What you need is the determination to succeed. I was over over 40 when I left Nigeria for Germany for my masters degree in 2019. Graduated in 2021 and got a good job and the rest is history. I actually resigned from a well paying job in the oil and gas sector in 2019 and have never regretted my decision. Remembering and accepting that I had to work twice as hard was the driving force I needed to propel me to greatness.

Be focused and chase your dreams wholeheartedly and everything will align in your favour. I wish you the very best.

What are my options pls?

My name is vivianobas and I have been away from Nairaland for almost two years studying for a Masters degree in Germany and finished my program in June 2021. I am currently working for a recruitment firm called TalentDiverse EU. We have the below opening and I decided to post it here since our client is interested in a diverse workforce and the job can be done remotely. if anyone is interested, reach out to me so that I can take you through the process. I know we also have professionals among us

What we are looking for

For this role, we are looking for someone who has extensive practical experience with building and maintaining systems with Amazon Web Services (AWS), ideally with services such as Elastic Compute Cloud, Virtual Private Cloud, and Aurora.

⚙️ Our infrastructure stack is based on Terraform and Kubernetes. This role requires you to have extensive professional experience in these technologies, ideally having built and maintained a multi-region cloud infrastructure setup.

You care about the people you work with and you are willing to grow together. You also care about the wider team and you want to work on a service that adds value for others.

We work together very closely and with short feedback cycles, both within our team and towards our peers.

You proactively seek to support and collaborate with others, not just when you’re stuck, but also whenever you can lend a hand. We are largely self-organized, so we require you as our teammate to proactively come forward and take the lead at times without being explicitly told to do so.

My dear wonderful family, my package finally arrived yesterday evening via DHL.

My special thanks goes to God Almighty for his unending love and faithfulness.

My testimony will not be complete if I don't mention all those who walked with me on this journey. Heybaby my sister from another mother, Fabcol who was always willing to help and advice me. Ahmed who funded my block account and restored my trust in humanity/ Nigerians. Stateboy8080 who was ever willing to render a helping hand plus all the numerous Nairalanders who shared in my joy, pain and confusion. Your collective selflessness has made this group the envy of all.

For everyone waiting for AD, AM and Visum at this point, I pray that God Almighty will perfect everything that concerns each and everyone of you in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Special greetings to everyone who sacrifices time to respond to queries endlessly. May God bless you all.

vivianobas:
My dear Nairalanders, please can I ask someone to drop off my documents after receiving AM? If yes, how do I go about it?

For the sake of my wonderful people here who applied to BSBI, I pray everything is resolved speedily in Jesus name. Amen.

If the issue has been resolved, how do we now explain the content of Cooltony's mail? Anyways, it will end in praise to the Glory of God.

ShinaLe:

Information from the school is that it has been resolved.

The guy only asked if a mail requesting for insurance indicates that his visa has been approved.

Have you heard from him since? Msticks come and clear this whole bruhaha o.

My very first admission was from BSBI. The way Nissi and his team followed me up gave me cause for concern and I jejely looked for other schools to apply to.

Anytime they called my phone it was always showing Scam. I borrow leg run and didn't know it was God directing me to my Canaan.

ShinaLe:

Exactly

Did you also read about a guy who said his visa was denied cos the school had issues at the time?

Though he stated that the issue had been resolved and he was asked to reapply but this new letter Cooltony received is not encouraging.

If the school has been flagged by authorities. Then the best thing for people to do at this time is to stay away first.

. A guy got his visa some few weeks ago.
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by vivianobas: 7:17pm On Sep 04, 2019
Maybe they have unresolved issues with the authority.

ShinaLe:

But BSBI is not the only foreign school in Germany. They grant Visas to other Foreign Schools
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by vivianobas: 7:01pm On Sep 04, 2019
People should stop applying to BSBI for now.

There is every likelihood that visas will not be granted for study in this school.

The embassy is concerned about students ability to pay school fees and the mandatory block account funding.

Also the school is not entirely a German school. I think it was established in Germany by a foreigner or foreigners.

My 5 cents though. Make una shine eye

hahaha. The rate I got for Ethiopian Airline was higher than that of Egypt Air and Turkish Airline.

eastafro:

bro , why don't you try Ethiopian airlines. I compared the price -quality on skyscanner.com and its cheap for the quality of service.
they use the new airbus , and it takes 9 hours only with one stop .
Egypt air is way cheaper but takes longer time .
PS: I'm from Addis Ababa so I might be biased .

Thank you for this info my brother.

Kenechill:

Egyptair books One way ticket. But u must show them the visa before booking. Don't mind people shoutin they don't.
Besides, I also confirmed that the five star hotel thingy, during lay over is sure.
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by vivianobas: 3:21pm On Aug 29, 2019
I used them in 2015 to Rome and their services was not so bad. I even spent 2 nights in Cairo then but the one way ticket thing is a different ball game.

Metronimos:

I'm actually considering this, but there's only been few good reviews on their service and all; hence, folks are not (very) confident about them like others.

So far, I think they offer the cheapest rate...

To think that their representative gave me rate for a one way ticket is deceptive when he knew they don't fly passengers with a one way ticket. Thank you guys for this information. I jump am pass in Jesus name!

They do. I spoke with them this morning

Someone mentioned that Egypt Air doesn't allow one-way ticket (I stand to be corrected).

Has anyone used or considered using Egypt Air?

I see everyone concentrating on just Turkish Air or is there a reason for this?

I have not even received the updated confirmation document from Fintiba as I just paid the deficit over the weekend.

I blocked 9,000 Euros initially and that is the one that the embassy has.

daviduzy:

Did you make the new BA payment and have you sent the new BA confirmation to the consulate?
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by vivianobas: 7:25am On Aug 26, 2019
I got same mail from Fintiba and they categorically stated that the balance should be transferred once.

Either send the full amount from your account or have your contact in Germany send it on your behalf.

Good luck!

Blessing360:
Good day all. Please I need advice on this, if anyway can help me of a way out. When my previous blocked amount was 8640, someone funded €1000 for me in Germany and fintiba said I have to complete the balance in one transaction.

Now I updated to the new amount of 10,236. I want to complete it in two different transaction. One from Germany and another from my dorm account.

The issue is fintiba wrote me that I can only make one more payment. Please can anyone help me on what to do? Note: the person in Germany cannot send to my dorm account because of very high tax &, charges.

It is the bitter truth! The frequent update of rules for Nigerian applicants plus the current fraud scandal concerning Nigerians in the US is a glaring pointer to the inability of Nigerians to get this much positive approvals in embassies, German Consulate inclusive.

I would advise all those gunning for winter 2020 semester to look for likely courses in the coming summer semester and apply.

Agbada go soon hook barbwire if you know what I mean!

I wish everyone luck.

Good morning House, Visa came in this morning, thank God. And the attached came with it.
So for anyone who has doubts the new funding requirement applies as long as your arrival time in Germany is after Sept 1, so your VO May require you to fund with the new amount.
Though I funded with the old one, I plan to top up before I leave.
Thanks
