- A Nigerian mother, Grace Egbinola, paid the school fees she was owing in 1969 which was the sum of N1 and 58 kobo - Sharing the letter with Legit.ng, her daughter, Toyin Egbinola, said that her mother taught them the value of honesty - The woman kept the receipt of her debt for decades before she finally paid it off in 2020 A Nigerian woman, Grace Egbinola, has demonstrated a great virtue as she fulfilled a promise she made many decades ago. In a message sent to Legit.ng by Grace's daughter, Toyin Egbinola, it was revealed that the 73-year-old woman finished from St Loius Secondary school on December 9, 1969. Ever since she got the receipt of her debt in 1975, the woman held onto it with the strong vow that she would repay it someday. On Monday, December 14, 2020, the woman paid the debt which was the sum of N1.58k. The woman’s child said she is proud that her mum never cheated the system. A good name is better than gold Though the woman is not rich, the child stated that she taught her children the value of honesty. A part of Grace's principal's letter to her reads: “You are truly a Saint Louis trained person to be keeping a paper that was issued since 1975 and sent your son up to clear a debt that is as little as N1.58k in the year 2020 gives me hope that there are good people in this country who have not become rotting with greed.” Toyin also said that her mum would really love it if she could reconnect with some of her old secondary school classmates. "All over the place people have been urging me to go for President in 2023, but i say to them, the vehicle called Nigeria has no brain box but people are taking of changing driver only. What can a driver of a knocked engine or car with faulty or no brain box do? Absolutely nothing until the vehicle goes for complete overhaul. Those clamouring for restructuring are saying fix the car first then look for a driver" - Culled from THISDAY Newspaper, 27/5/21

You must understand something, all Southern politicians are driven by untold degree of selfishness. While in office, they are all aspiring for the next office. The strategy to get on the ladder is to sacrifice their people, their towns and villages and their region. They do everything possible to please the Hausa Fulani Northerners in order to be favoured. We can go back a little to pull out some examples. (1). Governor Peter Odili wanted to run for presidency, he squandered River State money on Northern Emirs and Northern Opinion leaders. At the end, he failed. (2). General Olusegun Obasanjo held up all development programmes in the South and promoted infrastructure development in the North in order to get the 3rd term agenda through. At the end, he failed. (3). James Ibori wanted to be a Vice President to President Yar’dua, in place of Jonathan. Delta State Liaison office in Abuja, became an ATM for all the Northern PDP members. At the end, not only did he fail, he was sent to prison. (4). Jonathan Goodluck postponed South South development to his anticipated second tenure and put in all resources to the rehabilitation of the Almajiris, Emirs Palace from Sokoto to Maiduguri. Built Abuja-Kaduna Rail line when Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was impassable, East-West Road was a mere historical concept; built and completed Federal Universities in Katsina, Jigawa, etc but did foundation ground breaking for the the Federal University in Bayelsa. At the end, he was sent out of the Villa by the Northern INEC Chairman he appointed. (5). Under Jonathan, the then Minister for Aviation, Stella Odua, funded in full, the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Kano, Sokoto, Katsina Airports but Port Harcourt Airport operated from a Tarpaulin, Enugu completely short down. At the end, AMCON took over all her assets and currently facing EFCC. (6). Our brother Ibe Kachukwu was the Chairman of NNPC BOT and Petroleum Minister at the same time. He promoted the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline. He rehabilitated the Petroleum institute in Kaduna when the Petroleum Institute in Warri was not captured in the budget. He was humiliated out of office. (7). Obono Obla, SAN was appointed the Chairman of Government Asset Recovery Committee. His target was only all past office holders from the South South and South East. At the end, he was framed and arrested. ( 8 ). The immediate past Managing Director of NDDC and Akwa Ibom State APC Governorship candidate, Nsima Ekere gave out emergency jobs (contracts) only to Southern Contractors fronting for Northerners. NDDC became an ATM for “the Villa Boys”. Where is he now? (9). Rotimi Amaechi is lobbying to be the next Vice President, in 2023. His first action is to sell the South and became a saboteur. No wonder why as a Transport Minister, he found it very necessary to build the Lagos-Ibadan- Abuja-Kaduna-Kano-Katsina Rail line, Calabar-Maiduguri Rail line, Transport University in Katsina. The Great Eastern Railway line From Port Harcourt via Aba, Onitsha to Enugu to Okene in his books, is not feasible. The minister is completing the biggest rail and road line into Niger Republic and towards the border of Niger Republic and other countries while the roads in the south are impassable. What Niger Republic has benefited in this Administration is bigger that all that South-South and South-East combined. Who are the Managing Directors of Nigerian Ports Authority and NIMASA? (10). The current Petroleum Minister, Chief Timipre Sylva, has initiated the construction of the Ajaokuta-Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline to facilitate the building of a Gas Power Station in Abuja and Kaduna and “to turn Kano into an Industrial Head Quarters”. The man is from Bayelsa State where there is over 90% unemployment and no electricity from National Grid. (11). Ahmed Tinubu, for his desire to rule Nigeria practically sold the South and with his bullion vans rigged Buhari to power. History will tell of him soon like others. (12). The number of appointments of people from Niger Republic in Buhari Administration is bigger than all south combined and all the National Assembly members are aware but keep quiet because of future ambition and to avoid probe. The story is long! https://www./2938849359684324/permalink/3119076014994990/

Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria’s secret service, has warned “misguided elements” (Biafra and ) who are threatening Nigeria’s unity and peaceful co-existence to desist from doing so. This online news platform understands that the DSS in the statement issued by its spokesman, Peter Afunanya, warned that henceforth, the service will no longer tolerate those whose aim is to “throw the country into anarchy.” In the statement, the DSS claimed that “those in the forefront” of the call for the disintegration of Nigeria “are respectable individuals who should be patriotic and not allow their personal ambitions to ruin the nation.” DSS warns Biafra, Oduduwa agitators The statement said: “While the Service reaffirms its unambiguous support to an indivisible, indissoluble and united Nigerian State in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, it will no longer tolerate deliberate machinations by subversive and hostile groups whose agenda is to throw the country into anarchy so as to serve the interests of their sponsors. “Consequently, the Servcie is assiduously working with other security and law enforcement agencies to ensure the maintenance of peace and internal security of the country.” DSS claimed in the statement claimed that among those threatening the federal government and Nigeria’s unity are “some religious and past political leaders who have either called for a forceful change of government or mass action against it.” The statement continued: “It has been established that the main objective for these is to cause a disintegration of the country,” he added. “It is unfortunate that those in the forefront of this are respectable individuals who should be patriotic and not allow their personal ambitions to ruin the nation. The Service has also noted their desperation and penchant to collaborate with external forces and influences against Nigeria. “They are reminded that even though democracy offers free speech, it does not give room to reckless pronouncements capable of undermining security. It is instructive to note that the ballot box remains the vehicle of change in a democracy. “In this regard, self-centred individuals and groups are warned to stop engaging in acts inimical to the peace and sovereignty of this nation. In the same manner, influential personalities should be sensitive to emerging situations and guard against divisive and inciting utterances that may cause a breakdown of law and order.” Meanwhile, NewsOne Nigeria reports that the statement by the DSS, is coming at a time some Nigerians are calling for Nigeria’s breakup from both the proponents of a Biafran government and other aggrieved citizens Source: https://newsoneng.com/2021/05/02/breaking-dss-to-arrest-those-calling-for-biafra-oduduwa-republic/?fbclid=IwAR2iDkvbDo_5QzXzjE_Kjk34uTYA_XNOtPDV_e1NALZs_xiox82OiPhCwII

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has disagreed with those agitating for Yoruba nation, saying Oduduwa himself would not want Nigeria to break apart. The Chairman of NANS in Ogun State, Comrade Damilola Simeon, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST on Tuesday. Simeon, who said those clamouring for the secession of Yorubas from the Nigerian nation might have their genuine reasons, however, affirmed that “the stance of NANS can never be for the disunity of our dear nation, because the organisation which I represent is one that has to do with the whole Nigeria.” According to him, “NANS does not do with one tribe or the other. Whether you’re Yoruba, Hausa or Igbo, I believe we are all Nigerians. Fulanis are all Nigerians.” The students leader maintained that his greatest interest as the NANS JCC Chairman of Ogun State, “is to propagate the unity of Nigeria and to emancipate our people the more.” He did not mince words as he stated emphatically that, “I will never be party to secession and I will never subscribe to the idea of Nigeria being disunited, neither will I support tribes going their separate ways.” He spoke further that, “Instead of thinking of secession, I will advise that everyone should go back to the drawing tables; let’s come together and look at ways of restructuring this nation. Secession is not the way to go, restructuring is what we need. “If our leaders can be candid enough as we all go back to the drawing board and think of ways of restructuring this nation, I think most of the problems we are having in this nation will become a thing of the past. “Secession would never come in an easy way, it might lead to tribal or civil war. At the end of the day, lives, property and a lot of things will be lost; a lot of havoc and hazard will happen to the nation and that would draw us back. “I am not subscribing to the advent of Yoruba nation. Though I am a Yoruba boy and an offspring of Oduduwa, but I know Oduduwa himself would not want Nigeria to split; because all that it will bring is problems and bloodshed. It won’t come easy. So, I implore our leaders across all geopolitical zones to all try and be candid with us in this nation. “Some people are somewhere enjoying the ‘dismay’ we are suffering in this country. As things are falling apart, some people are cashing out, and we must put them to shame. “I want to beg all Nigerians, let’s start thinking of restructuring instead of secession,” the Ogun NANS leader pleaded. I weep for Nigeria |
Pope Francis The Vatican Open Letter To Pope Francis Re: Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka Your Holiness, You may or may not have heard of a certain Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, a Catholic priest in Enugu, Nigeria, who has left the calling he took holy oaths to abide by, to dabble disastrously in politics. At various times between the years 2015–2016, this fellow made public pronouncements to the effect that God had told him that He was displeased with and had departed from Nigeria’s then President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. He then claimed that God had told him that his opponent, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) was (and these are his exact words, not mine) “an answer to prayer”, a man who would “save” Nigeria, a “liberator” of Nigeria, and the “glory” of Nigeria. He also in the year 2015 made false allegations against Mr. Jonathan, to the effect that Mr. Jonathan and his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, wanted to assassinate him. That I am willing to make an oath on a sworn affidavit that that allegation is false, and that at the material time when he made that allegation, I called on Reverend Mbaka to substantiate them with evidentiary proof, of which he never did. That again in 2019, after Nigerians had gone through so much hardship under the said Major General Buhari, a man of very strong religious bias, Reverend Mbaka made pronouncements to the effect that Nigerians should continue with Buhari, after he had publicly humiliated a fellow Catholic, Peter Obi, on December 3, 2019, for failing to make a public donation, and called him “stingy” and said “the way you and Atiku are moving will end in shame.” It should be noted that Father Mbaka’s actions go against 2 Corinthians 9:7: “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” And then when Father Mbaka made a volte face on April 29, 2021, asking his former friend, and now President Buhari, to resign, the President’s spokesmen revealed the next day that Reverend Mbaka had requested for contracts as pecuniary compensation for his support for Mr. Buhari, and when this was not acceded to, he went rogue. Your Holiness, By virtue of the Public Procurement Act of 2007, it is a criminal offence to demand and get a government contract without an open public and transparent tender. To legally get a contract in Nigeria, you must tender publicly, and the government must accept the lowest bid. Anything short of that is not just criminal, it is also unethical and unbecoming of a Catholic priest. In the opinion of many Nigerians, Reverend Father Mbaka has brought the Catholic Church into disrepute, and undermined the faith of the faithful, by his conduct. I therefore call on Your Holiness to investigate this matter, and take proper measures to ensure that there is discipline within the Catholic Church in Nigeria. Reno Omokri Gospeller. #FlashBack 2016 "I'm pretty much the best-looking zombie you'll ever see." As a professional fitness model and bodybuilder, 26-year-old Andrew Jones lives an active lifestyle and regularly works out in the gym. No big deal. Oh, but have we mentioned he has no pulse? Yup! Jones does not have a self-functioning heart. To keep himself alive, he carries around with him at all times an artificial heart pump and pacemaker attached to a backpack, and has to plug himself into the wall outlet every night to charge the lifesaving hardware. In 2012, he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy — a disease which affects the efficiency of the heart to pump blood. While waiting for a full heart transplant, he was given a device to help his heart pump blood around his body. This equipment is called a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), consisting of a battery pack and a computer, which power and control the technology assisting his heart. An LVAD is a portable device that allows patients to continue doing their normal activities while they await transplant. A similar scenario happened to Stan Larkin – who was also diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and had to carry around an artificial heart in a backpack while waiting for a full heart transplant. The difference is that Larkin had his heart removed and was fitted a Syncardia device to allow for circulation. Just like Larkin who had managed to continue playing basketball even with the 6-kg (13.5-pound) device strapped to his body, Jones continued working out in the gym after having the LVAD implanted. THE MAN WITH A BIG (ARTIFICIAL) HEART Despite living with an artificial heart, Jones tried to keep a positive outlook on life. In the clip above, Jones shares, “at first, I was upset about having an artificial heart. And then there was that moment where I realize that this is my life for now. Either I can dwell and feel sorry for myself, or I can continue doing the things that I love to do, the best way I can. And I haven’t stopped.” Jones has founded Hearts at Large, a charity aimed to raise awareness on the issues of life-saving transplants and to offer support and encouragement to transplant patients. Sometimes we keep complaining to God about the small things in our lives but meet 31 year old Andrew Jones, the man who moves about with his artificial heart in a bag 24/7. Learn to be Content and Appreciative, You never know what life has for You..
