PoliticsRe: Akeem Akintunde's Post Before The Crash by wallex1983(m): 4:47pm On Oct 07, 2013
eddiebruk: Enough reason to know that the whole thing was spiritual, and that those who died were used for sacrifice, he must have been paid and knew what was going to happen.
So someone's reasoning can be this shallow.... Must someone be paid before plane crashes? Must we always write sometin just because writing is free?

Seyi Godspower: Ogunwale or what the nonsense do you call yourself, My advice for you is to always be gallant in defeat. Make it a date to be visiting this thread from time to time as you will soon bury your ugly head in shame when the good news filtered in here that we have been called.
See the way you guys are just attacking this guy. I see nothing wrong in what Ogunwale has said. On the contrary, I see anxiety in the writings of his critics. You can't start Naptin training without your documentation with TCN. And my sincere advice: you better take your mind off 21st for Naptin. You will still do the training, but 2 start it on the 21st, a miracle will have to happen. I'm not out 2set out issues for debate but if I talk here as a person who just concluded †ђξ 1 year Naptin training and as a potential TCN appointee, its possible I knw what I'm talking abt. Only time will tell, and I sincerely pray I am grossly wrong.

I would like to tell you guys that †ђξ 1yr training iڪ an interesting one. I dnt knw if ♈ōϋ will be paid full salary. (I ŊO̶̷̩̥̊͡ be TCN). Bt if we could pay so much for it, why complain when you are not paying for it? I even recommend to whoever can afford it bt wasn't called for appointment τ̅☺ do it. ♈ōϋ ♍aƔ get to meet pple. aπϑ that might be needful later at some point.

Someone asked if Naptin trainees are employed. †ђξ answer iڪ: som pple resigned their jobs for †ђξ program last year, a lot were not employed, some got jobs along †ђξ line aπϑ left aπϑ someone like ♍ε̲̣̣̣̥ was able τ̅☺ manage it with ♍Ɣ job.
†ђξ training ♍aƔ be worthwhile. Some of us now ♍aƔ have τ̅☺ choose btw †ђξ job we are doing aπϑ D̅is tcn job.
I am taking tcn, not because they pay better than ♍Ɣ current job, but for †ђξ prospects. God bless

EducationRe: ASUU Withdraw From Negotiation With Government by wallex1983(m): 3:55pm On Aug 23, 2013
As far as I am concerned if it is money we are fighting for, then we are not being considerate. I agree the salaries are not enough. But I am comfortable with my salary even as a very young lecturer. (If they increase it, I will appreciate it). But if it is infrastructure they are asking for, then I see no reason why a state university like mine should join. Afterall, when and if govt dances to their tunes, only the federal schools would have all the infrastructures. Who then fights for the state univesities like mine? We are used to this. National strikes don't benefit state schools.
Besides, I doubt if we have the interest of the students at heart

As much as I can't confirm †ђξ immediate cause, I strongly believe it stands τ̅☺ reason, based of †ђξ little observation I ♓ανε noticed IΩ̴̩̩̩̥ †ђξ system within †ђξ past 12months or thereabout. I will however not want τ̅☺ suggest †ђξ reasons here cos its not confirmed. But it maynot be unconnected with †ђξ issues of settlements of phcn staffs vis-a-vis funding also for training new intakes. I don't totally exclude "runs" factors, bt every new employee will go 2ru a structured training which dey refer τ̅☺ as "pupilage". It will involve field aπϑ classroom training. Classroom ♍aƔ take btw 2-3months.... I think what I will Ju̲̅s̲̅t say now iڪ: expect τ̅☺ resume within 2weeks of their next contact with us. aπϑ of cos, their recruitment plan (resumption) iڪ not earlier dan mid-september.

@Piro, there iڪ no course for alarm. If ♈ōϋ are on bbm and ♈ōϋ belong to our bbm forum, there has been a discussion since last 9t based on headmaster's interview on AIT last nite. Someone asked if it was runs. Pple never entered naptin tru runs. That was †ђξ first set. Its a training skul where ♈ōϋ pay τ̅☺ enter. I currently ♓ανε ♍Ɣ well paying job aπϑ went there τ̅☺ learn abt †ђξ power sector. Even though I fit port τ̅☺ mtn...sorry tcn *laughs*..., based on †ђξ future ☺f̶̲̥̅̊ †ђξ industry. I really didn't have the time to go 2ru all †ђξ posts on this topic. Bt I saw someone say that Naptin doesn't have †ђξ facility to train. Let me tell you that not less than 130 of us who are currently rounding off our one year training with Naptin wrote †ђξ test and a good number of us took †ђξ interview too. Naptin has †ђξ facilities. You may visit our Ijora or Kainji training centre if ♈ōϋ wish. Yes, during our inauguration for †ђξ program last year, we were told that some pple who will train in transmission may be sent to India and not even canada for a new technology they are looking into. Bt that would definately not be everyone. I have enjoyed this training. Everyone that iڪ employed will still come for this same training

Nairaland GeneralIs This Empowerment? Waste Pushers Banned, Okada Banned, Skul Fees Upturn by wallex1983(op): 6:42am On Dec 11, 2012
I used to love this man. I still like him. But now< I cant describe what i like him for. We talk abt job creation, educational empowerment, etc. A lot of pple made ends meet with local waste collection, they were banned. Okada riding provides job to thousands, no we are phasing it out. School fees in LASu is trouble.... I just begin to wonder how the masses will survive. Mr BRF, if you are listening, i am just thinking aloud.

PoliticsRe: FG Suspends DANA Airline's License. by wallex1983(m): 9:25pm On Jun 05, 2012
I have seen the end of all these. Senate is saying the executive should have worked on preventing it, keeping silent on the fact that they have a duty to perform oversight. They forgot that if they have done their oversight right, it may have been averted.
Federal government (EXECUTIVE) is saying this must be probed because it could have been averted thereby sacking Demuren as though he was the pilot or the engineer working on Dana plane, or perhaps they have not heard or notice Dana aircrafts old-age (at least wen they go to airport). Who will Demuren blame nowhuh Dana said this plane was working fine and had flown two times that day. If we must blame the engineer, where is he? Perhaps the pilot should have insisted on not flying wen he noticed the aircraft was not in good order, but where is he today.
In short, I do not know wat to say and do not intend to make sense cos i am disheartened,............But.....
Perhaps "what would be would be........."
But this could have really been averted....
nevertheless, Who are we to blame?
Well, I can see already that this case would be forgotten within the next 7 days again cos our leaders are all shifting responsibilities
Nairaland GeneralAgain, What Is The Ideal Retirement Age For Professors? by wallex1983(op): 6:31am On May 22, 2012
I understand the position of the academia to an extent. Most of them attain their professorial status late in life. You find very few professor who are below 50years. Their position is this: If it takes so long to become a professor, Perhaps u become one at 60. Would have to pass the knowledge just for 5years and then retire? Of what use is all the knowledge you have acquired if u cannot pass it across?.....
But do we then say that they should remain in class forever and die untimely when they are supposed to be reaping the fruit of their labour?
FG has said it should be 65. Academia is saying 70. It caused a lot of problems and it was reverted. Yet lecturers are dying of stress, heart attack and what have u. What can we do, bearing in mind again that many of this retired professors get short-changed by being employed again as contract staff, into the same universities they lectured; still working, but being paid less than what they should earn. How do we place these variables people?
EducationRe: Unilag HOD E. A. Bassey Dies Of Heart Attack by wallex1983(m): 6:15am On May 22, 2012
swisstaker: its quite a tragedy.bt seriously dis retirement age tin sef.retiring at 70?thats y dem day go like dat.want to die in service.give way for d young.dat was wat i saw at a tanksgiving service in my schooo uniport.wen it was time to dance forward to drop ur offering,na so dis proff day shake go front,he slowed d pace of d pple in d queue.wen he finally got there to comot him wallet see as his whole body was shaking,ok comot wallet drop offering na,na war.if no b wan other elderly man way carry am comot for line so im go giv pple chance.so una see my point,na dis same prof go climb stairs to reach im office for 7th floor
If a man bags or becomes a Professor at 62 (going by the late age many of them attain that status) and he uses it to lecture for 3years, and retires at 65, Of what use is his attainment?
EducationRe: Unilag HOD E. A. Bassey Dies Of Heart Attack by wallex1983(m): 8:55pm On May 21, 2012
I met him once. I went to his office. They call him chief. I don't know why he was called by that name. Cos he looked more of a great scholar than the chief thing
PoliticsRe: Why Will GEJ Increase Fuel Price And Yet Not Give Us Electricity? How Do We Cope by wallex1983(op): 3:12am On Apr 07, 2012
This is so pathetic to me. And I find it very unbearable. In a country where we cry of 'no jobs' everyday, If I sum up what I spend necessarily on fuel daily because of the kind of work I am involved in, I realise it is enough to feed at least two moderate families comfortably for a month. Can't someone just hint Mr President on this? Mr Moderator, Do we have a means of telling Mr President this? Again can u pls move this to the front page, I am finding it difficult to do
