@ollah The problem i see here is that you're running on antiquated information. Samsung doesn't sell like hot cake anymore, they used to and lots of people like you still have that impression. if they were selling their flagships like hot cake they wont be making losses on their hardware.Samsung releases more than 10 new devices every year mostly cheap low end and repackaged mid range to the flagship using the concept of throwing everything against the wall to see which sticks. and yes, they spend millions on advertising and their sales are still slumping Blackberry releases at most two devices in a year every single iPhone has 'generally' beaten equivalent Samsung flagships on benchmark so their hardware are not exactly market leading you're free to have your opinion on how BB will perform, you're entitled to it and you wont be the first. i'm particular about the quality and authenticity of any information posted to this thread and will challenge any misinformation or incorrect conclusions this thread was created to provide guidance to those who are interested in BlackBerry, BlackBerry 10 devices and those who use and require help on getting the best from their BB10 devices. |
Like I said, read your message again and maybe you'll realise it doesn't make sense There are 1.2billion devices running Android. They have crappy security and no keyboard yet the Samsungs of this world have made billions in revenue off the sales of devices running the OS How then will a more secure version of that OS with a keyboard not sell? The two things that the android universe has been craving? Oh by the way, John Chen never said at anytime on any medium that the future of BlackBerry rests on the sales of priv...it's people like you who conjure that up in your own minds Even if BlackBerry never makes another hardware after priv, that has nothing to do with anyone who buys the priv. There are many phone manufacturer who have gone uncder and there are many mobile OSS that have been discontinued. Those who bought those devices moved on to other things and that will not be any different in this case if BlackBerry ever chooses to exit hardware manufacturing |
Dannyset:NFC, Bluetooth and Wifi Direct are features available on all smartphones (irrespective of manufacturer) worth being called smartphone and they can talk to each other. iPhone is the only one in a cage |
you definitely dont know what you're talking about...what do u mean the future of a BB hardware running android not guaranteed? a BB hardware with keyboard running android doesn't have a future? really? seriously? maybe you should read your own post and review it |
Dannyset:Nfc, bluetooth and WiFi direct are inbuilt features for sharing files between two devices Have u tried anyof them? |
ollah1:based on spec, there are very few better devices than Priv at prices lower than that....and don't forget its an Android with the Blackberry keyboard...what the iOS and Android world has been dreaming of for ever |
Are you using the right USB cable that came with the device to connect it to the pc? I hope you know all USB cables are not the same? |
papi22:that's very strange...must mean the new OS didnt install...try to do the installation of the new OS with BB link on a PC |
papi22:update your OS |
@bliss11 remove your airtel sim, connect the device to wifi and check for update |
bliss11:What OS do you have installed? |
You definitely don't know me....i'm a fan of the BlackBerry concept not just the OS. I have been using BlackBerry, iOS and android for many years. Enough time to compare them dispassionately Pound for pound BlackBerry 10 is the best mobile OS and if Steve jobs or Google had been the owners, they would have killed off iOS and android OS in exchange for this OS and the story of the mobile world would be so much different I, just like everybody who truly understand the OS hate the inability of the company to market and position the OS properly to get app developers on board. The company left the turn around too late and the world moved on |
This thread was created to provide support to BlackBerry 10 users who visit nairaland...it was not created as a fan boi thread to praise the company, phone or OS. seeing people seek help with whatever issues they're having with their devices is in line and nor an anomaly |
Influence01:Get a pc with Internet connection, download BlackBerry link, install it on the pc and connect your BlackBerry to the pc. BlackBerry link will detect your device and prompt you to reinstall your OS Crucial: stable and decently fast Internet connection |
Osinitu:If you're still on 10.2.1, there's only one advise for you, upgrade your OS |
mekstaniac:So long as you're on 10.3.2.xxxx, what you want is for anyone who steals your to wipe it or change out your Sim, then the person will have to supply your BBID and password! If they can't the device will be useless to them and if they keep it on, you will always be able to track it |
You can't unlock a BlackBerry free of charge |
anitank:Open the notifications and check that state of the notification for specific apps |
You have to use the right apn for your data plan. Go to 'apn' under mobile network and restore to default to clear the BIS apn and set the apn for your ordinary mb |
Nope, no glitch with bbm |
LOUIS6:Have you searched BlackBerry world for painter editing apps? |
simdam500:You don't need to panic...it's not a peculiar problem..its a problem between windows and BlackBerry link. You need Internet connection to allow windows pull the required driver from the internet |
Pekusodaboy:the most important thing is internet connection!!!! if you get a pc with internet connection, download BB link program from blackberry.com install it on that pc and connect your phone to the pc with a usb cable once you see the connection on the BB Link program, click to update your phone |
ikanason:why dont you get a microSD Card and move your personal files from the device memory to the card? files like music, video, pictures can be safely moved to the card |
uyiekpenm:do it straight from your z10. if its a first time subscription, give at least 24hrs allowance for the service to be activated by glo |
Text bbcmonth to 777 from your glo line |
uyiekpenm:why don't you just do the glo CoMonth BIS of 1k for 3GB |
@Pekusodaboy the guy probably loaded an unstable leak to your device. your quickest option is to update to an official OS via a pc (BB Link) or OTA when you connect to a wifi |
no wahala, i'll step aside so the other persons can help you nor vex |
if you ask your question properly, maybe we will be able to help you find a solution to your issue if you're running 10.4 OS, its most likely not a BB10 if you are using a BB10 and you are on 10.3.2.xxxx, you cannot downgrade |
inosabi:there's no BlackBerry 10 OS called 10.4. the current OS is 10.3.2.XXXX |
Pls modify your post and make it cogent for us to make sense of so we can help you. I'm struggling to understand your issue ![]() You said you loaded an older OS called 10.4? First off there's no OS 10.4 yet |
