I think you should be careful with the misinformation

Whether you use online banking or cheque or across the counter, if your account is a COT charging account you will still get charged if you do an intra or interbank transfer


Gtb has a number of non COT account and I always wonder why anyone will open a COT charging account

petaling: I just found out that the battery last when I switch off everything including data. But whenever I switch on data, even without browsing, the battery will start discharging at a faster rate. This is not normal.

Of course once you switch off data, the device is just another feature phone and the battery is used only for calls and sms so the battery can last for 1 week on a single charge

donaemeka: Im yet to install the 10.2.1 update on my q10. But I still want to ask those dat have.....how many of ur android apps have actually worked? I did sideload over 20 apps on the previous OS but they failed to work (well only a couple did work). So I need responses pls. How many of urs are working and give a list. Thank U

I think most free apps work on the 10.2.1.1055 and there's nobody who has installed the os that has not been impressed

If you have maintained a current account with them, I'm sure this is not the first time you are getting charged COT for your transactions

It's too early to decide. Watch the battery for a few more days before you make a call on it. Since you just bought the phone, it's normal for activity level to be very high at the start i.e. apps installation, account set up and all sorts of synchronization

Also make sure you don't allow the phone to discharge fully before you recharge

Illuminatus: Hey Wal. For some reason, my data finishes very very fast. The BBMLITE I got two weeks ago has exhausted and the only thing I do with the phone is What'sApp and BBM. I don't even browse up to three hours in a week with the phone's browser. It is surprising how my data just finished after I download two 3 minute music videos. What could be happening with my data? Secondly, some of my chats on BBM show a small red box with x written in it. What does that mean?

The data limit on the bbmlite is probably 500mb or even less?.. I use 3gb of data in 3 weeks....how do u expect to survive on a tiny data plan like bbmlite?

The X means the data is currently undeliverable. It could be a problem from your end or the recipient's end. If you bbm someone who's bis has expired, that's what you see. If you send a bbm when your network data is fluctuating, that's what also happens. With BlackBerry 10, you can resend the message with no problems

lol...the apn setting like i told you has nothing to do with the hardware or software...its a glo network thing...

the only reason you know whats going on is because the phone alerts you and that has to do with the BB philosphy of getting things done...if data is down, important connections will break and important communications will not reach you in a timely fashion, so that extra level of smartness has been built into the BB10 OS to alert you when your phone is not able to access data ...other smartphones will face the same issues but wont bring up any prompt

no, it doesn't come with a screen protector but the screen doesn't scratch from everyday use. the risk you run is cracking the screen if you drop it and even a screen protector can't save you from that. only a solid case can

Verizon is a cdma network and their devices might not work well with a gsm network. Etisalat is especially prone to having issues with cdma phones.

I have used an unlocked Verizon storm1 before and it worked with my airtel sim at that time

He can go to this page http://protect.blackberry.com log in with his bbid and see the location of his phone if it is switched on

Apart from glo customer service, have you tried to call anyone else?

Have you put another sim in it to make a call to ensure the phone is working properly

Glo BIS has some queer behaviour on BB10 devices...i experience the same thing occasionally myself. i guess its because Glo BIS is not officially supposed to work on BB10 devices but its a revenue generator for them and they have decided to look the other way

the very first batch of Z10s were released with 10.0.0.XXXX OS since then 10.1.X.XXXX, 10.1.X.XXXX MR and now 10.2.0.424 has been officially released

depending on when the device you pick is manufactured, the current official available at that time will be what is loaded on it, so all you have to look for is the OS installed on the pack. i don't expect you to find anything more than 10.1.X.XXXX because Z10 is most probably not being manufactured again...the reason for that is that Q10, Q5 and now Z30 have all been released after Z10.

point is, don't worry yourself about what the out-of-the-box OS is, you will still need to update to the latest OS once you pull it out of the pack

Skype works without any problem on all BB10 devices

yes, you need wifi for OS upgrades...its actually not peculiar to BB

you will have to look for home wifi or public wifi to use
