Romance / Re: What Do naija Girls Offer In Relationships? by WarHorse1(m): 1:11pm On Apr 23, 2010
I am very happy to see this thread. Infact, I intend to print it and show it to my sisters and wife. Why am I happy you may ask? Well, the following may help you understand.

1. 80% of girls do not hookup with guys that truly love them. The give themselves to guys that have hidden intentions to abuse them and dump them.

2. I remember a thread where a guy who earned 40K was asking if he can marry with that. Many of the girls who responded said that will not take care of their needs. Is it not something to give in a relationship when you accept a guy even though he is poor? Money, cars, sweet mouth can never appreciate you, that why the guy see nothing in most girls.

3. Many girls are graduates. They are even more likely to get jobs b4 guys who are graduate. Yet you will see a female graduate demanding from her male counterpart when both are job hunting?

4. How many girls want to remain virgins? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaa. The majority want to sacrifice it to guy who will see them as offering nothing but P*ssy. And they are proud of it. Why not try remain a virgin and offer that to your future man. Most men still treasure that in a woman but they will not tell you.

5. Keep a simple life. who are you girls spending so much for to look exceptional, attractive and beautiful? for guys? well, this thread will tell you that all of that gives temporary satisfaction. Most guys are like children - They see a beautiful flower, pluck it, toy with it and when its weak, throw it away. So why not spend on yourself as much as your earnings can afford. If a girl can be dependent on her earnings up to 60%, thats something you are giving in a relationship.

6. Believe it or not, if you are just a girlfriend, you will always be seen as giving nothing but u know. Try get married. And remember, marry the guy that loves you and take something into the marriage.

7. Love? Sad to say, peer influence has taught guys to believe that love no longer exit. Thats why when a few girl give true love, it counts as nothing to the majority of men. Love, care are seen as things you girls use to ask for what you want. Some how some way, no matter how difficult, get a job to do even if it self-employment. A strong sense of responsibility is something a girl can give in a relationship.

8. Do you give advice to you guy on how to progress? Do you help him find information, link him with influential persons(thats if you have) that will help his progress? Do you know his family, siblings and do you extend assistance to them in areas you know you can help? If you do these and the guy does not appreciate you for what you give in a relationship, if his conscience 4gives him, God will not forgive him. Even if the family does not like you, keep doing things for them.

for now, this is all I have to say. if anymore, I will post it. For those gals who have been "superwoman" to some of us and we still saw them as giving nothing, take heart, and check next door.

Thank you @ravenzord!! It is good to hear someone tell it as it is.

@poster, am a woman like you and honestly, I cannot see my self marrying a man who does not know how to get down!

Hope you accept that you may not be the only one having him after marrying him cos other girls who knew him as on who know how to get down will be after him too - During his "Testing" days he must have gathers fans who will still need him sometimes

Ebi79:

Yes, the Bible does request that abstinence should be practiced but we both know that just like the Bible says 'the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak'.

True, it may not be easy to abstain but its worth it most times. And what is more, the bible has words, advise and principles to help you do it. Try reading your bible daily and you will be surprised how much power you will have to ward off "Testing".

Ebi79:

When you talk about divorce rates I honestly think you should get your facts straight, intimacy is a major reason why lots of marriages collapse!! Money can be ignored because it will always be gotten but intimacy my darling cannot be bought in a marriage or worked for. You either sabi wetin dey or you no sabi!!

My sister, talk true, how many pple dey sabi am for their first experience? you can work on it to become perfect performer. Its only when you have "Tested" before that you can tell if your partner is got or not. If you have not "tested" before, the first is always sweet.

Ebi79:

I have dated enough men ohhh!!

That doesn't mean I have not had a few good men!!! AM currently steady with a guy who does wonders in bed!! we are talking of marriage.

Your haven dated men makes you see this from your current view point. This your wonder-in-bed guy, are you sure he will not want to show other girls his wonders-in-bed after your marriage? Are you sure other girls are not bidding for his wonder-in-bed too? No go be shareholder o! Sole proprietorship of your man is better for your emotional health o!

Ebi79:

All said and done @poster, will you marry a man who has a manliness size of 3.5inch? Or that ejaculates before the act starts? Or comes as soon as he enters you? Ohh, am sorry, I forgot you are not seeking for sexual compatibility!! My apologies!!! But tell me, how will you feel when you are married and your friends all talk about how good they felt when their man did so and so to them and you are wondering WTF are you talking about?

I CANNOT!!!

Believe me no matter how Christian you are, one day, you will meet someone who will set your body on fire and there ends the story!!! It's such like you that fall prey to pastors and brothers in the church. Shorey oh!!!

what is the percentage of performing men/women to non performing men/women? The performers are more. Let us save the best for last. True, it can be awful to have a partner thats poor in bed. But almost often, you can tell from your conversations about s.e,x. early e.jaculation and erectile issues can be worked on.

Let us save our marriages wether you are married now or not. Save your future marriage. My sister, after marriage, man nor dey respect woman wen do a lot of "testing" o. I am a man and sit with men to discourse. How will you feel if you know that you were married only for child bearing?

Once the s.e,x drive is there, an appreciable level of satisfaction can be attained after marriage. if intimacy cannot be learned, why do we have books on it everywhere?

I do not mean to hurt your feelings. I understand that when you start s.e,x and love it, there is hardly a turn back. But na leaf wen sweet dey kill goat.

sexual compatibility is developed. It is not inborn. Therefore we should not look for it before marriage. We can develop it after marriage.

"Testing" before marriage has temporary joys and long lasting injuries. Remaining a virgin till marriage has temporary wishes and lasting joys.

Most ladies do not like sex as much after birth. If a lady was tested and found good, what happens if later, she is one that loves sex less and does not perform then?

What happens to a lady's perception of her husband if there was a guy then that performed better than her husband? same for guys too.

why do we want to"test" when we know that level of performance will not be constant but will fall over time?

Ask yourself this question and sincerely answer it - If you know that your marital partner has been involved with so may guys/gals before your marriage, will you be comfortable with that knowledge will the marriage last?

The fact that the many are into "Testing" does not make it the right thing to do. It never and will never be the right thing to do.

All these happens because we live in a world that feel they know more than God. Ride on with your self-deception and happily leave with the pains that come after.

I will call for a constitutional conference for which the sitting allowance will be outrageous. All past and present presidents and governors will be there and political party influentials will be there. I will encourage them to bring their sons or daughters whom they wish to be in government in the future to bear their minds on the problems of this great country.

Then, 4 days into the conference, I will blow all of us with a bomb - down to the gatemen. Everybody half a mile radius will be blown to pieces of meat. That is what I will do in accord with the pledge of this great country.

I pledge to Nigeria my country ( A sacrificial pledge)
To be faithful, loyal and honest (loyalty even if it means the ultimate sacrifice)
to serve Nigeria with all my strength (I will use the strength of my presidency)
To defend her unity (At the end equity in deaths will be achieved. the new beginning will forge a sense of unity)
and uphold her honor and glory (Probably, all the dead will be honored for their ultimate sacrifice)
so help me god.

Only if I become president for a week

Thanks for your response.

The option of self employment has been offers for job creation so many times. But self employment over the years has not been of much help in our current deplorable unemployment situation. capital, business ideas and the right strategy to operate startup have been assets that no one man have it all.

Against this back ground, can we still look to self employment? is it a meaningful option for a solution to Nigeria's unemployment situation?

You views are welcomed. lets think of creative solutions please. Lets think and re-think. Its a brain storming thread.

I want us to borrow from free/open source software strategy of the information technology world. A lot of softwares have been made by individuals and group and these softwares have been made available free of charge to the public. What has been the effect? Many businesses have been able to exploit these open and free source softwares. The result has been drastic reductions in cost of operation and increase in business startups.

Can this strategy be employed in developing business opportunities? Cost of startups has been one of the barriers to establishment. Can't some of the cost of establishment be reduced by collective contribution in kind and not in cash?

An engineer that very good with designs can offer to design a viable plant for free. Other may choose to offer their time to do one or more things to set up the plant and then at the end that plant could hire people for production. The contributors to the development of that plant can be proud of helping humanity. Not only that, it will add to their reference in career and life.
It need not be a plant alone. it could be anything.

Lets come up with views for creating job opportunities please.

There have been threads on unemployment in Nigeria, the causes and the poor attention given to unemployment by the Nigerian Government.

The interest of this thread is to look at the other side of the coin of unemployment - Job Creation.

It will be appreciated if we focus on private and corporate sector strategies to create jobs. The driving spirit should be fueled by the words - If the Nigerian Government will not make a way for us, Nigerians can make one for Nigerians.

Let brain storm on this creatively. you can post a problem and the likely solutions to the problem. If at all you want to bring in the government, it should be on how to hand twist the government to perform.

I want to appeal to all contributors to keep their emails subscribed to this thread so as to be updated. Nigeria and Nigerians are too talented to be suffering this degenerating level of unemployment. God can use people to help people.

Lets begin please.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why The Age Discrimination On Jobs? by WarHorse1(m): 2:54pm On Mar 24, 2010
One reason why employer discriminate is that they still have that outdated mindset that when that hire someone, that person will remain with them for "perpetuity" (abi, watin you say make I talk). Take a statistics, how many employee want to remain in their current place of work? Gone are the days when company manage personnel (The person). Now, companies can only manage the human resource in a person and thats only for so long as the persons wishes to supply it. Personnel Management is gone. Human Resource Management is here and employers have no claim to it for a life time.

Rather than discriminate with regards to age, HR departments and Managers should start to re-think their hiring strategy. My suggestions (Interestingly, I am in HR department were I work).

1. The first year of work of a new staff should be a one year contract (If s/he does not perform, discontinue with him or her)

2. Hiring cost? what is your computer technology doing? Idle? Computer technology and the internet is reducing the cost of hiring. So that should not be a too much pain for re-hiring if the previous fails to perform. Its already happening in project based companies in Nigeria. I work in one. I was taken because of my skill and at an age well above 26. Operations base companies can redefine their by creating a hybrid from both.

HR Manager and policy makes, help stop the cradle-to-work falsifications and the degenerating impart it is having on our educational system.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why The Age Discrimination On Jobs? by WarHorse1(m): 1:58pm On Mar 24, 2010
okeymadu:

The reason for age discrimination is simple. Our universities don’t equip graduates with the needed skills in today’s market.
I had the opportunity to interface with homo sapiens in the developed world during a recent company sponsored programme and found out that there was a lot of skill gap between the two graduates (Developed and underdeveloped countries products (graduates)) when placed side-by-side
So, to answer this question: the companies need to virtually re-train the graduates over again and it is said that you can’t learn to write with your left hand when you are already a grown up…
So they need o “catch” these graduates when they are still young within our context …

Guy! what is the difference between a 26 year old and a 30 year old? In my village, both are grouped within one age group. Even in statistics, they will fall into one group. Are you saying your younger ones are better than you are in learning?

I tell, you, many of those who are being employed lie about their age and they are now working. Are they not learning well now? so why encourage falsification.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why The Age Discrimination On Jobs? by WarHorse1(m): 9:23am On Mar 24, 2010
I am shocked that I am the first to respond to this issue. Its a very important issue which should be taken seriously

why employers both public and private in Nigeria discriminate against some graduates on the grounds of age ?

The answer can be traced to the past . up-till the 1990s, public and private companies were required to pay pensions and gratuities. These were tokens for appreciation of the year of work a persons may have put in during his/her service with a company. Employers back then felt the longer a staff can stay with the company, the farther it takes the responsibilities of pensions and gratuities away. Younger employees where favored by this assumption.

Furthermore, There was and is the notion that younger to-be employees had modern knowledge compared to the older. I don't see the truth in this anyway. But its said to be one of the reason for age discrimination amongst employers.

Additionally, employers want employee with "longer life expectancy" so that learned experience will stay longer within the company of establishment.

There also is a psychological front to this employer behavior. employer and in-standing older employees want persons that will be loyal to manipulations. Nigeria is an age sensitive country. When a manager is far younger than his subordinates, the tendency that there will be friction in the flow of authority, loyalty and work is perceived inevitable.

These employer-learned behavior has become hardwired in the hiring system in Nigeria. It was and still is supported by the outdated but still-in-use organizational structure of authoritarian-hierarchy. That worked when knowledge was with a few and that few had to influence the knowing, following and doing of work. Today, we live in a global knowledge economy- a world where knowledge is becoming free, translating into a right for everyone. This development alone should change the requirements of hiring in Nigeria.

But there is something I am yet to fix - It is in the air of the Nigerian atmosphere that change is not a constant? I am shocked that even international-status companies like Pricewaterhouse Coopers, KPMG, Ryan Kimberley, Accenture etc are still in tune with this old order of hiring.

Age discrimination in hiring is illegal in western countries. Its unrealistic here in Nigeria. The foundations that supported it are no more. Employees are no longer tied to one company for a life time. They move from one to another as dictated by financial benefit, career goals and other factors. The younger the employee, the more likely he/she will leave to another company. The Nigerian pension policy is now centralized and accommodates more than one place of work in the career years of an individual. Work organizations are becoming flat as knowledge circulated everywhere. Age and position power no longer rules. Knowledge power rules and knowledge knows no age.

Corporate employers are to be change initiators in Nigeria. They should re-think age limits with regards to hiring. There are not being fair to Nigeria and Nigerians. With a limits of 26 years with 3 to 5 years experience, There incite fraudulent age declarations. They incite crime not only against the law but against so many human conscience that a stifled to incline to this crime. They are a means to a criminal end which is totally uncalled for.
