The Department of State Services (DSS) claimed it had uncovered lists containing names and photographs of security personnel, foreigners and minor/under-aged on the registered members list of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The spokesperson of DSS, Marilyn Ogar, disclosed this on Wednesday at a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday. Ogar also said that video with tutorial for hacking was also uncovered when the service raided a building in Lagos.

She displayed the lists and other items recovered from the building to newsmen.

She also alleged that the APC filled forms without passport photographs, books containing names of people with phone numbers and many envelopes containing passport photographs of people were also recovered.

NAN recalls that operatives of the service raided the building at No. 10, Bola Ajibola St., Ikeja, Lagos state, on Nov. 24, 2014, following a tip-off.

“We suspect that there was an elaborate and well articulated plan to inflate the party’s membership data as well as hack into INEC’s voter registration database,” the spokesperson said.

According to her, this was done through the creation of the party’s membership forms and cards to match INEC’s voters register across the country.

Ogar said that the video of 21 hacking tutorials, “a temporary voter card, a permanent voter card” were also recovered.

“The tutorial video focused on the following areas: How to become a hacker and steps to take to avoid detection in the process of hacking web services.

“Steps and procedures of system hacking, passwords cracking, decrypting, escalating access privileges and creating backdoors to servers,” she said.

Ogar also said that the tutorial clearly explained how to evade security of database such as “Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), firewalls and other measures put in place to deter backers”.

She said the video also outlined ways to identify vulnerabilities in systems and how to cleverly drop a USB flash drive in a target establishment.

She alleged that the drive, when plugged into any commuter, could transmit “malicious codes enough to gain access into and compromise the entire system of the target organisation”.

“The video explains how to hack into the systems of media houses with the aim of broadcasting fake stories or headlines,” she said.

Ogar said that suspects arrested in connection with the raid had been charged to court, while investigation had begun.

She promised to update the public with further developments.

Responding to questions, Ogar said the service had written to the security agencies whose personnel were found on the APC register to investigate their involvement and take necessary actions.

President Goodluck Jonathan has suspended the inauguration of his presidential campaign committee billed to hold at 2:00pm today, following the death of his junior sister, Mrs. Nancy Jonathan-Obei.

Special Adviser to the president on Political Matters, Prof. Rufai Alkali who announced the suspension of the inauguration said in view of the death of the president’s sister, the campaign organisation has decided to suspend the inauguratin.

He said the inauguration has, accordingly, been shifted to tomorrow 11pm.

Alkali urged the gathering to observe one minute silence for the late Nancy.

A terse statement by special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati on Sunday night had noted that the late Nancy died on Sunday at the age of 52 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State after she briefly fell Ill.

Abati’s statement which was made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday evening reads: “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan announces with deep sorrow, the passing away of his beloved junior sister, Mrs. Nancy Jonathan-Olei.

“Mrs. Jonathan-Olei passed away earlier today at a hospital in Yenagoa after a brief illness. She was 52 years old. Burial arrangements will be announced later by the family.”.

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has dared his successor, Governor Ayo Fayose, to investigate his administration or desist from further accusations against him.

Speaking in Akure, on Ondo State-based radio station, ADABA 88.9 FM, Dr. Fayemi warned Fayose against using falsehood as a tool of governance.

Fayemi challenged governor Fayose to probe him if he was sure that he (Fayemi) plundered the state of its resources.
“If they have anything against me, let them institute a probe, I am ready for it”, he stated.

Fayemi, who said that the total debt at the time of his exit was N35billion, also dismissed Fayose’s claim that he (Fayose) left N10. 4 billion in government coffers at the time of his impeachment in October 2006.

The ex-governor stated that records showed that Fayose left only N3.5 billion and a lot of contractor obligations behind.

Fayemi also disclosed that the actual cost of the new Government House, otherwise known as Ayoba Villa was N2.1 billion and that the cost of the complex was lower than any other newly constructed state Government House in the country.
“It is not only fully completed but it is also fully furnished. It is the cheapest Government House built by any government in the 36 states of the federation in recent times.

“That of Plateau State cost N10 billion and that of Kaduna cost N9 billion but we built our own at the cost of N2.1 billion and they are presently doing marble work on the same Government House and they are also doing the roads we have completed.

“If he (Fayose) says he refused to move there, why is he lighting up the place by powering it with diesel? I know the meetings he is holding there because it is a four-in-one building.

“But for you to try and make excuses, that is not acceptable. If God helps you to be there, even if you cheat your way to be there, you need to thank God for the favour He has shown you.

“These lies are unfounded; it is not expected from somebody holding that exalted position. You are sleeping there, your wife is sleeping there.

“Do we have N50 million worth of bed in this world? I want people to ask him to produce the bed of N50 million. I don’t give contract by the words of the mouth, I have papers and documents to back them up and I don’t award contracts to my brothers and family members”, he added.

Fayemi further lambasted Fayose for claiming in his monthly media chat earlier that the new Government House was yet to be completed, maintaining that “the edifice is not only completed but is also fully furnished.”

Fayemi warned Fayose to stop peddling lies and face the serious business of governance instead of reducing governance to comedy which, he noted, was portraying Ekiti in bad light in the comity of states in Nigeria and before the international community.

Fayemi also responded to Fayose’s claim that all the brand new vehicles he (Fayemi) bought for traditional rulers had not been paid for.

He insisted that the cars, which were purchased from Coscharis Motors had been paid for, admitting that only official cars purchased for senior civil servants from the same company were yet to be paid for.

Why should it be OBJ? From the news, I heard he conceived that idea while he was bayelsa governor. I think Alameyesia his former boss whom he set free should take the lead. He has no moral justification to put OBJ's name if his former boss and Kashumu's name aren't there.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday pushed for a designated place to be created and named “Hall of Shame” where names of criminals and societal misfits will be documented.

Stressing that he muted the idea while he was the Governor of Bayelsa State, the President said that it will serve as deterrence to those who may want to indulge in criminality in the country.

The President gave the suggestion on Tuesday while receiving the Legends of Nollyhood, led by its Chairman Paul Obaziele, who conferred on him the title of Grand Patron of the body at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to him, immortalizing the names of criminals in the proposed hall of shame would make families and youth not to be attracted to crimes that could bring shame to their names.

He said: “I heard you saying that you are planning a Hall of Fame, I think we should start thinking of having a hall of shame where the names of criminals would be written. This will serve as a deterrent to those who may want to indulge in criminal activities as they would not want to soil their family names.”

Acknowledging the contributions made by the actors and actresses in the film industry, he eulogized them for contributing to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

He said that the Nollyhood actors have done the nation proud by projecting its culture positively within and outside the country.

Jonathan noted that the country used to be proud of soccer stars in the recent past but since the national team has begun to disappoint the nation, the Nollywood has overtaken them.

He called on the actors to help project agriculture positively in their movies so that youngsters could develop interest in going into the business.

The President assured them of government’s support for the production of such movies.

Speaking earlier, Obaziele sought for more support from the government in terms of welfare.

He also requested for comprehensive health insurance and pension schemes be created for actors and actresses and the provision of accommodation for those who cannot afford decent housing.

Having been sure that the name 'Osinbajo' came out as Tinubu's choice before he decided to make public that he was going 2field himself, and noting that all the governors initially went against the name osinbajo, I believe he presented himself, and knowing he maynot be picked, decided to give †ђξ governors just the only alternative of picking osinbajo.
