Senate President, Chief David Mark, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts to assiduously promote the good works of the party before the electorate so that victory at the various levels where elections will be conducted can be guaranteed for the party. Mark, who disclosed this in Abuja yesterday while addressing party faithful from the North Central Zone comprising FCT, Benue, Nasarawa, Kogi, Kwara, Niger and Plateau States, said:”We want to win convincingly at all levels. There will be no room for any manipulation. We as members of the PDP will not rig. We will not allow opposition parties to rig us out. We have enough evidence to show to the electorate why the PDP remain the preferred choice in 2015, The Senate President consequently advised politicians and political parties planning electoral malpractices to think otherwise because “we are committed to free, fair, credible and acceptable elections.” While enjoining his party members not to take anything for granted, he harped the need for them to strategize and reach out to the electorate ahead of the polls. The PDP chieftain, who acknowledged the challenges posed by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed optimism that PDP had lived up to its billings particularly as regards delivering dividends of democracy to Nigerians. He described the situation as palpable evidence and an indication that it would do more if given another mandate. Senator Mark went on to list the dividends to include return of the railway transport services, improved Road networks, modernized airports, Agriculture and rural development, enhanced power supply, political stability, adherence to the principles of rule of law and human rights as well as freedom of expression under President Goodluck, Ebele Jonathan’s administration. Speaking separately, Governors Gabriel Suswam, Jonah Jang and Babangida Aliyu of Benue, Plateau and Niger States respectively assured that they would work hard to ensure the victory of PDP in the zone. While they regretted the incursion of the APC into their geopolitical zone, the governors insisted that PDP remains the party to beat in the next February’s general elections. http://247nigerianewsupdate.co/february-polls-mark-urges-pdp-faithful-not-to-allow-apc-rig-party-out/ |
Well, the battle has begun for the emergence of a new champion of the African Football. Unfortunately, it iڪ so certain Nigeria will be de-robed of this title as it doesn't have the opportunity to attempt to defend it. Meanwhile, same time the AFCON finals are being sorted on the pitch iڪ the same time the political temperature of nigerian politics iڪ hyped. It iڪ widely accepted that football unites. I maynot be able to say that for politics. My question iڪ: Nigerian non qualification for AFCON, iڪ it a blessing in disguise or a minus for our political tension this year. Do you think if Nigeria had qualified, it would make any difference in 2015 election? What could that be? Could it have helped us this period or raised the nation's "already raised blood pressure?" |

I honestly feel emotional for Jonathan. Despite the insults OBJ has melted out to his person, he still bows 2him for support. But GEJ caused this really. He allowed things 2 degenerate btw him and this old man before he suddenly realised the pivotal role the Egba man has played in his life. I think for GEJ, life has 2move on. He has 2 forge ahead with or without Baba. He has to be a MAN now. Though my vote may not be for him, but I wish he had been more careful 2avoid this situation. Buhari may not win o. But my vote still goes for him 2day. I don't know of Febuhari 14th sha |
