If it's a parasitic drain is it a simple problem that the average rewire guy can handle?
Finally if I am to get a new battery what best brands should I go for Your kick-starter is going bad. |

Easyinfoguide: @vivalavida, you’re absolutely right — that ₦14,200 shows up for almost everyone who applies, regardless of the reason selected.
But here’s the real gist: ✔️ The POSSAP portal auto-generates that same ₦14,200 invoice for all categories — even if you select “factory-fitted,” “medical,” or “security.” ✔️ What actually determines your final processing and approval often comes after payment — during document upload and internal screening. That’s when your reason and supporting docs matter most (e.g. medical report, proof of factory tint, etc).
Many people don’t realize the ₦14,200 fee is just the beginning — and depending on the state or officer in charge, other “hidden” steps or delays may pop up.
That’s part of why I compiled the full steps (and real-life examples) into a guide — so people don’t get stuck or end up paying multiple times unnecessarily.
If you need clarity before you proceed with payment, I can share what to expect depending on your state and tint reason. It’ll save you time, trust me. So how do I avoid paying it seeing that mine is factory tinted. When I get to that page, what should I do? |
Car Talk › Re: How I Registered My Tinted Glass Permit In Nigeria (2025 Guide) by vivalavida(m): 3:04pm On Jun 08, 2025 |
Easyinfoguide: Great question!
As of now, applying for the Police Tinted Glass Permit is completely free of charge on the official Nigerian Police portal. You don’t have to pay ₦14,700 or any yearly fee for the permit itself.
However, here's where some confusion may come from:
₦14,700 is often related to Police Character Certificate or other services — not the Tinted Permit.
Some applicants end up paying “agents” or “facilitators” who handle the process for them, and that’s where fees like ₦10k–₦50k+ come in depending on whether it’s a full service, bypass, or non-appearance package.
To clarify: ✅ Officially Free? Yes, the permit application itself is free. ✅ One-off or Yearly? It's not a yearly payment — once you get the permit, you're covered. ✅ Medical Report or Reason for Tint? That may be needed (e.g. for health reasons) and could cost extra.
Let me know if you want a step-by-step guide or help to apply directly. This your info dey somehow oo On twitter, the police handle tweeted that wether factory tint or not, as far as there is tint, it is #14,200 I am wondering where you got this your own narrative from. I did the application and chose factory tinted yet I was given a bill of #14,200 to pay on the possap.ng website page. Although I have not paid yet. |
