Damex333: Pls did you guys in any time stay in the school hostel? Pls tell us d features, dos and donts and some other things bout the skul hostel

d basic dos and donts are: don't squat, don't harbour squatters.. don't use an electric hotplate dat doesn't av a 15amps plug, it will b seized, there are kitchens too, the hostel has water supply (but most tyms they don't pump in water into d tanks dat serves d rooms, u'l av to fetch from d big tanks outside d hostel) d hostel's power supply seems to b d best. there's a generating plant for d hostel too (they put it on when phcn fumbles for too long). each block has a common rum which has a TV equipped wit dstv (ther myt be no subscription on sm for sm certain period of tym). there are reading rums too, equipped wit fans and A.Cs. For d new hostels, Each rum has 2bathrums and 1 toilet while d old hostels has a number of common bathrums and Toilets for each floor. advantages: proximity to lecture halls (for those wu Luv nyt classes), electricity etc.. disadvantages: no privacy... ther ar rums of 6, rums of 8. lastly, if u finally get d school hostel, rememba to complete ur hostel registration and pay ur hall due (#500 or so)

Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of
Universities have reached an agreement to end the over five
month old strike by ASUU.
The lecturer’s association has however said that its members
may return to work next week. The Supervising Minister of
Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike told journalists at a meeting
with the leadership of ASUU, President of the Nigeria
Labour Congress, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian
Universities Commission and five vice- chancellors of
universities that all contending issues between the parties
have been resolved.
The parties signed a document to seal the agreement which
spells great hope that the over five-month old strike may be
called off within one week, although the president of ASUU,
Professor Nasir Faggae declined to say what was contained
in the document.
ASUU’s demands include the upward review of the
retirement age for professors from 65 to 70; adequate
funding to revitalise the university system; progressive
increase of budgetary allocations to the education sector by
26 per cent; transfer of federal government property to
universities; setting up of research and development units
by companies; payment of earned allowances; and
renegotiation of the signed agreement.
The agreement between the two is reached barely 24 hours
after the Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin
Okupe presented a proof of payment of N200 billion into
an account with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The strike began on July 1st 2013 and lasted for over five

Odunhana: This probably may be my last post just for some time. I can see that most of you criticizing me have refused to believe the bitter truth.

It wasn't my intended-intention to have come here and start criticizing FUNAAB. But the fact is, FUNAAB itself knows they are not transparent. Forget being admitted or not. We deserve much explanations on how the candidates you have chosen to offer admission are admitted on yearly basis.

The only thing Funaab will tell you is; '' Post UTME is one of the criteria at which candidates get admitted to FUNAAB'' Tell me if that is enough to educate us on how your admission process is all about. After Post UTME, the next we see is Admission list. Does that preach any transparency? FUNAAB is one of the best school in Nigeria. The fact can't be denied. But more transparency will add more to the school's integrity.

Would you believe some people still have not known how to calculate what FUNAAB term '' Composite ? ''.... And yes they add me on 2GO and i'll take my time to explain what Funaab says is COMPOSITE. What if there is no social network? what if there is no Nairaland? What if there is no Pseudomoner? What if there is no Odunhana? What if there is no Phemmy Johnson? Or what if people have not been keeping the greenhorn informed about FUNAAB? Whether you like it or not, it's the duty of FUNAAB to make all these things clear to their aspirants. Are we being paid to do all these?

To all those asking why i chose Nairaland in expressing my thought. You might have said what exactly your opinion was. Just as we all know everybody is entitled to their opinion.


Now listen, nothing would cost me if i decided to go in to FUNAAB senate itself to complain. But how can you accuse a school that doesn't release cutoff of not being sincere? The question you will be asked is ''How are you sure you merit the admission'' ? And yes it is nothing but the truth. But the meaning of that statement is that;
Did we inform you on what cutoff is? Could you remember what i said earlier about my friend after he had every requirement and cutoff in U.I that was still yet to be admitted? Immediately after complaints this boy actually saw his name on the list the next day. All these things cannot be entertained in FUNAAB.

I'm a man of integrity. I hate to be cheated. I just hope somebody reads and understands what i've always been harping on.

I startd writing jamb since I was in ss2 (2009) got admitted in 2012 (mech eng) with 211,242,267,226 as scores... tried ui, oau, futa,unilorin... so, I understand how frustrating stuffs like dis cn be. There are lots of tins Funaab consider for their admission, composite, post utme, level, CORRECT SUBJECT COMBINATIONS.. etc. iv got a frnd wu knows a dean in d skul, d dean told him he won't be offered his dream course (chemistry) coz he had a composite of around 47 (dat was last ur) wen d first list came out, his name was on d list. The man dint want to feel embarrassed so, he took my frnd to d skul just to show him d reason y he was admitted. I don't kno how he got d admission list bt my frnd was shown d list for chemistry department and he noticed dat there was a line crossed to demarcate d ppl dat were admitted and oda (it was arranged in decreasing order of scores). originally, he wasn't supposed to b admitted bt sm names were crossed off because of stuffs like wrong subject combo and dis gave sm ppl wu were "below d line " d opportunity to get admitted. a person wu has a composite of 45 and picked CPT has a better chance of being admitted dan sm1 wu picked second and has 55.... if u don't bliv me, just say u don't, no abuses pls... thanx

get root explorer, wfn u opn it, pres 'mount R/W at d top beside it, u'l see mountd as r/w. Go 2 'system' den to 'media' u'l see boot audio.zip rename to .jar and move into anoda folder mayb sdcard, den u ar done.

bobbyspeed: my people in the hse, some posted that a friend of his with composite 47.1% was admitted for economics. the person should avail us the post utme score of the friendif above 40% since its allege the sch will not admitt pume score less than 40% irrespective of composite score.

it will be nonsensical if one score pume38% and composite 55% and was denied admission whereas one with composite 47.1% and pume 45% was given admission.
let d person or others who got admission in ds manner give more clarification

wit my short stay in d skul, iv Neva seen a student of Colmas which such score. so, I think d person is tellin lies, trying to giv false hopes or he is a predite wit an excellent PD score.

Qunlexus4u: Congrats since u av c wmr. Just boot or phone to recovery mood by pressing power button + volume up key together for like 15secs then use the volume up and down to navigate.then scroll down to back up and restore the click on restore and locate the back up on or SD card.

d problem is dt i dont av d backup, so i nid sm1 wu has it
