jelel6: I use video courses, and I read books and web articles.
That method works for me because I prefer to learn alone from an already prepared guide, rather than from a tutor like the way we were taught in formal schools (or code bootcamp) Right now... How big are u in the programning world... Do u think u have known almost everything u should in the world.... Like if it was a course, u are the lecturer?... |

jelel6: Take anything you can from this piece:-
When you start using words as 'better' to differentiate two different fields which solves two different problems, it's the first sign that you're approaching with an undesirable mentality.
Considering the topic of discussion and your questions, I think you're about to take a very important decision that will shape your future somewhat from here on. So, it's naturally that you're seeking for advice here.
When I was deciding to learn an IT skill, I literally spent more than a week doing my research and studying up to get a solid "overview".
I read articles on medium specifically. Medium is like the IT world playground. Read articles upon articles. I came across a 108 minutes-long articles on everything IT. It was the longest article I've ever seen written. ALL this I did before STARTING the journey proper.
I went through all those trouble because the last thing you'd want to do is second guess your decision to learn to code or do data science. You may end up spending more than a year without learning anything because your head and heart is not in the right place initially.
It may take you years to grasp any of the path you're contemplating. So take a few days to read ALL WHAT you can about data science and web development, independent of each other.
So don't start asking Google which is BETTER. Instead, ask what is web development and what is data science.
Whether you neglect or do both, focus on asking the right questions first. Don't take shortcuts when you're doing something like a 'feasibility study'.
Since I started on the programming pathway, I've only face what we call the 'imposter syndrome'. But I've never had self-doubt as to whether I made the right decision or not. And you can only give yourself that level of self-assurance when you know the PROS and CONS of what you're into.
Good luck Did u learn programming online? |

Dipsaint: Go to Udemy/Coursera to get started man!
But before you start, check out the available languages and decide the one you want to learn. Thanks boss... I am a student... Just want to start up something before graduation... I don't have a laptop though... Should I get one... Or is my smartphone good to go? |

tensazangetsu20: For programming language I would say it depends. If you are between 13 to 18 and want to get into programming. I would advice you to learn C and C++.
If you are above 18, JavaScript and PHP. I believe those above 18 would be looking to get into the labour market and those two languages have the most jobs out there. Cost implication. Well just data. You are gonna spend on data a lot and then you need a lot of time at least 4 to 5 hours a day. Are u very good at it... And would u love to teach? |

kingxsamz: Seriously, how do you put food on your table? You're always busy talking about how the world would end anytime soon, while the whole world and everyone around you is moving forward. And how long will you keep up with this before you realize that you have wasted years of your life? You need a job seriously. But let me just assume that you're an elderly man living off his pension and not some youth wasting away while those around him are progressing. Let him be.... His words are for his followers...
