Julius1717: i greet everyone, pls I need your help on something. I have a uncle who is in the u.s for more than 20 years now and is a green card holder , he is a brother to my late mother so we don't answer the same surname. He wants me to come and join him in the u.s , He wants me to come with a visiting visa , and said the student visa takes time, Pls I want to know what my chances are because I only have a high school certificate which I got 6 years ago, Have just been into normal hustling and I have less than 200k in my account... And also what I want to also ask is if I get there will I be able to get a green card ? Even when am coming with a visiting visa... Pls anyone should pls enlighten me ... Thanks all Actually this is a studnet visa thread and not visiting visa thread, am not sure if there is a thread for visiting visa but justwise can help on this by posting the link. The truth of the matter is how will you convince the VO by proving home times with the less than 200k and other things? (please dont think am mocking you). If your uncle is ready to foot all the bills for you to come and visit then you just need to prove to VO that you will come back and if by any means your uncle package himself to get green card by marrying US citizen just as you are thinking, It will be hard for VO to grant the visa because their thought will be like you wont come back and your uncle will teach you what he did to get his green card. In all with God all things are possible |

happyday: If you're in your 4th year for a 4-year course, I think you should stay. Even 5-year course. Finish what you started, well. Except you're heavily loaded as per cash and/or you're top of your class in an highly competitive department, your chances of getting a transfer admission is slim. You'll need to secure admission first, before discussing visa. Wonderful quote! |

Skmoney: My aunty in the USA who wants to help me apply into a uni in the USA said I have to pay school fees going to like #25,000 dollars before I can apply at the embassy for visa.... How True is this guys and is the #25,000 dollars meant for tuition alone Well i don't know the school that your aunty is talking about most schools in US doesn't ask prospective/freshman student to pay school fee before applying the embassy for visa. Even paying the money doesn't guarantee visa approval by the VO because you will be interview and answer some question to prove that you are going to US for your studies. Everyone on this thread who got their visa didn't pay the school before applying at the embassy, the only person that i am aware and paid half payment is one guy (junior but i forget his real name) and his school is in Florida, yet he still went for interview before the VO granted his visa. |

Mztadhee: Hi, I have been a silent follower of this thread for sometime. It's so good to see fellow Nigerians taking up responsibility to assist fellow Nigerians on visa issues. More grease to our gurus elbow. Please, I will like to be helped on some questions: I am a 4th year student of at a state university, but I have grown frustrated due to insistent strikes. I checked up few universities online, and got to know some of them accept transfer of UG credits from foreign students. 1. What are my chances of getting admitted for the remaining part of my study? 2. Is securing visa really possible , giving such a case? Thanks bosses! I will strongly advice that you should endure and round up your Bsc degree here in Nigeria and use it to apply for Msc in the US because you will have upper chance and have it in mind that they don't catch late comers coming to US to study, so exercise patience as well. Start reading from previous parts and to learn more from this thread and also start researching for schools of your choice and before you finish your Nysc, you already have admission in any of the US schools for your masters degree.. Wishing you all the best |

The remaining 30% subsidy was booked by some NL'DERS but I keep hearing I need it next month, next year... We do not know what next month or year holds neither are my co-facilitators comfortable with hogging of opportunities, so I am throwing it open, It is strictly on a first come basis and I will not be keeping nor reserving a slot for anyone. I will be contributing to plauses subsidy scheme at the end of the month by Gods grace God bless you all for this scheme... Una too gbaski and too much... |

ugosshhh: Oga Walspring..... Tnx, i dont intend to change anything in my next ds 160 form that am filling but i intend to state that the reason for the denial is because the VO wasn't comfortable with the statement because no justifiable source of the money..... Ok? Also do i have to pay another sevis fee and is there a time frame before booking for my next interview? Your won't pay another sevis fee because sevis fee lasted for a year or 365 days You only pay for new visa fee |

keyboardone: @ justwise, @LagosismyHome, @Walspring, @ gentledoj etc Good day everyboby.
I want to ask...
Is it possible for me to do a PERSONAL RESEARCH on a particular topic and get it publish? If it is possible, do i need to get a lecturer to endorsed it for me? or just go ahead and publish it?
NOTE: I'm not a master(graduate student), just a BSc.
I DON'T HAVE A JOB, HENCE I NEED TO GET TO WORK ON SOMETHING. Sure or possible but you need to join an associate that you can publish it it their journal and I don't know if you have heard of jornal publication before? Most lecturers and professors that you see are member of one association and another and they publish their research paper work in the association journal. Maybe while you are doing your undergraduate degree back then and you call vividly, you will see in your department or other department, your faculty or other faculty where they post about CALL FOR PAPER and they asked those lecturers to submit a research paper on a given topic and states the requirement needed as well. |

ugosshhh: Hello House,
Ok...i was denied on friday @ abuja embassy. My transcript goes like this.
VO: Good Morning Me: Good Morning sir. VO: pass me your passport VO: So you are going for studies Me: yes* the Vo cuts in VO: can i have your I.20 VO: Why Arkansas tech University Me: having realised the great practical exposure available at the faculty of engineering through the power system laboratory & control system laboratory, it will be a good fit for me as an aspiring professional Engineer. VO: what will you be studying Me: A master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering. VO: why a university in the US, couldn't you get this education else in Nigeria Me: i could get this degree in Nigeria but considering the blending of practical experience and theoretical experience which i seek and most Nigeria universities basically wont give me a practical exposure. Also the Us educational system is highly ranked globally* The VO Cuts VO: how did you hear about the school Me: a family friend attended the school some years back and recommend it, so i looked it up at usnew.com to know more about the school VO: Why Arkansas Me: i think i started messing up from here because my brian told me he asked why arkansas tech not why arkansas, either way i responded saying, i did apply to another school but* The VO cuts in VO: which school Me: Cleveland State University, and i was offered admission, but because of the masters nature in Arkansas tech which is a Master of Engineering not Master of Science* the VO cuts in VO: who will be sponsoring u? Me: my inlaw VO:what does that mean Me: my sisters husband VO: what does he do? Me: He is a senior Financial Account @ Shell Nigerian VO: Do you have anything to show his financial capability? Me: Yes...handes the statement of account to him VO: why does the account go from nothing to something real quick? Me: that is his salary account which you will spot the constant salary from shell every month ending, so he withdrawals it most times VO: why did he loan so much money {28million in march)...starts typing Me: He didn't loan the money, he is financially capable and also owns a property in PH that generates him more money...bla bla bla, VO was stil typing. VO: sorry i wont be approving ur visa.
My people in the house, kindly help and tell me wat to change before next interview. Though i equally bleeped up too, i didnt Carry sponsorship letter, letter from shell starting his gross income, also his pay slip and all these are available. He currently earns abt 2million plus mnthly.
Please help to tell me where my responses were out of place and what can be done in respect of the financial capability of my sponsor.
Note: i think i was also a lil bit nervous, the questions were flying in and he looked and sounded mean, everybody was avoiding him that morning. Sorry about your delay and don't give up and try work on your lapses and God will favour you in your next interview @bold 1I believe the VO assumed or sense lodging of cash within a short period of time and which is not a good idea and always @bold 2Be careful of what to change when filling your next ds160 so that it wont affect you during the interview, just be persistent with the details you filled before and if possible add to it and nothing is bad by doing that. Also be careful of trying to show VO documents if they didn't request for it |

It was listed on WES site and try look for it then compare the two together Please don't think of the cost but think of quality and not quantity. |
