LagosismyHome: Passport book number or Passport number ? . Two different things but i think you probably need your passport no On the page that has your picture (photopage ) there is a number listed below , usually very long with some <<< as well with your passport number, birthday details and other numbers ....... that is the passport book no . Its too long and prone to you typing it in error so i doubt if you need to put this in , i have only used it once but it was not for embassy stuff
but if you need only Passport no , check your photo page , it listed under Passport no , with an A....... In addition at the end of each page on the passport there number is writing there.. |

LagosismyHome: I think d key difference is.... if u are asked before admission then u are expected to show the full balance.....but if asked after admissions and if given scholarship then the bank balance u show is less the amount of scholarship. The schools will always tell applicants the amount they want on the statement. |

fatanu: Going for Msc, can't i tender only TOEFL when the VO ask for any standardize test. Sure you can but if your school requires GRE for the course and the VO interview you is aware since some VO are fondly aware of some schools requirement then you have be to ready to tell VO why you didn't write GRE Also try write GRE it will help you in future to secure funding |

Fortissimo502: Yeah true. But christobam was asking about sending bank statements before admission. Hence my post. He said he can't ask his aunty for her bank statements before he gets admission. That's why I sed he should look for another. In my experience, i didn't see many schools that requested bank statements before they offer you admission. That's an unecessary application burden. I understand your previous and Presley post but the truth is that each schools have their own policy.. Some schools ask applicant to send before making admission decision while some will ask applicant to send as soon as they are admitted so that they can issue i20 immediately for them. |

Well I will say you can get your documents within 2weeks to 4 weeks if you stay in Lagos or you don't get it at all sometimes the system disappoint and fumble If it's outside Lagos, you can get it within 3 weeks to 8 weeks or you don't get it all at if the system disappoint. It's unfortunate that regular mail doesn't have tracking for you to know how it's moving.. |

LagosismyHome: If u have a good sat then don't limit yourself to only this school ..... There are other full ride scholarship for undergraduate and also schools that don't ask for bank statement upfront. A good no ask for it after admissions Exactly before they issue i20 to successful applicants |

Everybody's case is different so, Goodluck! As for that bank statement ehn,the average school would ask for it. I stand to be corrected. I All schools ask for it before they will issue i20 to applicants |

LagosismyHome: If d exchange rate has been going down sometimes then u can say maybe take the risk and see what it becomes after 04 ....but all the dollar has been going is up up up not down agains the naira so it more likely either it stays the same or go up ..... not likely going down not for now . How u decide is your choice to make ooo . I don't think it will come down after 4th of this month and a new date will be put on the site when the new rate will expire.. But I find it hard to understand why they keep putting date when the rate with expire anytime a new rate is given and not using CBN rate? Is like US embassy on their own doesn't want their dollars to come down in Nigeria at all. |

kenniez26: Reference from Nigeria USA visa website the visa fees for f 1 student in naira is 53600 naira.the value was gotten my multiplying the visa fees in dollar which is 160 by the consular exchange rate which is 335.this exchange will be expired by 04/10/2016 according to the website.my question is whether the consulate exchange rate of 335 is based on black market rate or CBN rate?because I think if it based on CBN rate the fees in naira might actually reduce but if it is based on black market rate na gobe be that ooooo.I actually want to know if I can pay it now before 04/10 or wait till after 04/10
Cc lagosismyhone , walspring, Christian and other gurus You can go ahead and pay now and with the way I am seeing this it will go up because few years ago same thing was posted on their site and it rises from 26400 to 31200 to 48000 and now 53600.. With this I guess dollars will still reach 700 naira before the end of this year.. Anyway if you have faith that it will come down and they will use CBN rate then wait but with the new and useless CBN policy it won't come down since CBN gave banks order to source for dollars and put their own rate on it.. |
