BEFORE U SAY PDP PRIMARIES WERE TRANSPARENT:

Why did the govs return but majority of senators did not?
Why did they create a balot box for a state in the presidential primary without a ballot box for a local gov in state primaries?
Why did Jonathan not win or gather resonable votes in Zamfara, and Niger?
Why were ballot papers that voted for Atiku found mostly in Zamfara and Niger?
What made JEG won Adamawa(Atiku State) while he almost had in Bauchi where the state Gov is the regional cordinator?
Why did Jeg swept Ogun a State that produced two governorship candidate which is a clear indication of faction?
Why didn't they uphold the primary principle between former ogun speaker and Bankole?
Can every JEG supporter tell me the pedigree of just three delegate from his state; who represented your constiency?
Can you tell me what modality did they use that made JEG addressed the delegates last?
In one statement for each of these pdp heroes;describe Annenh,OBJ, Banmanga Tukur, OGd, Yuguda,Edwin Clark, Nwodo et al?

You have 99 percent of your “facts” wrong! Contrary to what you claim, the White House, CNN, TIME, BBC hired fact checkers. President Bill Clinton knew he was speaking on record and his speech that described Philip Emeagwali as “one of the great minds of the Information Age” was scripted and fact-checked for accuracy. The four judges that gave him the 1989 Gordon Bell Prize interviewed him daily by email for 60 days. Those four judges, in turn, emailed his discoveries and inventions to as many as 400 fact-checkers and experts. Why will Philip Emeagwali (who’s been married for 30 years) claim an older, overweight, ex-sister-in-law with four grown children, whom he has never seen in person as his “second” wife? Polygamy is illegal in the United States! For your record, Gloria Emeagwali never sued Philip Emeagwali as you said she claimed. Her ex-husband said that a few months after they arrived in Nigeria, Gloria abandoned him to live with an “Alhaji.” ON WHY CLINTON CALLED EMEAGWALI A “GREAT MIND” President Bill Clinton [who had science advisors] called Emeagwali “one of the great minds of the Information Age” because he solved grand challenge problems that simultaneously pushed the frontiers of physics, maths, computation and communication. His discoveries were front page news in all four fields. He discovered that for 330 years Force is NOT equal to mass times acceleration for all that flows underneath the Earth. The Gordon Bell prize committee agreed with him on the latter. The communication follows the computation which follows the maths which follows the physics. If the foundation of the maths, computation and communication is wrong, then the maths, computation and communication had to be reinvented. The Gordon Bell Prize Committee agreed he did. He proved to them that there are FOUR forces, not three. Your high school physics book “said the SUM of ALL the forces,” not some of the forces as is the case in ALL POROUS MEDIA [including petroleum reservoir simulation] textbooks. He said it took him 41 reinventions [not patents] to fix that 330-year-old error. He claimed 41 inventions, not patents just as you can publish 41 articles, without copyrights. Nobody has or can get a patent on the Internet, as you implied. To focus on patents, instead of inventions will be akin to focusing on the hero’s medal, rather than his heroism. A few ramifications: 1. For 330 years, the most important law in physics [Second Law of Motion] is violated in its most important application [oil recovery]. 2. For 200 years, the most important formula in engineering F=ma is UNBALANCED – i.e. Your FORCE is NOT equal to my MASS times ACCELERATION is UNBALANCED. 3. For 100 years, the most important partial differential equations are also UNBALANCED because they are derived from UNBALANCED formula F=ma. 4. And a dozen more. Once again, these 330-year-old errors were corrected by Philip Emeagwali. It was the first time in the history of science and technology that one person single-handedly pushed the frontier of four major fields – physics, maths, computation, and communication. Again, that’s why President Bill Clinton called him a “great mind.” http://emeagwali.com/video/president-bill-clinton/one-of-the-great-minds-of-the-information-age.wmv Regarding his Michigan accolades: Philip Emeagwali is arguably the most honored scientist – white or black – that ever lived and worked in the state of Michigan. The state has two flagship universities. You should ask the president of Michigan State University why she paid him and invited him to speak on April 18, 2007. See http://emeagwali.com/awards/citations/philip-emeagwali-michigan-state-university-april-19-2007.jpg You should ask the president of the University of Michigan why her university’s flagship publications dedicated special issues honoring the discoveries and inventions of Philip Emeagwali? [Read MICHIGAN TODAY, February 1991, University of Michigan, http://www.ns.umich.edu/MT/ ] You should query the entire members of the Michigan House of Representatives why they passed a resolution thanking Philip Emeagwali for his "tremendous impact on the state of Michigan" in April 2007. Have you asked the Mayor of Lansing (capital of Michigan) and the Mayor of East Lansing why they declared April 18, 2007 as PHILIP EMEAGWALI Day? Have you queried the Governor of Michigan why she gave an award to Philip Emeagwali for his "tireless contributions" to Michigan in 2007? For your record, a supercomputer costs 1.32 BILLION dollars (Wall Street Journal, October 4, 2010). The budget of many universities and even African nations is less than one billion dollars. In 1989, there was only one supercomputer that was powered by 65,000 subcomputers. It only allowed ONE programmer. Philip Emeagwali was logged onto it sixteen hours a day, 365 days a year. Philip Emeagwali was then the only full time programmer of the supercomputer powered by 65,000 subcomputers. It was a one man race. Think about it: How many programmers – white or black – will be so trusted and/or have EXCLUSIVE access to program the new 1.32 BILLION dollars supercomputer? It’s important because you must have a billion dollar equipment to make ground breaking discoveries. Only the United States and Japan can afford such machines. As you know, to win the Gordon Bell Prize you defend it before 10,000 Who’s Who in Supercomputing. He also gave invited lectures on his partial differential equations in Washington, D.C. in July 8-12, 1991 at an international congress of applied mathematicians, held once in four years. The ten thousand attendees, was the largest gathering of the Who's Who in mathematics. He recently headlined the 2009 Kshitij the largest science festival in Asia. And so on. Why do you think – 21 years later - scientists continue to pay him a speaker’s fee equivalent to a professor’s yearly salary? You should check your facts to understand why TIME magazine called Philip Emeagwali "the unsung hero behind the Internet." CNN called him "a father of the Internet. BBC called him a “Digital Giant” He has been voted history's greatest scientist of African descent.
PoliticsHow Ibb Killed Dele Giwa by warrior01(op): 12:56pm On Oct 20, 2010
Contrary to the persistent denials by General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd) that he has nothing to do with the assassination of Newswatch magazine founding Editor-In-Chief, Dele Giwa, 24 years ago, his former aide, Major Debo Bashorun insists the former military president has a case to answer.

Bashorun, the military press secretary to Babangida, spilled the beans in his forthcoming memoir, an excerpt which was made available to P.M.NEWS this morning.

According to the retired major who was hounded out of the military because he refused to do the bidding of his master, “it is quite possible that I am the only person alive today that could substantiate the Babangida administration’s dubious actions, certainly worth investigation, in relation to the assassination of Dele Giwa. And in a determined attempt to stop me from divulging what I know, a strategy was put in place apparently to ensure that the secret goes with me to the grave.”

He adds: “Although Newswatch had as much resisted the temptation to treat the President (Babangida) as an ogre despite evidence linking his regime to the murder of Dele Giwa, it would still have not taken a genius to figure out that the government’s apathy was meant to exact revenge on the paper’s (Newswatch) relentless campaign to unmask the killer(s.)”

Bashorun writes that the failure of the Babangida regime to congratulate Ray Ekpu, one of the founding editors of Newswatch magazine, who had won the International Journalist of the Year Award in 1988, two years after Dele Giwa was assassinated through a parcel bomb, became a matter of public concern “which saw our position as a sign of intolerance for criticisms against some of our policies.”

He had to raise the issue at a presidential staff meeting. It was on the basis of this that Babangida accepted to send a congratulatory letter to Ray Ekpu and the Management of Newswatch. But he later developed a cold feet after the meeting with Colonel Halilu Akilu who was the director of Military Intelligence. Instead, Babangida decided that Ray Ekpu and his colleagues should be given money which they initially rejected but later collected under pressure.

Bashorun was then ordered to attend the award ceremony in America where he was to gather information from Nigerian guests at the event about how they felt about the murder of Dele Giwa. He was given some gadgets for the recording.

To quote Bashorun: “The nature of that package, at that point, indicated that there was no longer a doubt about my belated suspicions over the murder which had become a malignant tumour for our administration. I was awestruck by this indirect self-implication of the government’s involvement, at some level or the other, in the circumstances of the crime. True, accusing fingers had been pointed in its direction, voices raised in direct accusations, but the suppositions were still hypothetical. Akilu’s proposal only confirmed the complicity of Babangida and Akilu, for how could they have suddenly embarked on this new adventure after seemingly perfecting their denial stance in a brutal crime that was without precedent in Nigeria. The government’s implicit acknowledgement of a cover-up interest in the crime, as expressed through the Director of Military Intelligence, showed that he and the president knew more than they had publicly admitted.

“My memory quickly switched to the president’s hostile reaction after my visit with Alhaji Muhammadu Gambo, (then Inspector General of Police) in my quest to find out the progress of the so-called investigation into the assassination. Akilu proceeded with his brief. On my arrival in New York, I was to contact the leader of a group of public relations experts whose name and phone numbers were listed on a piece of paper he produced. He went further that after establishing the contact, I should invite the man over to my hotel for discussions on which approach to take concerning the purported propaganda package. I was also to furnish him with all relevant inside information of our administration that would be necessary to perfect the strategy. Stressing once again his demand for my full cooperation, the colonel insisted that it was the only way that the blood-stained reputation that Dele’s murder had given our regime could be cleansed.

“Akilu went even further. In addition to this primary assignment, I was also expected to carry out some eavesdropping activities on our compatriots who would grace the award ceremony. To facilitate the latter, the officer brought out a small equipment that resembled an audiometer with flat rubber tops and different wires dangling from an athlete’s bag which had been lying in a corner. My hear felt it was jumping out of my body but I tried not to show how scared I was. Akilu then followed with a demonstration of how to wear it on himself. My first reaction was to wonder why the president would want my participation in this diabolical scheme when his American contacts could have assembled the package without my involvement. I began to have this strong feeling that the whole scheme was nothing but a set-up with hidden dangers for me. My brain must have been turning like a cyclone in the head.

“First, the thought of trying to spy on my compatriots bothered me even as much the possibility of being caught in the act became a terrifying reality. Another scary aspect of the mission was the chances of being intercepted by U.S law enforcement agencies while carrying such sophisticated equipment on my person. My looks must have said it all but the ‘lecturer’ was quick to interject that his demonstration was only to familiarise me with the equipment and that my acquaintance-to-be in New York would provide me with a similar gadget during our meeting. Perhaps the biggest worry was how to handle the newly discovered secret that the government had an unhealthily suspicious interest in Dele’s gruesome murder without becoming a victim myself. I was still struggling to muster the courage for questions when Akilu delivered the blow that completely weakened me at the knees. He emphatically stated that the eavesdropping aspect of the mission was meant to wrap up the evidence allegedly gathered already that Dele’s colleagues – Yakubu Mohammed, Ray Ekpu and Dan Agbese actually orchestrated the killing to facilitate their take-over of the company…

“:But then, why would the president present the media executives with cash gifts if he already knew they were conspirators in the murder? Why was he trying to be nice to people who through their alleged complicity were the same people destroying name of his administration? It was no good arguing with someone who takes you for a fool. After finishing with his demonstration of the equipment, the intelligence chief then moved down to the adjoining room and brought out a packet of micro-mini cassette recorders which he claimed would act as a back-up for secretly recording of conversations of other Nigerians who may turn up at the venue of the ceremony. This equipment would have passed for an ordinarily famous American cigarette pack which adorned its cover and was identical to the one given to me by the president for recording speeches during the Dele Giwa Memorial Week about two years earlier.

“The tape recorder, the name of the man to meet in New York together with his phone numbers and Atiku’s private numbers gave me sufficient reasons to start bothering about my own safety. In addition, my air ticket issued by the Protocol Department was inexplicably routed through Abidjan and London. This kept me wondering why a direct flight ticket straight to New York which would have saved the government some money was not procured. The ticket – purchased from a foreign airline – also violated government standing regulations which forbade the patronage of such businesses where a Nigerian Airways flight was available.

“The circumstances surrounding the routing of the ticket further fuelled my suspicions that something was amiss and because of that, I decided to leave the tape recorders at home instead of carrying them with me on the trip. I reasoned that if the need became urgently pressing, it would not be difficult to purchase some from Department Stores scattered all over New York. Boarding the aircraft presented no hassle because of my familiarity with the terrain but once airborne, the reality of being an unwilling accomplice in a venture which did not evolve by happenstance but rather by design took control. It then dawned on me that the tape recorder could have been a bugging device or something used for other covert purposes and the consequences of being caught with it frightened the hell out of me. I decided to leave it at home before I boarded the plane, having resolved to proceed in a manner that would render this, in advance, as mission impossible.”

Bashorun had revealed in a newspaper interview last June that he was being hounded because of the book and the facts it contains on who killed Giwa.

According to him, “I was privy to some of the terrible things… My problem is 2011. Babangida wants to become president again. I am not saying I am the only person, but I am one of those who know that he is connected to the death of Dele Giwa. That is why they have been trying to kill me.

“I was sent to do a dirty job in America in respect of Dele Giwa’s death. I was sent to cover up what they did. I refused to comply. When I came back, they threw me into jail. Newspapers reported it that time. I protested. The press was on my side then. I was shouting on the roof top that ‘these people want to kill me.’ They decided to send me to a unit in Makurdi, which was a Siberia then. I refused to go. Incidentally, the General Staff Headquarters, which was my unit (and Babangida’s unit too), issued an order that whoever wanted to leave the army should volunteer. It coincided with what was happening to me. So, I volunteered and resigned. I quoted their order in the resignation letter I sent them. But out of those who resigned then, I was the only person whose resignation letter was rejected. I contacted some attorneys. Alao Aka-Bashorun was my lawyer.”

He added: “Babangida has assembled a think tank of south-westerners who have warned him of my tell-all book that is about to be launched. They warned him that if I am allowed to launch the book, the expose contained there will totally destroy his chances of even gaining a foothold any where in the South-West.”

Major Debo Bashorun’s book will soon be published in and outside of Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: Nuhu Ribadu Now In Politics, Is He Misguided Or Foolish? by warrior01: 1:22pm On Oct 19, 2010
Personally, I believe the change Nigeria needs will surely come from PDP. ACN, to me, is just a smaller rogue part of PDP being managed by a crook (Tinubu) who is enjoying his 3rd term in office with a front man named Fashola( if you are in doubt of that , take a cue what happened some days back when Tinubu visited his boys at the state house of assembly to pass the appropriation bill which was sent in July during Tinubu/ Fashola Imbriglio). Their policies are elitist in nature and that is the reason why you can't see any meaningful development in Lagos mainland. Inspite of the taxes being paid by the people, major developments ends at the 3rd mainland bridge. With a budget of 412 billion naira, nothing is really on ground to show for it except for their own vested interests on the Island.
Coming back to PDP, it is simply a fight between the forces of change and the founding cabal who are hell bent on capturing back power by all means even if Nigeria would have to go down with them. It is quite obvious that whoever wins the primaries is automatically the president-in-waiting, therefore the fight to finish. The end result of this imbroglio will determine the direction the nation Nigeria takes. Therefore, the PDP primaries is like the main election itself in a country devoid of any credible opposition and it is for the best interest of Nigerians to make sure the right person wins.
PoliticsOkah’s Battle With Jonathan: The Untold Story by warrior01(op): 9:43pm On Oct 17, 2010
A leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger-Delta, (MEND) Mr Henry Okah’s personal grievances with President Goodluck Jonathan is at the bottom of the recent bombing of Abuja, the Federal Capital, The Nation’s investigation has revealed.

An ally of Okah in a chat with The Nation last week in Port Harcourt, quoted him as saying that he has made up his mind to fight Jonathan to a bitter end, indicating that the feud between two kinsmen may continue to raise the specter of instability in the country.

The President and Okah are from Bayelsa state.

A reliable source and confidant of the South African-based rebel, said the bombing campaign by what looked like a fringe faction of MEND, has nothing to do with the genuine cause of the Niger-Delta people who want greater control over oil and gas resources produced in the impoverished region.

The source said Okah felt isolated during the arms for cash negotiation with the militant groups which for several months held the entire nation captive through arms build-up and bombing of the nation’s oil pipelines.

The source claimed that during the negotiation with the leaders of the militant groups, there was no reckoning with Okah whose main role in the Niger-Delta struggle was the supply of arms. After the October 1 Abuja bombing, MEND issued another statement late last week promising months of horror ahead.

MEND late last week said it would bomb Abuja again, but the group did not list any major political demand. Jomo Gbomo, speaking on behalf of MEND stated “In an obvious attempt to intimidate anyone opposed to the presidential ambition of Goodluck Jonathan, the Nigerian government hiding under the cloak of terrorist hunters have been witch-hunting, falsely accusing and harassing its perceived opponents….we have decided to carry out another attack in Abuja without altering our mode of operation to prove the suspects’ innocence.”

The Nation gathered that the isolation of Orkah during the Amnesty deal was due to the fact that he had “no ground troops” which made it difficult for the federal authority to pay him huge amount of money in exchange for arms. “During the Amnesty negotiation, Okah felt isolated. He had no boys in the creeks, he had no weapons. The Federal Government did not give him any huge amount of money to him. He felt isolated and made up his mind to fight Jonathan to the end. He only needed some few individuals to join him in the campaign.”

The source claimed that when President Goodluck Jonathan made up his mind to contest the election, Orkah also felt bad that the President did not consult or contact him.

"He sent emissaries to the President, but he was ignored. He tried to get a role for himself in the Jonathan campaign organisation, but he could not get the attention needed. He swore to fight back the President. He found an ally in a former military ruler who was bent on creating an atmosphere that would give the impression that Jonathan is not capable of holding the country together. What is going on is that Okah’s business is not flying because of the lull in the Niger-Delta crisis."

Our correspondent learnt that weeks before the Abuja bombing, one of the rookies that was said to be involved in the Abuja operation let the cat out of the bag when he told a top MEND leader in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital, that there were plans to bomb Abuja.

The MEND leader was said to have passed on the information directly to the President. Unfortunately, security operatives were said to have treated the information with kid gloves.

The source claimed that the first meeting of Okah with the former the military leader linked to the bombing was through a proxy who is a top Nigerian media executive. “The man gave him money, a lot of money. He collected the money and both decided to work together.”

Our correspondent also learnt that undercover security operatives have “very strong evidence” linking a former military leader with the bombing that claimed eleven lives. The source claimed that the military leader “paid fat some of money” into the account of one of MEND’s operatives who transferred the huge amount to the “ring leader.”

A top official of the State Security Service, (SSS) who does not wish to be named said there were e-mail conversations between Mr Okah and the top media executive which the security operatives have already retrieved. It was on the strength of the information that the President made the statement isolating MEND from the Abuja bombing.

He informed that the bombing of Abuja may shift to other Nigerian cities as a plot to create an unstable political atmosphere. “The bombing is likely to continue until they exhaust the money paid to them.”

The source added that “The President has raw information indicating that Okah was not acting on behalf of MEND but rather on behalf of some forces behind the scene. The issuance of the statement claiming responsibility for the bombing by MEND was due to the fact that Okah is in control of the password of MEND. He actually designed the website of MEND and was responsible for issuing statements for the group after previous attacks on oil pipelines,” the source hinted.

He added that “The main campaign is to wage a psychological war on the President and force him out of the race for the President in 2011. Okah is playing the “fix game” by allowing himself to be used by the several political forces that are bent on preventing the emergence of President Jonathan as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in 2011,” the top security operative told The Nation in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

Meanwhile at Amassoma, Okah’s ancestral home last week, most locals kept sealed lips when asked to comment on the role of their kinsman in his on-going battle with the Nigerian authority. Sources that pleaded anonymity told The Nation that Okah, whose late father, Wilson, was in the Nigerian Navy, has been a strong ally of the Nigerian Armed forces for over two decades.

He was said to be responsible for the supply of light weapons to some official interests. Okah was said to have attended Corona Primary school in Apapa, Lagos and later studied Marine Engineering in Akwa Ibom state before he took to arms trade.

Okah last week claimed innocence in all the allegations levelled against him by the Nigerian govenrment saying that he was a victim of political persecution.

He also insisted that his battle is selfless and aimed at drawing global attention to the fact that President Jonathan is not interested in addressing the Niger-Delta economic and environmental problems. Time seems certain to reveal what Okah really stands for.

PoliticsOff To Britain-dubai Court Rules That James Ibori Be Extradited To Uk by warrior01(op): 8:15pm On Oct 17, 2010
A Dubai court of First Instance today ruled that the former governor of Delta state, James Ibori, has case to answer in the UK.

The court therefore ruled that Ibori be extradited to the United Kingdom to face charges of money laundering, credit card fraud and official theft. UK authorities have successfully prosecuted Ibori’s sister, Christine Ibie-Ibori, and his mistress, Udoamaka Okoronkwo (nee Onuigbo) on those charges. Both women are serving jail terms in a UK prison.

Ibori's wife, Theresa Nkoyo, and one of his UK-based lawyers, Bhadresh Gohil are also currently facing trial in a London courtroom. A legal analyst familiar with the evidence against them told Saharareporters that they are likely to be convicted and sentenced to jail terms as well.

A source close to Ibori told Saharareporters that the former governor was distraught by the verdict as some of his friends in Dubai had promised him that they could reach the judge and get him a favorable ruling. “I can assure you that Chief Ibori will ask his lawyers to file an appeal before the appellate court in the UAE,” said the source.

Mr. Ibori has 30 days to file for and receive an appellate decision.

Ibori’s associates in Nigeria had been preparing for a victorious outcome for him. In fact, several sources close to him revealed that he had ordered the renovation of his country home in Oghara, Delta State, for what he envisaged as a triumphant return. Instead, as one UK prosecutor told Saharareporters this morning, “the day of reckoning for this fugitive in a UK court is near at hand.”

Last week, Turai Yar’adua, the wife of former Nigerian ruler Umaru Yar’adua reportedly visited Mr. Ibori in Dubai. Former Governor Ibori was a close associate and confidante of Mr. Yar’adua who died last May. One source said Turai Yar’adua’s visit to Ibori was to express her gratitude for all Ibori did to sustain her late husband in power. Mrs. Yar’adua had earlier traveled to Saudi Arabia to mark the end of her mourning period and to perform the lesser hajj-(Umrah), according to a source close to her.

Saharareporters has learned that Mrs. Yar’adua, who is suffering from an ovarian disorder, will spend some time in the UK to receive more diagnosis and medical attention for her health condition.
