If truly money did not leave the account as you claimed, why did he raise such alarm? Have you ever managed an NGO before? Do you know what it means to keep the accounts of an NGO? The money is donors money, you need extra care and caution and high level accountability. The money should be be used judiciously for the purpose that you received it and you must render account to the donor(s). That is the money he just woke up to say some hackers stole. No INGO or responsibile donor will fund his NGO anymore going forward, prank or no prank. Integrity is key to donors. |

XAUUSD: I see your point. The competition definitely will help push the price down.
Still begs the question; if they could revive the refineries, why wasn't it done all these year? NNPCL and government personnel and some politicians were making dirty money from the Crude Swap Deal (CSD) which allows them to sell the minimum of 445,000 barrels scheduled for local consumption to the international market to be paid with Petroleum Products. You have cases of improperly documented shipments of crude oil hence, loss and disappearance of crude oil stock. Shortchanging of price documented against actual price paid to the NNPCL and the cabal. A lot of loop holes for corruption can be traced to that system operated by NNPCL and the CSD then. This profits the cabals, staff of NNPCL and others at the expense of the nation. |
Politics › Re: New Refineries: NNPCL May Cut Crude Supply To Dangote Plant by Wallade(m): 9:40am On Jan 02, 2025 |
HawkTuahGirl: Which was being exported before Dangote Refinery. And Dangote had to drag them to court as a reminder. Yes, Dangote refinery was banking on the minimum of 445,000 barrels supply per day to Dangote refinery. But he forgot that the federal government is not bound to supply the minimum of 445,000 barrels to Dangote refinery solely. The minimum requirement of crude oil for local consumption can be shared to functional refineries in the country. I guess that is why the management of NNPCL aggressively ensured or portrayed PHRC and WRPC as functional to claim significant share of the crude oil for local consumption. The NNPCL has been doing Crude Swap Deal (CSD) with the minimum of 445,000 barrels per day over the years which has enriched their personal pockets because there were so much corruption opportunities for persons in NNPCL and government through the CSD. Now, the power to sell Nigeria's crude oil has been taken away from NNPCL and given to the Ministry of Finance so the NNPCL is forced to only try to get the moribund or legacy refineries functional to get share of the cruse oil designated for local consumption and make money processing it to sell petroleum products to meet Nigeria's demand. Can you now understand the dynamics. Dangote can try to enter an exclusive agrement with an exploration company or buy into ownership (part or full) of one or some of these crude oil producing companies, especially the ones that bought assets of SPDC and ExxonMobil etc. This may allow him secure steady and reliable supply line of crude oil within Nigeria. Dangote refinery can't continue to rely on the Federal government share of the minimum of 445,000 barrels of crude oil scheduled for local consumption. He has to get concrete and reliable agreement to source from other producers of crude oil, especially within Nigeria, to ensure competitive pricing of his products and independence from the attacks of NNPCL. The more refineries that spring up in Nigeria, the new refineries would also have a right to demand a share of the minimum of 445,000 barrels per day crude scheduled for local consumption in Nigeria. |

XAUUSD: So for many years, they made sure that our refineries didn't work...now because of some useless fight for their pockets with Dangote, they are now reviving the refineries in order to frustrate Dangote.
NNPCL is the villain here. All they care about is their pocket. They're not reviving the refineries because they love Nigerians so much and think we're a sweetheart and we've suffered so much, but they're just getting at Dangote.
This mentality I will say in indigenous to Nigeria particularly. This is the same mentality our politicians have, the same mentality our governors, Senators, Local government chairmen, councillors etc have. It's not about the people, but about the themselves.
That being said, it's not surprising cos when you consider the fact that the resources in Nigeria was bought by the British and probably still run by the British through proxies, you begin to understand why even down to the grassroot its a business mentality we all have. It's about "what's in it for me?" There is no patriotism, there hasn't been and there will never be any patriotism in Nigeria, which by the way is just a paper republic. So, until we destroy the building from the foundation and rebuild what we can die for, we are doomed as a people. Brother, the competition in the downstream sector of petroleum products production in Nigeria is good. Especially the recent competition between NNPCL(PHRC and maybe WRPC) and Dangote Refinery. However, NNPCL is trying to monopolize the supply of Crude Oil to PHRC and maybe WRPC to reduce supply to Dangote refinery and ultimately make the price of petroleum products in Dangote refinery more expensive since he would have to source crude oil abroad. That will be an unfair advantage to NNPCL and I expect that the federal government, through the ministry of finance will ensure all refineries get adequate quantity to guarantee domestic supply of petroleum products and prevent unfair advantage to any refinery against the other. All the refineries should be given fair advantage with respect to supply. The quality of petroleum products from Dangote refinery seems better than the quality from PHRC and maybe WRPC. I am also not very confident with reliable supply from PHRC and WRPC. I know Dangote refinery too is a capitalist organization, Dangote has a history of greed, monopolistic tendencies, selfish and exploitative tendencies. However, for the sake of competitive pricing of petroleum products and improved standards of petroleum products in the market, I think Nigeria should ensure that Dangote refinery is provided adequate crude oil guaranteed for local sale and supply in the interest of the nation. |

Fiscus105: The aspects you don't know are far far far, more than the one you know. It would take a whole year of explanation for you to get to latest happenings in Nigeria governance, provided you ready to learn.
* Many of those crude oil you mentioned are also sold out as a debt during Buhari, and it's a must for Tinubu to obey agreement.
*If Govt sells everything in Naira, where would Nigeria gets enough dollars to fund his projects that need dollars to fund No one is asking government to sell all the crude oil in Naira. The current combined capacity of of Dangote Refinery and the functional refineries og NEPAL is less than 1 million barrels of crude oil per day so there is still a difference of 800,000 barrels plus for sale into the international market. Nigeria can as well increase her production of crude oil per day since we are already above the quota recommendations of OPEC |

HawkTuahGirl: The main reason for resurrecting the dead refineries.
By law the must supply local refineries first before exporting. The game is deeper than you can think of. No sir, the law only indicates that minimum of 445, 000 barrels of crude oil daily should be allocated to local refineries in Nigeria to provide petroleum products for local consumption. |
Politics › Re: New Refineries: NNPCL May Cut Crude Supply To Dangote Plant by Wallade(m): 7:52am On Jan 02, 2025 |
It is not good for competition. Why should they cut down Dangote refinery's crude oil supply?
NNPCL is trying to be monopolistic. They are trying to force Dangote Refinery to source crude oil abroad which will ultimately translate to increasing demand for FOREX and higher cost of petroleum products from Dangote Refinery.
I think Federal Government through the Ministry of Finance, the arm that administers the sale of crude oil in Nigeria, should ensure that Dangote refinery is not starved of crude oil for production of petroleum products for local consumption. |

CuriousChidike: If you have the figures of money pumped in for TAM between 2019 and date.. please share them.
No long talk.
And it will be laughable to quote figures used to pay staffs salaries even though the refineries were all shut down..
By the way, the refineries were once producing far lower than 10% capacity, some time more
They were totally shutdown as soon as GMD took office..no turn around maintenance was approved by him and what followed next was inviting Daewoo group, the Italians who built port Harcourt refinery and financiers.
You can hate Government and Nigeria all you want .but what is fact should be spoken of. I am waiting for your figures sir I told you to always read before you comment. I even tried to give you a news publication to read but you still didn't read. is this news publication a lie? https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/748226-timeline-nigerian-govts-failed-moves-unfulfilled-promises-to-revive-moribund-refineries.html?tztc=1In May 2023, the House of Representatives ad-hoc committee on the state of refineries in the country said the federal government spent over N11 trillion on the rehabilitation of the refineries from 2010 to 2023. March 2021: Approval of rehabilitation contract for PHRC: In March 2021, NNPC Ltd said repairs had started at PHRC after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved $1.5 billion for the project. August 2021: Approval of rehabilitation contract for Warri and Kaduna refineries In August 2021, the FEC approved the award of the contract for the rehabilitation of the Warri and Kaduna refineries at the combined total sum of $ 1.5 billion, assuring that rehabilitation works on both refineries would also be carried out on or before May 2023. If you don't believe it then do a research your self online. Google is your friend. You said the refineries were producing 10℅ capacity at sometime and I wonder where they sold the products? If you are working at 10% of your capacity in life then you are probably test running. You are not productive. The refineries have not been working and they have been down even before Kyari became GMD of NNPC/NNPCL. |

CuriousChidike: Which fund was pumped in for maintenance..
As soon as Kyari became GMD..he shut down all the refineries and proposed a total revamp bringing in Daewoo group to rehabilitate Kaduna and Warri refinery, brought in the original builders to rehabilitate Port Harcourt refinery.. The funding model Kyari proposed was through loans. Port Harcourt got $1.5bn ..even Atiku came out to question why rehabilitation will cost such, how much does a new refinery cost..
Buhari later travelled to sign for Kaduna and Warri funding..since them rehabilitation started it's been over 4 years now.
You should blame past NNPC GMDs and presidents especially the ones that told you the refinery can never work but have suddenly gone mute today.
They didn't just start functioning suddenly.. port Harcourt refinery has over 2 years delay in delivery..the contractors have on site for over 3 years. What is your point? Do you mean Federal Government did not invest fund in rehabilitation and turning around PHRC? Do you mean Kyari is not part of the failures that plagued NNPC especially under Buhari? Was he not the GMD of NNPC under Buhari? Are you trying to exonerate Kyrai and the current management of NNPCL? If you are not informed, please read: https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/748226-timeline-nigerian-govts-failed-moves-unfulfilled-promises-to-revive-moribund-refineries.html?tztc=1Let me also remind you that Mele Kolo Kyari assumed office as GMD of NNPCL on 7 July 2019. Please check how much fund the Federal Government has spent on the refineries since 2019 and even before 2019. Then come back to communicate with us. You said "as soon as Kyari became GMD, he shut down all the refineries..... " Oga, all the NNPC refineries in Nigeria have not been producing anything for years even before Kyari became GMD. However, they kept staff and expenses on their books even when they were down. So what are you saying? |

We know that a lot of fund was committed to turn-around PHRC but we didn't hear of any major investment of funds to revamp WRPC.
If the WRPC is now working as reported and producing AGO, Kerosene and Naphtha. This means that the there was a deliberate effort to sabotage and ground the refineries in Nigeria over the years.
Obviously, this must have been because the criminal cabal and saboteurs were making ridiculous dirty and fraudulent money from the Crude Oil Swap Deal (CSD) and stealing some cargoes.
