loool@dump that stupid mtn/glo/airtel network. choiii....only few days u rubbish ur fifo like tis cheesy

Lawiiiii:
Funny enough, the immigration officers don’t have your time. I wasn’t asked any questions tbh. All I had to do was show my Passport and offer letter.
As for the accommodation in Limerick, I don’t have any information as regards that but I’d suggest you book a hostel or bnb close to your school for the meantime or send a mail to your school. They should be able to fix you up with something temporary.
Don’t be afraid, your phone will work here. All you need do is get an Irish sim (which is usually free) and dump that Stupid Glo/Mtn/Airtel network.

TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 2:14pm On Sep 01, 2019
That should be fees alone oo except our bro is from EU. Most TopUp programme fees I've seen is same as Masters fees...and then the cost of living....total avg shd be €20, 500

If na NUI Galway, would be much more than that

breezy147:
Lol well I suppose having 12,000 euros is sufficient as a self-sponsor if you are single and have no dependant.
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 2:10pm On Sep 01, 2019
Que 1 ----> You can sponsor yourself as long as your source of income can cater for your intended programme fees + cost of living expenses in Ireland (€7, 000)

Que 2 -----> PGD is equivalent to a Pre-Masters TopUp. Schools within institutions generally do list their entry rqdments for offered programmes. You can also mail the intending school of your choice in DIT to be sure if your qualifications meet their minimum entry requirements. Head to DIT site and Do some homework smiley

A case of €12, 000 should suffice?
• INIS Study Visa Guidelines require you or your sponsors to show proof of funds in your account that can cover both your fees and cost of living in Ireland. Do the maths and check what's in your account again....

What Else To Expect?
• Research and gather all the info you need above. Once you are sure you fit in, go ahead and apply for your dream programme. If given admission (offered a place), you accept and apply for your study visa.

Don't let anything stop you bro. Best of success!!!

Mrtonyeboh:
Please, I appreciate each and everyone of u. But I want to find out if anyone here can assist me on the following: 1) am a staff of National population commission, can my salary grant me access to stand as a self sponsor as I want to undergo a one year PGD in Dublin institute of technology. 2) this are my educational qualifications, HND in Civil engineering, Neco and NABTEB, do I stand a chance?. I believe that my statement of account for 6months is around € 12000 or more, what is the minimum balance am expected to have in my account before I apply. 3) is there any other thing(s) I should expect? Thanks u so much

Lerrrrrrrrrry:
Abeg who’s looking for shared room/apartment in Dublin? A responsible and focused person Biko

Dublin is cold small sha.
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz:
How do I go about getting admission? ----> Refer to Pages 1 - 5 of tis thread

Does Ireland offer spring admissions? Google and check individual Irish schools for admission timelines

How much should I budget? Varies depending on school. Check individual schools for fees/payment timelines. Average fees tis year is €13, 500. Schools like NUI Galway €17, 750. Some allow for instalmental payment others like NUI Galway dont (declined their offer "cos of that). Dont take my word though. Research individual schools for yourself.

Cost of living Estimate - €7, 000

Any cheap schools? You will be better off researching that out as well. Will say, not so cheap in the sense of being cheap smiley

Hope it helps bro. Best of success!!!

'Tis Irish Study Visa thing na prayer levels ooo cos it's beyond reasoning and logic to make folks go thru this for a student visa. By God's grace it will end in praise!!!

Hi Gossiplover,

No update yet. Yes, I am always tracking my parcel on UPS site.
Sadly, I am yet to get a response from the embassy about the completion of my application.

Regards.

TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 12:57pm On Aug 29, 2019
Edubond is €7, 000

Min Fee Payment - €6, 000 (visa application rqd) though some schools may require Non Eu students to pay in full before registration

Cost of Living Estimate is €7,000

The proof of funds in your account or that of your sponsor should be sufficient to take care of your cost of living and the balance of your fees (assuming you are making part payment)

If you are paying full fees, then bank statement and Edubond of €7000 is sufficient for cost of living estimate

Read more details on INIS Site under Study Visa section

When is your course start date? as you want take apply for visa now....and considering Irish Embassy turnaround time atmhuh

Best of success bro

obodooma:
Thanks, I just received the offer letter now..

please another question. can I do a bond of 3000 euro and have the balance in my account when apply for Visa?
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 8:01pm On Aug 28, 2019
Hmm...they have to step up their game. Turnaround time shouldn't exceed 28 - 30 days max for student visa.

....and then, they're asking way too much documentation for a study visa

Pelumos:
I dont think there is a need for sending many emails, they stated that they had much more applications this year so its not like they are doing it on purpose.
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 6:46pm On Aug 28, 2019

candyluv15:

Bros when did you submit your application?

Pelumos:
I have asked before and I am kindly asking again. Has anyone received visa after the intended travel date?
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 2:02pm On Aug 28, 2019
Yup...UCD.

Will look/ask around. If there's anything good and worth considering, will let you on

alusiala:
Alright you're also going to UCD that's nice! Hopefully we will all meet next week. I found some hostels on Booking.com
But the prices/availability is tough. Housing is really expensive in Dublin. I'll keep you posted.
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 3:04am On Aug 28, 2019
You can check off-campus accommodation options (daft.ie etc) under Incoming Student Menu in your UCD sisweb student account. You can also email UCD international for help. Their response time is great!!!

Another way around it might be to connect with guys/babes here schooling in Dublin area who's visas are ready and probably come up with something (temporary) to share cost pending when you guys can sort out your accommodation preferences on arrival in Dublin. Others in the forum already studying in the Dublin area can also help out.....

Be careful though....and for accommodation - always better to pay for what you can see (space offered and review of the tenancy contract). Best of success dude...still dey wait for my visasmiley)

alusiala:
Guys this accommodation thing is deadly. How are you guys doing it? I've been checking booking.com and all the properties there are either unavailable or very expensive. I need somewhere temporary to stay for like 1 week.

Excluding Alusiala & her friend, is there any new visa issued today to those who submitted their application in August? UCD, NUI Galway, WIT....+ other uni incoming students... huh
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 12:38pm On Aug 27, 2019
Are decisions mailed to the applicant first before change in one's tracking status? huh

TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 10:26am On Aug 27, 2019
I mailed you via nairaland ystday night. Did you see it? Will appreciate if you can respond to it. Needed 2 clarify a few things. Thanks

alusiala:
Not entirely true. My tracking number started with W, and I submitted in Abuja. You'll be able to track it only when UPS has picked your package up from the embassy (When they have given a visa decision).
At first, my tracking number wasn't working, and then on Sunday the UPS status finally changed.

August 5th Abuja

Pelumos:
When did you apply?
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 7:53pm On Aug 26, 2019
Congratulations...looking forward to mine as well

alusiala:
Hey, my visa was issued today. Submitted on August 9, some things out of my control delayed my submission. It got to the Embassy on August 14 (Because of Sallah holiday). Visa stamped August 23, so processing took around 9 days surprisingly. UPS delivered it this morning.

Going to University College Dublin. My friend submitted on August 5th and has gotten hers today as well.
TravelRe: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by vkyburnz: 7:48pm On Aug 26, 2019

Oseunseun:
I keep refreshing UPS website for any update, finally an update this evening that it's been picked up in Abuja. Other guys waiting can also check...
