I have a small Bluetooth scanner. To scan ABS,transmission,SRS and TPMS, I sought out a guy in my area who does this with a high end scanner.

I have had my car for a year and 4 months now. I have tried tackling most of the lights that appear anytime on the dashboard. But I have never attempted the ABS light that has been there with it abinitio. Yesterday I decided to scan the ABS and got the following result. What should I do? Change the sensors or the ABS itself?

Good morning bro, do you have a car? If you do, you'll know getting an expert AC specialist is very difficult. So I'd advise you pick what is useful from my post. Have a great week ahead. PS my AC is still very chilly.
Dosent change the fact that this must be a marketing gimmick. What stops you from posting the story in one place? Also, why didn't you call out the nairaland technician? If you can't name him so that he can come and clear the air, then your story is as fictitious as they come.

This advice is false, please disregard it.

I drive an 2007 RDX with Tech Package. The Tech package adds a better sound system with more information on your dash and navigation screens.

Basic electrical components are still the same. I've had my car for 3 years now and I've not had any electrical issues. Main thing to keep an eye out for is poor mileage due to the bad (low octane rating petrol) we have in Nigeria.

I suspect this gent got a defective ride and believes it a problem with the Tech Package by default

The RDX is fun to drive!

I concur with you. I drive a 2008 acura tsx tech package. No issue whatsoever and its been a year and 3 months I have owned it.

When I experienced something like that, it was my alternator.

The brush of the alternator had depleted. So, the battery sign was showing intermittently on the dashboard. I kept ignoring it.

Then one day, the battery sign just remained permanently. I drove to the electrician straight and got there just before the battery died (because it was no longer charging). And the electrician changed the brushes of the alternator and it was fixed.

I have suggested checking the brush to my rewire but he just wants me to buy a new alternator without checking anything.

Check your wiring harness and wires going to be alternator for breach.
Also check for alternator related fuses that is not sitting well.
As long as you're always getting 14volts and not some crazy high or low voltage, your alternator is presumed fine.

Thanks a lot. What are the alternator related fuses I can check or tell a rewire to check? The one I met is just telling me to buy a new alternator and he does not even have a simple multimeter to check anything. Just carrying wires and tester and bulb up and down.

How are you sure you bought the right thermostat for your engine? Thermostats have different temperatures when they open and close depending on the manufacturer specifications. I hope you didn’t buy another vehicles thermostat and install inside your engine. It can cause it’s own issues.

As for the battery light coming up and going off by itself I will guess it’s a fault from your alternator (intermittent low charge) or your serpentine belt slipping/worn out. Checking the belt is easy but an auto electrician will need to test the alternator to know if indeed it’s outputting a lower voltage exactly when that battery light is on in your dash cluster.

Thanks for your reply. For the thermostat, I got it from my plug at ladipo and what he sent was a honda 2.4L K-series engine thermostat with the housing.

I will do as suggested for the second part on the alternator.

Speaking from experience right?
Diagnoses can be tricky with limited tools.

Biko I need help here. On Saturday I went to fix back the thermostat in my car due to fuel consumption issues. After I left there, my battery warning light came up. Since Saturday, it comes and goes. For example throughout yesterday, I didn't see it but while driving out to work this morning, it came up again. When it comes up, I get a check charging system warning on my instrument cluster. I don't have a multimeter to check the battery voltage but while driving, my scanner is always plugged on and it keeps giving me battery reading of 14volts at least. I dont have hard starting issues. So what could be wrong? I drive an Acura TSX 2008 model.
