Another Scam? Why can't we just wait till †ђξ final announcement comes? |
I started noticing the same thing early in †ђξ morning when I do my routine checks. I bet it, anytime I can lay my hands on that cat, I'll kill it. I hate cats |
Wait, iڪ that not a police saluting him? Have they returned his security details? |

Obviously the choice of the right VP isn't as easy as the choice of the Presidential candidate himself. APC cannot afford to make any mistakes at this point. Perhaps they should look outside the box now to pacify all. They can't afford to be careless here. They have come this far, and can't afford to sell it out cheaply here. I so submit |
National leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party have hit a deadlock at the Rivers State government lodge in Abuja in a meeting convened to choose a Vice Presidential candidate for the 2015 presidential election. Sources at the meeting said the deadlock arrived after state governors within the party rejected the candidature of former Lagos governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, a former Lagos State Attorney General under Tinubu. SaharaReporters also learned that Mr. Tinubu did not attend the meeting after he sensed the hostility of the governors at the venue towards him, choosing to send emissaries to submit his nominees. The newly-chosen presidential candidate of the party, Muhammadu Buhari, was in attendance but did not utter a word throughout the rowdy meeting, the sources confirmed. After the meeting reached a deadlock, a committee of six leaders chosen from the geo-political zones was set up to resolve the logjam, but after several hours of meeting, it also failed to agree on a candidate. Some members of the committee are Chief Bisi Akande (Southwest), Dr. Chris Ngige (Southeast), Danjuma Goje (Northeast) and Bukola Saraki (Northcentral). The meeting then dispersed with a final directive to Buhari to go ahead and choose whomever he deems fit as his VP. SaharaReporters learnt that Buhari would most likely revert to Tinubu to nominate a candidate for him as a mark of respect and in order to keep his promise to obtain his input. http://saharareporters.com/2014/12/15/apc-meeting-deadlocked-over-choice-vp-candidate |
For those asking who Osinbajo iڪ, I think the problem with the political parties iڪ that they recycle old faces. Now APC iڪ 'introducing' a relatively fresh blood and it appears we are 'complaining'. Perhaps we are the ones encouraging the 'recycling' |
hillsate:You read my mind. I see Amaechi emerging as the SGF. |
OLADD:Lol. You are the one telling me now o. But of course you are also ignorant. A councillor may not get a police detail. But at the guber or national level, you need 2b informed |
PassingShot:Honestly, the APC iڪ the party making us feel like we are practising democracy in Nigeria 2day. They talk less about imposition now and do consultations. Everyone iڪ beginning to enjoy equal rights. I think they have learnt. Above all, they bring all to do table for people to decide and have the final say. Besides, I'm sure pple expected trouble when Atiku lost primaries. But APC seem to be more organised now at the national level. I hope this iڪ sustained |
GboyegaD:You got a point there really. I dare to say that the police only removed his protocols and not his security. I doubt if they were actually providing the latter in the first place anyway |
Former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has rejected offer from his political associates to pick himself as the running mate to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari. The associates of the former Lagos State governor who is also the national leader of the party has been mounting pressure on him to run as he VP to Buhari following the concession giving to him by Buhari to pick this running mate. Buhari, while conceding the VP slot to Tinubu had reportedly told him that he could either choose himself or recommend somebody else for the job, but Tinubu, rather than opting to take the first offer, especially as pressures from his close associates piles him him prefers tht someone else from the South West take the ticket. The major problem for the party now is finding a South Westerner with the kind of political clout, charisma and reach like Tinubu. That, analysts say, is what Buhari needs to ensure the block votes from the region and make forays into other areas. Yemi Osinbajo, Wale Edun, Ayo Opadokun and Senator Mamora are on the shortlist. Mewanwhile, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress APC, led by its national chairman, John Oyegun, have been involved in very wide consultations as to whom the vice presidential candidate to General Muhammadu Buhari should be. Rather than being guided by sentiments and contrary to unsubstantiated insinuations that Bola Tinubu is delaying the process, the party is relying on research and survey findings and looking at the best person who can make up for Buhari’s perceived weaknesses. A party leader scoffed at media reports about the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, being offered the VP slot. “Too many stories are being circulated,” the APC leader, who asked to remain anonymous, said. “While we understand the interest in that position, APC will not be stampeded by anyone.” Investigations show that the party may have conceded the VP slot to the South West region and it’s not going to change that. The region has always being the strong hold for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), one of the legacy parties that merged to form the APC. Apart from that, the bulk vote from the South West combined with votes of Akwa-Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa delivered by Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State gave Buhari a landslide victory in Lagos, a source said. So it would only be natural for the region to produce Buhari’s running mate. The intrigues and permutations notwithstanding, the APC have until Monday afternoon to submit a name. http://247nigerianewsupdate.co/tinubu-rejects-offer-to-run-as-buharis-vp/ |
With all these I ask. What again iڪ the antecedent? Has it been before now that aspirants would have to apply for police escorts/details before they are given? Or iڪ this all about Tambuwal? Did Fayose apply for police details after he emerged? |
The Force Headquarters has yet to restore any security details to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, over one week after it said he would be given police protection.http://247nigerianewsupdate.co/update-tambuwal-should-apply-for-protection-police/ |

The dream of every woman is to find a man to spend her entire life with. Even the Holy religious books have enjoined men and women, to seek each other out and cohabit as man and wife. But as beautiful and simple as this may sound, marriage has long gone from being a simple item on a menu, it has become a task, as finding a true life partner has become as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack. It is particularly more difficult for the womenfolks as they have to be proposed to. As liberated as our society is now, it is hard to find a woman that would go out of her way to propose to a man. The norm is the other way round. So, for a woman, waiting to get a marriage proposal may me as certain as waiting for the proverbial hen to play a golden egg. It doesn’t have to do with beauty, wealth or status, or else all the Nollywood divas would have been long married before they hit their 30s. Why are these ladies still single in spite of their relative affluence and beauty? Meet some of Nollywood singles in their 30s, 40s still single and why: Despite probably being the most popular name in Nollywood, screen goddess Genevieve Nnaji is yet to find a man to call her own. One name that has been linked to the pretty actress is that of the self acclaimed ‘Koko master’, D’Banj. The Imo State-born screen diva is a single-mother who revealed in an interview that she is still single because she is afraid of divorce. “If I get married, I really want to stay married and staying married is not an easy thing. It means you are completely in tune with your partner. It means you have found your soulmate because you will have to be able to stand a lot of disappointments that would definitely come but then again you have to learn to forgive,” she said. http://www.classicgist.com/2014/12/why-i-dont-want-to-get-married.html?fb_ref=Default&fb_source=message |
Pastor Adeboye charges members to obtain permanent voter cards Ahead of the 2015 general election, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has, again, charged members of the church to ensure they obtain their voter cards. The renowned cleric also sounded a note of warning, perhaps, jocularly, that an evidence of having obtained the card would be the prerequisite for members of the church to obtain the New Year blessings from their pastors during the 2015 annual thanksgiving service coming up first Sunday of January. Pastor Adeboye, popularly called Daddy G.O., gave these charges late Friday night while addressing the mammoth worshippers that gathered at the Congress Arena, Redemption Camp, kilometer 46, Lagos – Ibadan expressway, Ogun State, for the annual Holy Ghost Congress. The man of God, who displayed his copy of the permanent voter card (PVC) and that of his wife, Folu, admonished members of the church to go extra mile to obtain the voting instrument from the headquarters of their local government areas before the crucial 2015 election. He said come first Sunday of January, which is usually the mission’s annual thanksgiving day worldwide, members must come to church with their PVCs before “we pronounce blessing of the New Year on you.” Adeboye, who preached on the theme of the congress, “The Great Shepherd,” described the PVC and voting as the people’s power to effect the change they desire in the political landscape of the country. He recalled that his earlier instruction handed members of the church to display their PVCs to their pastors during the last December monthly thanksgiving was not strictly adhered to, inferring that many may not have obtained the cards. Meanwhile, Pastor Adeboye has urged worshippers gathered at the Holy Ghost Congress to make donations to ameliorate the sufferings of victims of insurgency in the northern part of the country. While acknowledging that thousands of Nigerians have been displaced from their homes with accompanying shortage of food, shelter and clothing, the cleric enjoined the gathering to make the donations in cash and kind for onward disbursement to the victims. He also announced that as of Friday evening, no fewer than 32 babies of 19 boys and 12 girls had been born since the 2014 Annual Holy Ghost Congress began last Monday. http://247nigerianewsupdate.co/pastor-adeboye-charges-members-to-obtain-permanent-voter-cards/ |

IKJ66:Ɣ don't you show us the pix of dirtier Abuja where money was wasted just to ratify a candidate. Do you think they'll clean up Abuja faster than Lagos? I'll vote for Jona if he only shows me the Robots that cleaned Abuja instantly |
I know he won't want to die young. If only Yaradua had listened and didn't go into the forefront. I hope Tinubu learns cos of his health too. |

Seriously, a Buhari/Okorocha would have been better. But I'd have rather preferred buhari/Osinbajo |
Ok |
Can't we have all of them? |
ceo4eva:Sidon there. Oju e la se. |
Even if it appears like counting the eggs before they are hatched, I see Atiku carrying the day, not probably because he's the best candidate, but because to me, he has gone to the grassroot delegates to seek support. What may prevent this iڪ if some powers that be in APC have mandated delegates in their states/constituencies to give Buhari the day. For Okorocha, he's only trying to make a statement. I don't see him as being serious for now. Well, for Kwankaso, a great guy I would say, but perhaps not just his time cos he yet doesn't appear to be a popular candidate nationally. Speaking about Isaiah, I say, it iڪ well. |
I think it iڪ good business for APC. Labour sharing PDP's votes in 2015 |
Alao-Akala dumps PDP for Labour Party FORMER governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, has formerly declared for Labour Party (LP). The former governor, who dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside thousands of his supporters on Monday evening, at his Bodija residence, said the decision was made based on the demand by his teeming supporters to quit PDP. At an enlarged meeting of stakeholders in Ibadan, some of the leaders of the party, who are sympathetic to his course, said the reason behind the call to quit PDP was basically because of insincerity and injustice. Mr Abraham Ojo, his media aide, in a press statement on behalf of Alao-Akala, said “thousands of supporters of the former governor stormed the Bodija residence to delibrate on the way forward, after the injustice meted to him by the PDP. “After series of meetings and discussions, they all decided to dump the PDP and move to an alternative party, which is Labour Party.” Among the party leaders at the meetings were chief Jacob Adetoro, Chief Adigun Irawo, General Yusuf Braimoh, past commissioners, local government chairmen, among others. They argued that there was no basis for them to remain in PDP, because the party had refused to toe the line of truth. “Everybody in the state knows that Alao-Akala and his supporters are strong pillars that hold the party and if a genuine delegate congress is conducted, Alao-Akala will always win, but since the national secretariat has given in to the manipulations of the minotity in the party, we have no option but to quit,” they said. While debunking insinuations that they participated in PDP primaries, Ojo said Alao-Akala had made his intention to quit the party known since Sunday, after meeting with his teeming supporters in Ogbomoso and later today (Monday) in Ibadan, even before the process started. “It is laughable and ridiculous to say Alao-Akala scored two votes in the primaries he did not even particiapte in. He is a political giant who has been a bride to all political parties in the state since the PDP travails started,” he said. http://247nigerianewsupdate.co/alao-akala-dumps-pdp-for-labour-party/ |
I support APC on many grounds. I like Remi Tinubu as a person. But Remi Tinubu as a Senator again ??Haba! What came out of her in the first tenure. We all knew how vocal Senator Olorunibe Mamora was in his time.............. |
