amanze15: Bros mattew1234, thank you for sharing ur experience at the POE at far away UAE, "Custom and border protection offices will review your documents and compare the information with your SEVIS records, if the CBP office at the port of entry cannot verify the student's information, or if the student does not have all of the required documentation, the officer may direct the student to an interview area known as a secondary inspection, secondary inspections allow inspectors to conduct additional research to verify information without causing delays for other arriving passengers. Being PREPARED reduces the risk that you will be sent for secondary inspection" culled from somewhere, no body would send u home for anything, show them your passport with Visa, form i-20, ur flight tickets and be within the 30 days to resumption, @bold... What of if its not within 30days to resumption what will happen to that person |

Though I saw guys being sent back from Abu Dhabi bc of same issue. Well how is it not always like that sir But lemme ask this question Is your Orientation July 13th or August 13th When you answer this i will type the following words i want to post since you said its not always like that |

BloodyMitch: Walspring and Deetus thank you both for your response, I appreciate so i will go ahead and tell them i work. Please i have one more question. Also i have a sister in the states and in my previous forms i have been filling i have a sister but my friend is saying i should omit that in the form. but i do not think is right as it might not tally with what the have on my records. what do you guys think? Dont omit it since you have filled it before that you have a sister there and you got visa with it so why do you want to change or lie about it now.. Also remember that you have good travelling history because you went there before and also came back without violating any of their country rules and laws.. Please dont let that your friend mislead you at all with what she told you because Her own profile is different from yours.. |

BloodyMitch: Hi, everyone i just discovered this thread. I have a question where i work my boss pays us by transferring money into our accounts as there are no tax deductions and all as he is avoiding paying tax himself. In my form d-160 I don't know if to fill that am currently employed under my boss or that i do my own business as i do not want them looking at my statement and asking for my tax deductions. Even though am not the one sponsoring myself, my aunty is the one sponsoring me and i have her bank statement to show. But a friend of mine that is in the US said they wouldn't even look at my own bank statement, just that of my sponsor that they are concerned about. What do you guys suggest please? Just be sincere when filling that aspect because you will be ask how much your salary is, make sure you say what you exactly filled on your ds160... Although every applicant interview questions varies and are slightly different. |

djmakson: “The Lord shall give me the tongue of the learned that I shall know what to speak to the Consular.” That was my declaration adapted from Isaiah 50 vs 4. Arrived the Consulate at about 6am. Did the usual checking (about 40 of us for the 6.30am batch) and we got into the final hall. Did our biometrics and thereafter sat patiently for the VOs to arrive. It got to my turn at about 7:30am and I was called to window 10 by a guy presumably in his late 30s. The following conversation which spanned for like 3 minutes ensued between us.
Me: Good morning (with a smile) and how was your night? VO: Good morning and fine thank you. Let me have your documents please. Me: I passed them. VO: Why are you going to US? Me: For my Masters in Business Admin & Mgt. VO: What school? Me: University of *****in ***** VO: You applied to any other school? Didn’t hear him well so I quickly responded “Pardon”? And then he asked again. Me: Yes. I named two other schools (Framed). VO: So why the school? Me: The school has the exact curriculum that matches my profile and as well have seasoned professionals both on-field and off-field in the likes of Dr. ****** and Mr ***** offering globally relevant education that will make me fit anywhere in the world. He cuts in VO: Where did you graduate from? Me: OOU VO: What course? Me: Economics. VO: Did you write GMAT? Checking my i-20 Me: No, I wrote GRE. (It was waived but I wrote it cos I discovered here that it’s always been asked for) VO: What was your score? Me: 302. I then passed the UNOFFICIAL score sheet I printed from my ETS account. He checked and returned it. VO: What would the degree do for you? Me: It will equip me with the required skill to manage my dad’s business efficiently when I return to Nigeria. VO: Who’s sponsoring you? Me: My Dad. VO: What does he do? Me: I told him. VO: Picking the collection letter, he said “I’ll approve your visa. Pick it up at this circled place on Saturday. Goodluck” Me: Thank you.
No financial document was asked for.
My profound gratitude to God who made it happen. Special thanks to this wonderful personality in Innovativeame who consumed his call credit on lengthy calls just for sessions of dummy interviews for my sake. Only God can reward you bro. Special thanks to those who keep the forum alive and interesting.
To prospective interviewees, God as well as confidence is key as it has always been emphasised here. I experienced that today. Thanks and God bless

Urch1980: Hello NL family. Great place this is. Please is it possible to change my ds 160 confirmation number on my visa application and print another visa confirmation reflecting this new ds 160 confirmation number.
Actually what happened was that I had issues with my first ds160; I just couldn't retrieve the form any more. I was getting an error message. And I had already scheduled an appointment with the number. I had to go to the office that helps with travels and passages in the school I finished from, and the lady said I had to fill out another ds160 and cancel and reschedule another visa appointment. She decided to assist me in filling the form. When it got to the place of : were you assisted to fill this form? She clicked on yes, and put her relationship with me as school official assigned to travels and passages. I didn't like it; I wanted it to be a no. I learned the embassy frowns at agents, and I don't want it to look like an agent assisted me for a fee, cos she didn't charge me; she was just doing her duty as a school official putting a student/staff through travel tinz.
Now I fell like changing the ds160 I will be needing at the embassy. I filled another one the way I want it and signed it. I tried going to the "update profile" on the visa appointment page with the hope of changing the ds160 confirmation number to the latest one I have, with the hope of printing a new visa confirmation page, but it gives me an error message. The other option would have been to cancel the appointment and reschedule with the latest ds160, which is what the woman did when the very first ds160 form was corrupted, but I don't want to loose my date, july 6th
But someone told me it was possible, that he did his own that way. Please house it it possible.
If I don't get it done I'll definitely go with the one the woman assisted me with and trust God for His favor. But I just thought to tie up loose ends as much as possible.
Thanks for your constructive answers. If you want to update your ds160 confirmation code on your appointment booking again you will lose that visa fee and you will pay another visa fee to schedule another interview date... So think twice before doing it |

elmadavida: Hello house, I have been away from the internet due to work.
I want to travel to Florida through Atlanta(ATL), where will be my port of entry?
Nigeria to Atlanta (first stop), then to Miami (destination). It is the same airline but they will be having one stop. You haven't take me to film house ooo If you board direct flight to your destination your poe wont be in NY because some people will still board the plane with you in NY going to same destination with you but if you have connecting flight in NY the your poe will be in NY where you will board another flight to your destination Maybe you check your flight itinerary you will see it there |
