Some state like Cross river state uses IGR to pay their staff, and that is really and true politics, because the mandate is with the people(masses).

Anambra state governor tried it, and it work for him.

Cross river state, is using it, and I believed 100%, he don't need any other campaign, because it must work for him, if I have my way, I will go there because of his act of been worker friendly and vote for him on the day of his reelection.

Enugu state governor has queue up into it, by approving 13th month bonus salary for their workers.

The above three mentioned Governors don't have much to do again for their reelection, because masses will work for them.

Is true that Nigeria elections are fully characterized with rigging, but these days the interested thing in it, is the people cooperation, if people didn't cooperate, and majority of masses comes out to make sure you leave the seat, sorry will be your name.

Our dear governor suppose to bring in to his strategy, worker friendly approaches to advance his political carrier.

Rivers state has more money than the above mentioned state, both in federal allocation and Internal Generated Revenue (IGR), IGR alone is more than the wage bill. Wage bill should be about 6 billion, while IGR is between 9 and 10 billion.

Governor should look the way of workers, Anambra state governor before his reelection, gave all the Anambra state civil servants promotion to the next level with promise of faster implementation, with promise of 15% increment in their salary, and he won 21/21, i.e he won in all the LGA.

Our dear governor should adopt that strategy, because it work. He should pay all our outstanding salary, implement the previous promotion, and gave us promotion to the next level with immediate implementation. Honestly if he do so, he don't need those in the National Assembly to win election.
Civil servants will work for him and return him unopposed.

Please his advisers who are in this forum should communicate to him our opinion.

‘Rivers expends N90bn on roads in 17 months’

The Rivers Government has spent over N90 billion on the construction of critical roads in the last 17 months, Governor Nyesom Wike has said.‬

Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, the Special Assistant to Wike on Electronic Media, said in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the governor made the disclosure while declaring open the West Africa Architects Fair (WAAF 2016) in Port Harcourt.

‬‪The governor also said that the infrastructure development programme of his administration had been insulated from political consideration for the attainment of positive results.‬

“We have spent over N90 billion on construction, rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads, bridges and jetties.
“This money has effectively delivered over 80 roads while work is ongoing on the construction of about 35 new roads, spread across the three senatorial districts of the state.‬

‪”Most importantly, in order to derive maximum value for money spent, we have insulated our infrastructure development and delivery master plan from political considerations by ensuring that the designing, construction and supervision of all our roads are handled by reputable professionals and construction companies.”‬

‪According to Wike, his administration has overcome the initial challenges of empty treasury, unpaid salaries, insecurity caused by closed courts and a weak economy.‬

‪”When we assumed office, we met a state that was at the lowest rung in all indices of development.

“Besides an empty treasury, we inherited months of unpaid salaries to civil servants and a totally broken infrastructure.

“The poor security situation was exacerbated by the prolonged closure of the courts for over 12 months, leading to unprecedented capital flight and disinvestments.‬

‪”However, 17 months after, we have recorded remarkable achievements in several areas of development.”

He said that his administration’s priority was to clear the backlog of salaries, fix broken roads and transport infrastructure and create jobs by reflating the economy.

“In all these, we have successfully delivered.‬

‪”For instance, apart from clearing the arrears of salaries, we are among the very few states with proven capacity to meet our financial obligations to civil servants, contractors and vendors.”

The governor lauded Nigerian Architects for their contributions to the development of the country.

He recalled that since his days as council chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area up to becoming the o Minister of State for Education and now governor, he had been collaborating with architects to deliver quality projects.‬

‪In his remarks, the President, Nigeria Institute of Architects, Mr Tonye Braide, said that members were working towards developing new cities that would help grow the economies of different countries.‬

‪NAN reports that WAAF 2016 is a gathering of architects and allied professionals from across the West Africa sub-region.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC ) and her cohorts plotting to transplant the Edo State rigging model in Rivers State will fail as the people of the state will resist them.

He stated: "Anyone planning to steal our mandate will be resisted. Nobody can intimidate us. They will rig themselves into the water".

He spoke on Wednesday while flagging off the reconstruction of Bonny Jetty at the Bille/Bonny/Nembe Waterfront in Port Harcourt.

The governor stressed that INEC and pliant security agencies will not be allowed to use the Edo governorship election model in Rivers State.

"I hear some persons celabrating that they will repeat what they did in Edo State, here in Rivers State. Somebody who is suffering from malaria can say anything. But nobody will use the police to rig the rerun elections in Rivers State

"If you want to take our mandate by force, you will go by force. All the people of Rivers State must remain vigilant. INEC may want to take us unawares ", Governor Wike said.

On the flag off of the reconstruction of Bonny Jetty, Governor Wike said that the project is aimed at developing a quality water transport jetty where safety and security is promoted .

He said that the reconstruction of the jetty is in fulfilment of the pledge that he made to the people of the area during the electioneering campaign.

He said: "The day I came here to inspect this facility, I wept because of the condition of the jetty. We will develop it into a modern jetty.

"All the roads in the township suburb will also be rehabilitated by Julius Berger."

Governor Wike while asking the residents of the area to support the contractor to deliver the contract on schedule, he charged the contractor to employ the residents of the area in the course of reconstruction work.

In his remarks, Commissioner for Transport, Mr Akie Fubara said the Bonny Jetty will have a new jetty walkway and platform, terminal building housing arrival and departure lounges, improved driveway, retention wall and enhanced car parks.

Managing Director of Raffoul NigeriaLimited, Mr Hana Raffoul assured that the jetty will be constructed in line with international standards.

Thousands of residents turned out to welcome Governor Wike and celebrate the project. The Bonny Jetty was to left to degenerate several years after it was constructed.

It is the main gateway to Bonny and Bille in Rivers State and Nembe in Bayelsa State.

Even the poorest of all poor persons has dignity. Stop letting the non payment of ur salaries get d best of u. Ur survival is not sorely dependent on salary payment. Even if Wike pay salaries up to date, without developing infrastructure, people will still talk. Note that there is a big difference between criticism n insult. Either of it when exhibited in public, could tell who u are.

I condemn in totality the action of the governor toward our unpaid salaries, though I am against one insulting the governor, as for me I can't insult him, but I condemn his action of owing us for 5,6&7 months without any good reason.
@waliezi truly governor is really performing on you side, but not on the side of many unpaid civil servant.
Going by your previous post, I discovered that your payment is up to date, even on February, you received double payment.
But it's always good you put yourself in the shoe of your colleague, those not yet paid since February, March, April, May, June, July and September (some including August) 7/8 months unpaid.
Human development come first before others.

My mum has not been paid since March till date. But she can't insult d governor despite what because is seeing oda good things he is doing. Some months ago, my mum came out of her school (County Grammar School Ikwerre/Etche) to witness d flag off of d construction of Igwuruta - Etche road by Wike. She said then dat Wike promised to finish up d road in 6 months. Just a day b4 yesterday, my mum called me to inform me dat Wike has kept to his world as she was then witnessing d commissioning of d same road. Yes I believe dat Human Capacity Development is paramount but at this point in time n stage of present govt. any staff of RVSG dat publicly calls wike an idiot is an idiot raise to power 10. Wike has a missed placed priority because our union leaders is not pro-active not like he isn't performing in every perspective.

That's what u guys need to have understood long ago. Paying salaries doesnt give them anything, they see it as a burden. Its in carrying out inferior projects they steal and make money from. Why do you think Wike is embarking on these projects? That's where he steals from. A project of #1bn can be valued at 3bn.

. By first week of May, all outstanding must have been paid to Rivers State workers. Jus few days ago, Wike paid as he promised to d security workers in our primary schools their back log of salaries whc ran into several months. Also over 35,000 petty traders n farmers got alert of 50k each as a grant from Rivers state government which Wike promised them earlier. So tell me, do u really tink dat: WikeIsNotWorking?

Since late February I said that this so-called verification was a scam, just engineered to redirect to route the money is meant to go.
