Please after canceling a later appointment date for b1b2 but now the same MRV payment being used for f1/F2 as linked by the embassy and appointment booked for May 2023 with program start date of 12th August 2022. Please how many time one can be rescheduling for earlier dates if available on the portal without affecting the change of Emergency request. As I just found an available date in November 2022. Is it advisable to select this date and still checking for an earlier date before I apply for emergency date

Cancellation is once and doing it the second time you forfeit the visa fee.

Hello guys please I need a confirmation on my admission packet, it has been sent to me via mail I’m talking of my I20 and admission letter. Do I have to request for the original from school to be sent to me or the one sent electronically via mail is enough to be used at the embassy?

Since covid schools have been sending i20 via electronic and it’s accepted at the embassy so you are good to go.

Most schools have been sending i20 via email since covid era and it’s accepted by embassy.

My program is for summer 2022 and and i got denied EA at abuja, on my portal it still show i can still apply for an EA. The question now is do I abandon it and pay for a new visa fee and if i’m doing that do i need to fill another ds-160

You can still use same ds160 and no need to fill another one provided you are okay with what you filled there.

Try and use it to apply for EA still it’s showing but if the site update after 24-48 hours it might not be showing request EA.

Give it trial and if it doesn’t work then get a new visa fee and request for fresh EA

Hi please I would like to know when submitting i20 for ea, did you upload a signed i20 I.e you signing where you ought to sign on the form or the one that came from the school without your own signature

You don’t upload i20 when filling ds160 only upload passport photograph

You signed the i20 yourself if you are 18 years and above. Below 18 years the guardian or parent sign on their below.

Make sure your i20 is signed before going for your interview

Failure to complete and submit is the main reason why it was denied.

Please guys i need urgent help…..My resumption date is June 9 so i requested for an emergency interview date but i got a response yesterday that my request was denied.I thought i attached all the necessary documents which are I-20, Sevis fee, visa fee, ds-160.
I need help please as my resumption date is getting closer and I can’t seem to get a date.
This was the response i got from them:-

Lemme ask are you going for FALL 2022 or Summer 2022 because If you are going for FALL 2022, your resumption date can’t be June 9th.

Also if you got denied for emergency date it could still be because your Visa fee has once been used to cancel interview date before.

Since you can only cancel once on a visa fee you hard get emergency date with it unless you are lucky the person processing it over look it.

To all those applying for emergency date and saying it was denied, I hope you guys meet up with the rules before applying?

Because you can only apply for emergency date 60 days before your class resumption or school resumption.

You can request for Emergency date just 60 days to you resumption and I hope you meet up before applying at all ?

3 previous B1/B2 denial in Lagos alone
1 previous B1/B2 denial in Lagos with 2 children and wife in 2018.
Now Associate Degree programe in Web Development

There were 3 Consular Officers on desk, two men and a woman at the middle desk. I have been praying to meet the woman cos I observed she is calm and reasonable with applicants, she gave a young couple that even the wife's pregnancy is so glaring a visa with smiles and wish them safe journey to US but denied the next applicant she interviewed, yet I wish I met her but I was called in another window.

To the interview ....

Me: From online, from my research online
VO: What course are you going for
Me: Web Development
VO: Have you travelled out of Nigeria before
Me: Yes I have been to Ghana

Me: (Without confidence and lowered voice this time) I have websites which I operates but there are some difficulties I'm facing which google always give me reports to debug but I could not so I want to go for Web Development to be able to rectify the issues.
VO: Sorry you are not qualify for F1 visa now.

I was so weak and heavy to even talk to anybody, people that are outside waiting to be called in can also read my feelings. It was after my interview that one of my friends now hint me about Nairaland.

I don’t know your age but going for associate degree with your age after 2-3 delayed is no go area at all because is like you telling VO you want to go and start polytechnic at that age after you have been out of secondary school for over 10-15 year and you were previously delayed.

What many of us don’t know is not about going to apply and face VO but doing the right thing and cover loopholes that could trigger delay.

Alternatively, get a dollar-dominated card but last I checked, it costs $100 to obtain (ask your bank). Another option is to contact the Nairalander - Walspring - to help you pay (plus his service charge). The best option is if you have someone abroad who pays with his/her card and you re-pay the person in a naira bank account s/he tells you to deposit into. This option has to do with trust and level of rapport. There is also Barter by Flutterwave but the day I tried it, it did not work and was way too horrible.
