Any one with info?

Both my Nigerian passport and the F1 visa on it will expire in June (2016) but my i-20 is valid till Sept 2017. I will be in Nigeria for spring break and I will like to renew my passport via dropoff after obtaining a new passport. Does anyone know how long it takes to get dropoff sorted out in Lagos for F1 visas? Or precautions I need to take; as in experiences with dropoffs. Thanks

I started my application to University of Minnesota and they asking me to upload an unofficial transcript, I tried doing that but upload is not going through page by page. Once I upload the first page and I try to upload the second it automatically cancels the first.

Also they require I submit all my documents online like my recommendation letters, SOP before I submit my application. And please do any one know where I can write GRE in ibadan.

As regards the the recommendation letter they said they would send a link to the email of the people who will recommend me and they will fill and submit online. Who would you guys advise I use for the recommendations.

I don't know what to do.

Hello People, I'm new on nairaland and I hope i'm going about this the right way.
My question is, will the embassy accept an affidavit for a misspelled middle name on a passport? You see, my name is Omowumi but some people write it as Omowunmi. All my academic credentials bears Omowumi but my passport is in Omowunmi. Will this cause problems? The process of change of name of passport in Nigeria is cumbersome, frustrating and very expensive.
Will an affidavit be enough if issues arise on it at the embassy? PLS TELL ME YOUR VIEW. Help!!![color=#000099][/color]

To legalize your document, You have to first take your transcript to Federal Ministry of education for authentication, then you take it to Federal Ministry of Foreign affairs for legalisation both at Abuja. Legalisation should be for like hours or Maximum of 24hrs. The two ministry is at Jose Matri in Asokoro.. A friend of mine did that last year..

It's okay. Whatever rock their boat. Naira is gradually turning to Zimbabwean Dollar. May God have mercy!! The electronic i ordered in the US cost me a lot of Naira, I had to tell the white guy to stop for other items.

Those that filled the DS-160 recently, did you actually upload a picture in your application or you skipped that part and went to the embassy with a passport photo instead. This new method get as e be.

Taking standardized tests before one arrives is a lot better. Being in the class with those whose official language is not English is pitiful. It becomes more laughable if he or she cannot pass.

If you are referring to money for upkeep for some weeks before you settle down, I think the maximum you can have on you is $10,000 (not sure).
