the correct apn is internet.ng.airtel.com...what shows up by default for airtel sim is 'internet'.

so you just need to edit and put the correct apn

settings->network and connection->mobile network. tap APN and edit what is under 'Access Point Name (APN)'

Anyways, don't know if there are job seekers on this thread? I use a curve 4 and want to change to a BB10 device because the browsing on my current phone is awful. There are some sites I would like to browse to apply for jobs but somehow the phone can't work with the site, so this is my main reason for upgrading, don't know is anybody faces such issue with the BB10 devices?

how much data you use depends on your activity but rest assured that with BB10, you will get value for your money...gone are the days we pay money to networks and they claim they have given us unlimited data but you end up using less than 100mb before the data expires

BB10 browser can open any site unless the site is specifically designed to not work with any mobile device

the installation file is like 1Gb...if you have unlimited data cap, you can download it but it will only install via a PC

Browsing is fantastic and that means BlackBerry 10 uses data like iPhone and Android.

To sideload without a pc is a bit technical.

If you install the latest leaked OS, you can install apk without needing to sideload

Whatsapp won't activate unless that sms comes. It might come and you might not notice but if whatsapp works that means the activation message has been sent to your line

If you just installed it, you're supposed to receive a text from whatsapp to progress the activation

It works the same way it works on other platforms

When BlackBerrys took low resolution pictures we crucified them, now they have high quality hardware that takes high resolution pictures we are now asking for the so called 'good' old days of small sized pictures

You have bbm and your friends on android and iPhone also have bbm, why do you need whatsapp?

take pictures with normal mode, Auto scene and 1:1 ratio and see if it reduces the size

The problem is your network but you have titled your thread to discredit BlackBerry

Check under settings in bbm. There's a setting on automatically recording voice notes. Switch it on

Leaked OS can have little issues like that. I don't think it's a major issue and you should be able to survive till official release

I use screen capture and I crop off areas that are not important if the picture is very large

Cropping is currently the way to reduce the size of a picture. Picture resizing by reducing dimensions is still missing

all she needs to do is go to settings->software update and check for an update

i have a lady friend who uses a blackberry q10... thing is when she puts up her dp on bbm, other contacts cant see it... it just shows blank... after deliberating on what causes it , we decided on deleting the bbm and re-installing, just befor the deleting we checked on her app world and couldnt find both bb protect nor bbm... so she got scared of deleting , cox they was no way to get back her bbm afterwards. .

she dosnt use a bb10 plan , rather she uses bis... could the fault be from the plan or where?? advice on next step to take, i know no jack bout blackberries... thnx mahn

What OS is she on?

Updating to the latest official OS will most likely clear all the issues you described

I have tried severally through wifi and through my airtel and mtn line to check for 10.2 update on my BlackBerry Q10 but was unable able to get a positive except that version 10.1.2030 that I installed is the current version avaliable. I have downloaded blackberry link new version to check for update instead it shows me same version 10.1.2030 which I already have on the fone. My BlackBerry 10, I bought it from at&t usa and unlock it there before started using it. What's your advice on how to go about upgrading it?

That's strange but a way out is to download the appropriate version you want using a pc and install rather than do OTA

You did ? that's a pleasant surprise. I guess that improvement came with the later updates. I couldn't move my memo over on 10.0

I'll see if I can use my last bbos back up to restore my old memos to remember

iamteekaygal: Thanks for your response. I actually dialed *141*1# and followed the instructions and subscribed for1 month blackberry complete plan. Aldou with the balance on my phone it seems they didn't deduct 1500, av made calls b4 I realised that, so i think 1400 or so wad deducted.

Well, my question now is that after restoring my BlackBerry Protect I could not find my memo and password keeper. How do I go about that? And pls where do I check my battery level?

You can re-install password keeper for BlackBerry 10 from BlackBerry world

Memo has been replaced by 'remember' in BlackBerry 10 but your previous memo will not copy over to BlackBerry 10

Battery percentage will come with the next OS update. See the picture in the leaked version I'm using

Yeah I use z10 and the 10.2.1.1055 was released first for the z10 100-1 model. I think the developer has now released for the other BlackBerrys

I can give you the 1mobile.com apk once you update your OS
