Have you tried other cables for the charge process? If you try other cables and you're still experiencing the same issues, then the USB port is defective

BlackBerry protect on BlackBerry 10 doesn't back up your data.... use BlackBerry link program on a PC to do your back up!!!!

Protect just tracks your device location and if you are on 10.3.2.xxxx It prevents a thief from re-initializing with another bbid and taking over your device

Most people selling UK used will tell you that's what you're buying if you choose to buy a used device

Technically you're not supposed to still be able to find a new Q10 in the market again since fresh production of the device has stopped for a long time but it's not impossible

If you're interested in buying only a used device, the model number can give you an idea of the region the device was manufactured for

I'm sure there will be a data plan like that but not necessarily for BlackBerry 10 devices only....it'll be available for any device type

what type of error are u getting? have u tried to check for update to BBM on BBworld...are you running the latest BB10 OS on your device?

i don't use all those MIDI, MEDI, MAXI plans so i don't know if they work or not

The problem is most likely with the port on the device end..this is one of the dangers of buying UK used phones

Get a GSM engineer to look at the phone or if you're still on warranty, return it to the people you bought it from

Z3 has only 8gb internal memory. You have to remove all your music, video and pictures from the internal memory to a micro SD card then delete all the non essential apps you have installed

When you have about 4gb of internal memory available, the device should be able to upgrade

Install the right OS version for your device and it won't wipe every time you restart it

if the security wipe started, you did everything right...security wipe is a real biatch and it takes quite a while so just relax...the device will come back to life at its own time so long as you keep the charger in so the battery doesnt drain

you can do a security wipe to restore the device to factory settings but you also need to be sure you have installed the right OS for your device

if you have a PC with internet connection, install blackberry link and use the program to reinstall the latest official OS to the device

you dont need to sync contacts on a BB10...so long as your yahoo account is associated with your device, all your contacts are in sync

any time you save a new contact, its automatically saved to all your email addresses that are set up on the device

do you have a microSD card in your device? if you do, move the music, videos, pictures from the device storage (which is only 16GB) to your microSD. once done, feed us back if the strange app behaviors you described in 'secondly of your post' and the restarts stop

I assume your question is...is there a way to connect to the Hotspot you set up on a q5 from an android device and a laptop?

If that's your question then the answer is yes. When you set up the Hotspot on the q5, all you have to do is connect to the wifi created from your android and laptop as you would connect to any wifi
