And nobody can explain WHY tithing 'developed' some 400 years after pentecost. Looks like God was not yet done with Revelation, or He was awaiting Lear jets to be invented |
You regurgitated tired fickle arguments and I gladly returned favor Your mind is made up to stick to man made traditions at ALL costs Tithing expired along Pentecost Once again, tithing is a late-comer doctrine akin to Assumption of Mary, it is legalistic no different from Galatian Error of returning to Torah OLAADEGBU: You don't need to scan the internet for rebuttals, Russel Kelly's partner in crime has been on this thread spreading the gospel according to his master. Just tell us whether you are one of his disciples so that I don't have to waste my time responding to those whose minds are already made up and don't want to be confused with the facts. |
A handy rebuttal of EVERY of that http://www.tithing-russkelly.com/id172.html Sample this Sproul: When we think of tithing in Old Testament categories, we understand that the requirement involves returning to God the first fruits of one’s prosperity.Ever read Didache yourself? Once again, Tithe is not first fruits OLAADEGBU: You seem to be a late comer to this thread as this has been covered many pages back. Let me reproduce an article I posted addressing the issue at hand: |
No it doesn't There is no mention of tithing and let alone giving the same to the pastors. It contains first fruits though. Ireneus, Tertullius and Justin Matyr all spoke of giving in the primitive church and no mention of tithe. As a Christian, shouldn't you be bothered that tithing 10% of your income is a late-comer doctrine? OLAADEGBU: I don't know what you are looking for, at least it shows the principles of tithe and offering. |
Not all of it, what part tackles tithing? I gleaned this summary The Didache (c.a. 100 A.D.), also called The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles, contains numerous references to giving. In 1:5–6, the text discusses the sharing of resources among Christians. The only possible allusion to tithing could be the statement that giving should be done “according to the commandment.” However, since 1:6 says, “Let your charitable gift sweat in your hands until you know to whom you are giving it,” it appears that the Mosaic law of tithing is not the referent since responsibility is placed within the giver as to the worthiness of the recipient. The Didache exhorts Christians to be givers rather than takers (1:5; 4:5–8; 5:2; 15:4). It contains one statement similar to statements in Acts 2 and 4 about communalism (4:http://slaveoftheword..com/2006/03/tithing-in-ante-nicene-period-second.html Did they skip something? OLAADEGBU: Have you read the didache? |
Exactly what is that, and what is its scriptural basis if any? |
mbaemeka, MIRACLES are not heaven ticket and if I were you, I would examine myself instead of fighting Jesus very words There will be thousands of miracle workers in hell Do Christians sin? mbaemeka: Vooks, |
Adam's blood was equally human sir, where did it come from? THINK! ![]() Think for once, blood is for creatures. What is God who is Spirit doing with blood in heaven? Leviticus 17:11 King James Version (KJV) 11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. The blood is precious but so is the flesh. There is no difference between Christ's body and his blood except in Ernst Angley, Branham, Jack Van Impe, H A Maxwell Whyte and and their minions' minds mbaemeka: The blood of a baby is gotten from who? From Whom did Jesus get his blood? |
Sir, there was nothing divine about Jesus blood any more than his body. The idea that Jesus had a sinful flesh but sinless blood borders on mysticism and is clearly heretical mbaemeka: Jesus was fully human even if he had "no human blood" according to your construction. The blood he had was not smeared by sin because it came from his father. Is that too hard to understand? |
mbaemeka: The answer is in his statement and reply. He said MANY will SAY to him and not many who DID will SAY to him. And then his reply is the clincher- I NEVER KNEW YOU. You who worked iniquity A.K.A you sinner. |
You are regurgitating (plagiarizing) Ernst Angley mysticism and passing them as Spirit teaching you I know what Peter is saying, my question is whether the blood was ANY divine more than Jesus flesh If ONLY the blood was needed, was Christ's death necessary seeing it is very possible to spill and sprinkle blood without DEATH? Read this and focus on the word FLESH 1 Timothy 3:16 King James Version (KJV) 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. John 1:14 King James Version (KJV) 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Was Jesus really human if he had no human blood? On who is a Christian, that is a nickname for the disciples. You can derail this thread by taking me through TULIP but am not interested. Let's focus on your mysticism of Jesus blood being non-human seeing you have no proof of the workers of iniquities lying. My maxim on doctrine is simple; don't cling to what you can't defend regardless of which mortal is propagating it mbaemeka: Let me quote scriptures again to help your understanding. 1 Peter 1:19 says Jesus blood was precious and spotless like a spotless Lamb will be. |
I gladly throw the challenge back at you...Show me where it is written they didn't ![]() I have given you reasons to believe they did what they said 1. Nobody rebutted their claims 2. the idea of mortals standing before the throne and having the presence of mind to go through various works and picking the most convincing lies is stranger than science fiction. mbaemeka: That exchange was not in heaven. Please study well. Secondly, who is a christian and who is a sinner?. Can you show me where Jesus said those who told him they did miracles IN HIS NAME actually did it? |
mbaemeka, So in short you are saying that ; 1. Jesus' physical nature was different from you and me seeing his blood was DIFFERENT from yours? 2. he had sins 'in his flesh' but not in 'his blood'? 3. And Christ's divinity was his blood? mbaemeka: ha ha ha ha. Go and ask a medical doctor: a baby receives his body (flesh) from his mother but receives his blood from his father. That was why Jesus got conceived by his father- God. He had the sinful flesh but he had sinless blood. The phrase "lamb without blemish" refers to the BLOOD of the lamb and not the flesh for if it were about the flesh then Jesus' badly blemished flesh wouldn't have been good enough. |
mbaemeka, Nobody would 'merely SAY' to God on judgement day before His throne they did ABCD if they didn't. That is the point. And if they did,the natural response would be to rebut the lie. Jesus never disputed their claims because they were true....it is because you can't imagine yourself or fellow 'greater-than-Jesus'-miracles' worker going to hell that you are determined to defy logic and common sense not to mention the natural reading of this verse; some miracle workers WILL perish. You are trying to argue that NOBODY would perform miracles and be branded worker of iniquity. Spiritual gifts don't cease immediately a man falls into sin or even after the man persists in sin. So if you think exercising your gifting is a mark of purity, think again On Judas, you are engaging in unnecessary theological gymnastics. You are essentially GUESSING that Judas died BEFORE Christ (like it matters) and you are lamely attempting to LIMIT the MANY that would cite their works (lies according to you) to post resurrection. The twelve and the 72 actively operated in the name of Jesus well BEFORE he died......... And come to think of it, how would the name of a mere man like any other( God in him dormant) drive out demons? mbaemeka: Vooks, |
You are probably drunk with Calvinism and you are arguing in circles; -All that perish were never Christians -Christians will never perish probably your own version of once-saved-always-saved There are many prophets and miracle workers who will cling to works all the way to hell and I pray that with your greater-than-Jesus-miracles you won't be among them. That's all Jesus said, not that there would be many who would try cheat their way out of hell. You must have a very dim view of God if you think men can stand before the judgement seat and concoct clear lies What was the point of Jesus telling his disciples about men lying in heaven? That liars have no place in heaven or lying won't save you? He was relaying the shock factor of people like you who think performing miracles is an external manifestation of eternal security. They did more than say Lord Lord, they even performed miracles in his name mbaemeka: Like said earlier- I don't reason out the word of God. I let the Holy Spirit teach me through the word and I take him for exactly what he is and not a watered-down version. |
Have you ever revived a 4 day old corpse? mbaemeka: 1. I DO |
Mbaemeka, Two quick ones 1. Do you have the Holy Spirit as Jesus did? You should since the Spirit teaches you while mere mortals like me are left to REASONING 2. Do you do the same miracles Jesus did? mbaemeka: I also told you repeatedly that the miracles he wrought were not as a result of his blood or spirit but they were as a result of the HOLY SPIRIT that was within him (his sinful/ mortal flesh). For this very fact any man that is born into this world with a mortal flesh like Jesus will be able to do the same miracles he did if he has the HOLY SPIRIT within like Jesus did. |
I do think and meditate about the Word of God and clearly the Spirit does not teach corpses nor birds but thinking men. You are thinking about what/how to respond and quit pretending otherwise. The scriptures were not transmitted by the Spirit but by thinking men diligently compared and translated. Thinking is a privilege I don't abuse mbaemeka: I don't think about the word of God. The spirit of God teaches me. Maybe you should stop reasoning the word and just take him for who he is.The point is working miracles is no measure of immunity from hellfire, living the Father's will is. These are not necessarily synonymous meaning you can do Father's will without performing miracles and you can perform miracles and miss Father's will |
mbaemeka, Let's practice thinking for once; Answer these three questions as faithfully as you can 1. Did Judas perform miracles in the name of Jesus? Luke 9:1-7 King James Version (KJV) 9 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. 2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. 3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece. 4 And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart. 5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. 6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where. 2. Did Judas perish in sin? John 17:12 King James Version (KJV) 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. 3. Can somebody who has ever performed miracles in Jesus name perish? Now, Let me answer your questions mbaemeka: Vooks, |
Any idea why nobody from Pentecost till 400 years later thought of tithing? |
You missed the most important message; Real men of God never practice what they preach; that's a message for the flock not the shepherd. Otherwise they would have 'sowed' the private jet and reaped a 'hundredfold' or an airline ![]() |
I don't want my heartfelt sympathy/empathy for the bereaved and the injured to mask honest questions over this tragedy. Was the building ever approved? Were the architects/engineers negligent? Why is TB still clinging to the UFO conspiracy BS? |
I have said it elsewhere, doctrines that cropped up hundreds or thousands of years after Pentecost are man made and at worst doctrine of devils Tithing is one of them Prosperity Gospel is another one where giving to God is a suave investment decision...it reduces cheerful givers into Wall Street fat cats |
Psalm 27:2 King James Version (KJV) 2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. sonOfLucifer: Who breeds these fools? |
So many words to suggest that men standing before God will LIE and God will be too busy to refute their LIES....think! ![]() Jesus response is simple; 'You did ALL that but I never knew you' and not 'lairs! You did nothing like that and I never knew you'. ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? Does it take discernment to see that they are reminding Christ of what they did and they are shocked that it counts for nothing? Matthew 7:21-23 King James Version (KJV) 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. What can we learn from this? 1. Not all that call Jesus Lord will enter 2. Only those who do the Father's will 3. it is possible to call Jesus Lord WITHOUT doing the Father's will 4.On judgement some will call Jesus Lord but he will reject them as workers of iniquity The question is, what does Jesus never knowing them mean? If only those who do the will of the Father enter the Kingdom of heaven, then all who won't get in don't do Father's will. Those who don't do the will of the Father regardless of whether they call Jesus Lord or they did miracles in his name, will not make it. They are collectively dismissed as workers of iniquity. and it is these that Jesus says he never knew. Your weak and unsupported logic is NOBODY can perform miracles in Jesus name and be a sinner or live in sin. This helps you conclude that any miracle worker in Jesus name (read Oyaks) is not a sinner. You are forcing men at judgement to LIE so you can support Oyakhilome's righteousness. When the disciples forbade those not following Jesus from performing miracles, their concern was not that they were sinner but only that they acted independently. Wrong example. Judas performed miracles with the rest but he perished. Am sure if he died in his sins, on judgement day he may remind Christ of all the miracles he did. mbaemeka: Don't quote me if you have nothing meaningful to say. You didn't need to create a new handle to engage me. I quoted the scriptures and showed you exactly what Jesus said and I interpreted it for all to see because I know what it is to act in the name of Jesus. The name belongs to ONLY christians. Let me quote Jesus again this time maybe you would be kind enough to read it a little slower while meditating on it. |
Lucifer is already judged, can't repent. His fate is in the lake of fire.He wants to take with him as many as possible. Not different from HIV+ people who deliberately spread the virus. Son, you risk joining him You stand warned Turn to King of Kings and Only WIse God, Jesus Christ, whose very name causes hell to tremble Revelation 20:10 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. |
Can somebody briefly take us through the historicity of tithing in the Christendom? Start with the Catholic Encyclopaedia purely for historical purposes http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/14741b.htm let me save your energy; ALL doctrines that 'developed' hundreds or thousands of years after Pentecost are man made |
Warped logic probably recited from a 'Christian' book by you know whom; You are in danger of hellfire and you think you can LIE (to GOD) your way out of this by claiming you did stuff in Jesus name you never did? Not logical. In any case, if these people will be at the judgement seat lying, what would Jesus' rational response be? Tell them they are lying. Instead He says he never knew them meaning regardless of what they did, He never knew them. Their sin/disqualification is WORKING INIQUITY and NOT PURPORTING TO HAVE DONE THINGS IN JESUS NAME THEY NEVER DID Mark 9:39New King James Version (NKJV) 39 But Jesus said, “Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. This verse, Jesus was specifically addressing disciples' concern with people who did miracles and they were not following Him as the disciples. He sought to allay their fears that the men were blaspheming. It does not prove that one can't perform miracles in Jesus name and still perish mbaemeka: So my dear, the people in Matthew 7 that you made references to never did any of those things that they SAID they did. They will only SAY so to escape the lake of fire and of course they will fail because they never knew Christ and as such never did what they claimed. Jesus said anyone who tastes of that power from on high can't in return speak evil of him. It is virtually impossible to do so. I don't know how to argue my relationship with God with an atheist for example, How do I tell someone else that I hear God speak to me by the Holy Spirit? They will call me deluded or a liar. |
Lucifer am sure is fully aware of his end. Unlike men, his fate is sealed. This is what makes him dangerous. He envies men who have a chance of repenting as long as they be alive. He can't repent. He stands judged. Praise be to Lord Jesus King of Kings and Lord of Lords Revelation 20 King James Version (KJV) 20 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. 7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. |
It is pure nonsense to claim that an aircraft that overflew at least 50 minutes before the collapse is somewhat responsible. TB rubbing his hooves with glee decided to take shortcuts, build the cheapest extension for his guests without additional foundation reinforcement. In fact reinforcing the foundation is so expensive he would have been better off constructing a new structure elsewhere. This is purely shoddy workmanship and Lucifer is probably suing for defamation ![]() |
Buildings have been known to collapse due to severe elements such as wind or water or earthquakes. They have also collapsed due to shoddy workmanship. What T B Joshua can do is to PROVE that the additional three stories were approved by the relevant authorities, disclose the building expansion plans and if he did all that is expected, he walks away. Instead, they first beat up journalists. Next they claim that the building's architect is Holy Spirit. And now they are blaming a hi-tech plane for bringing down a building, a technology that exists only in movies. That is schizophrenia and the only worse thing than TB Joshua's conduct and claims is believing him And it is extreme stupidity telling us that TB praying on the mountain had to receive a call from someone not on the mountain to draw his attention to the plane that was flying above him! So in absence of that call, TB could not have noticed the noise accompanying the low-flying craft? And does he pray with his phone on? ![]() |
. The text includes teaching similar to 1 Corinthians 9:14, that ministers of the gospel have a right to live from the gospel (11:6, 12; 13:1–2). 13:3–7 discusses how Christians are to give first fruits, stating that prophets are Christians’ high priest. However, it does not equate first fruits with a portion that is the (Divine) right of ministers of the gospel: “If, however, you have no prophet [minister of the gospel], give [the first fruits] to the poor” (13:4). Finally, 13:7 says to take the first fruits of “money and clothing and whatever [else] you own as you think best and give them according to the commandment.” A problem occurs when the text says both to give “as you think best” and to give “according to the commandment.” Some have said this is a contradiction. However, the phrase “as you think best” refers to the items that are considered liable to first fruits and “according to the commandment” probably refers to the instructions just given.
