I actually have no problem if it's a bank of the Muslims for the Muslims and by the Muslims. If Christians or other religions want same, let them start their own banks.
your assertion will only lead to chaos cos other religions and weird groups will start demanding for their own banks and ways; and that is the major reason why Nigeria is a secular state and you can't give any group preferential treatment. If the CBN feels we need an interest free bank, then, religion in any garb should not be incorporated into it.

PoliticsLagos Cabinet: Fashola’s List Tears Acn Apart by warrior01(op): 1:21pm On Jun 27, 2011
LAGOS—THE much touted disharmony between Governor Fashola and the leadership of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Lagos State, peaked, weekend, when members of the state Assembly turned down the list of commissioners submitted by the governor for their consideration and approval.

The Assemblymen are antagonising the governor because he dropped most of the nominees from the party. Sources at the State House of Assembly told Vanguard that the ACN leadership in Lagos had earlier submitted list of some people but Fashola reportedly dropped most of them.

Some big wigs in ACN were said to be poised for a showdown with Fashola shortly after he said before the April elections and during his campaigns that he would choose the best hands as commissioners in his cabinet if returned as governor for a second term in office.

Fashola is known to be disposed to working with technocrats while the powers that be in ACN believe that party loyalists, especially those that stepped down for other candidates during the last primaries, should be compensated.

Vanguard learnt that the list submitted by the governor did not go down well with the 40 member-House of Assembly who have vowed to return the commissioners’ list to the governor today for amendment. The decision to return the list was, however, arrived at after several meetings held at different locations.

Usually reliable sources said the list excludes those that have spent two terms in the cabinet, from 2007 till date while those who were earlier tipped to make a comeback failed. The total number of the commissioners to be on the governor’s list could not be confirmed as at yesterday, but sources said they were well over 30.

According to the reports, Fashola agreed that Mrs. Olukemi Phinero, SAN, could replace the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Supo Sasore. And that Hon. Bosun Jeje could replace Prince Rotimi Agunsoye, as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair.

Dramatic comeback

Other names that made the list include: Lati Raji, a new face; former commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Ben Akabueze; former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris; former Commissioner Science and Technology, Obafemi Hamzat; former Commissioner for Establishment, Pension and Training, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu; Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa; Oyinlomo Danmole on Central Business District; Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ganiyu Johnson; Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Project, Mr. Gbolahan Lawal.

The most dramatic comeback out of the lot is the former Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello; who headed the campaign committee for Fashola’s second term bid; former Mushin council boss, Mr. Seye Oladejo; a former state legislator, Mr. Gbolahan Lawal Ojora.

It was learnt that the sharing formula seems to be the reason for the delay of the final lists.

It will be recalled that about 125 curriculum vitaes, CVs, and representations were sent to Governor Fashola and prominent ACN members in the state for possible appointments into the state EXCO.

Last Wednesday, an entourage of the ruling party, ACN, paid a courtesy call on Governor Babatunde Fashola in what seemed to be an agenda setting meeting for his second term with a charge to build on the success recorded in his first term in office.

The ACN entourage was led by the state chairman Chief Henry Ajomale Alhaji S. Sumola, state Vice Chairmen, Cardinal James Odunmbaku, Engineer Adesegun Adeseye and others.

Ajomale at that meeting said “Our mission before the elections was that we wanted to ensure that we still have the control of Lagos, that is the Action Congress of Nigeria, apart from that, let me rejoice with you that you have young children now that have just been delivered, because from one, ACN now proudly has six governors, which was possible because the people saw what you demonstrated through progressive governance”,

The party urged the governor not to be too far away from the party saying;”now is the time that your service is needed most,” and assured the governor of the party’s continuous support to ensure success in his second term in office.

Responding, Fashola commended the visitors for their efficiency and hard work during the pre_electioneering campaign, saying that his victory as well as those of the members of the National and State House of Assembly was the product of the self less effort of the party and the trust the electorate have on the ACN.

“We must ensure that we make promises and we keep to them, that where promises become difficult to implement, we must go back to them, share with them the difficulties we are facing, ” he said.

Thank God we are now seeing through all these hypocrites that are condemning Jonathan and are at the same time doing worse. I wonder how they would have finished Nigeria had it been they were given the chance.

First of all, f-uck off you little piece of s-hit!!! second of all, when those older than you speak, you keep shut or f-uck off!!! third of all, i can read btw the lines and i know you obviously did not lose a loved one neither do you know any corper who was killed; that's why you can come and write such rubbish here.

You like Nigeria and wish the best for Nigeria? So do we who write about the past injustices in this nation that must be corrected!!! You're too young to understand what would make some set of people to kill other human beings like goats and slash their bodies like suya meat. That's what buhari's s-hitty supporters did to those corpers they murdered in cold blood. They did that cos they feel they own nigeria. They think they are above the law. We have not forgotten what buhari and his supporters did, we wont forget and when the times is right and their sins are full, they will ALL get their just reward.

Secondly, I will rather write and curse on NL to ease the hurt and pain from what those barbarian ethnic warmongers(that are obviously your relatives) did to my fellow naija brethern than become insane and reciprocate(hope you're smart enough to follow my logic). Its time those who delude themselves in thinking they own the nation know that they never did and NOW, it will be FIRE FOR FIRE!!!

Since you've admitted to your being immature, i wont bother exchanging words with you again since you dont know how to respect your elders.

Mena Martins,
"Hear Pastor: "the integrity of elections is crucial for the survival of “our nascent democracy”, “we consider the subversion of the popular will to be the worst form of corruption that can befall any nation.” "stolen mandate".
Now what else are the security agents waiting for before this man is arrested? As far as I am concerned, these are treasonable statement that can set the nation ablaze the more. How many more corpers and innocent citizens are we waiting for to be killed b4 we act?
Nigerian politicians have no stomach to accept defeat. As far as these idiots are concerned, wherever Buhari lost, the votes were rigged and where he won, the votes were perfect. These are nothing but the thoughts of dull minds.
But because these careless and unthoughtful comments are costing innocent lives, there is an urgent need to get them arrested and put in Kirikiri right away."

PoliticsRe: Bakare: Why We Rejected Result Of Presidential Poll by warrior01: 2:19pm On Apr 24, 2011
"Pastor Bakare,

I used to be an ardent supporter of Buhari, but God has delivered me from your brainwashing. It’s a shame you are still talking this way.

Havent you read in your bible as a man of God that “He who God has blessed let no man curse”? The God of Jonathan is now pursuing you and you shall surely answer to God.

I used to think you were a pastor of a difference and Buhari a fine presidential material, but now I see that both of you are pretenders, religious extremists and zealots who are not better than the bad politicians you have been criticizing. Buhari told his almajiri supporters to lynch and you pastor Bakare promised “wild wild north” if elections are rigged. Now we have seen the manifestations of your prophecy which only means that your presidency would be a blood bath for southerners, mayhem and doom for Nigeria. You should be ashamed to call yourself a pastor because you have incited your beggar supporters to kill innocent people, youth coopers while your children live in luxury. Be humble and apologise to Nigeria and do not come out again to preach cos if you do, I would stone you cos you are a disgrace to priesthood.

Come to think of it, Pastor, you had always criticized other pastors and traditional leaders, please tell me how you are better than them? If elections are held again, you and your weeping weakling boss Buhari cant even get 2% of the votes as we have all known you agenda of “change” which is Jihad after all you were born a Muslim and still remains one. You are no match for GEJ who God has anointed. Go back to your pulpit cos you were not called to be president, you called yourself.

STOP COMPLAINING COS THE ELECTIONS WERE FREE AND FAIR AND GEJ FLOGGED YOU HANDS DOWN COS YOU FOOLED YOURSELVES THINKING YOU WILL USE SECTIONAL VOTES FROM THE NORTH TO WIN. WE MUST PROBE THE UNDER AGE VOTINGS IN YOUR STROGHOLDS AND YOUR ROLES IN THE VOILENCE"

"Please did anyone see any show of emotion on Pastor Tunde Bakare's part concerning the post-election nay slaughter of helpless children that were serving their fatherland? He even had the audacity to tell us that Buhari lost 3 SUVs. As he said, "time will tell". The young corpers they killed, Ukeoma Ikechukwu made a comment on his facebook, the same day he got missing on Sunday. He said CPC Agents almost killed him when he refused them to have the excess ballot papers for thumbprinting. This was after they intimidated him into allowing underaged children to vote. Time Will Surely Tell, Mr Pastor"
PoliticsRe: Bakare: Why We Rejected Result Of Presidential Poll by warrior01: 12:50pm On Apr 24, 2011
"In 2011 GEJ won the election considered free and fair yet Ibos are being killed in Northern Nigeria. They do not distinquish between the southeast, southsouth or southwest but their main targets are ibos. GEJ is not ibo but yet ibos are paying the ultimate price. A 27 yrs old youth copper Obinna Opokiri died on the streets of Buchi, all he had to defend himself was his NYSC uniform and his plea for help whilst being set upon by the Hausa-Fulani mobs shouting 'yamiri banzaa-yamiri banzaa'. This bright star was killed with his only sin being Ibo, a chioce he did not make at birth. He just happened to be Ibo.

In the 1960s this was well documented in the British archives, thousands of (predominantly) Ibos were killed in the northern nigeria. The one picture that stands out abeit captured in black and white photo. An ibo woman lying dead with her belly slashed open with her dead unborn baby lying dead next to her. This was someone mother, sister or aunt, just imagin her last moment before she was overwhelmed by the pain and lost of blood then her final breath! What was her sin? Being Ibo.

Dim Ojukwu clearly stated our current predicament, this is one of the best brains of the black race. A product of Oxford university of the golden era who studied history. A well respected man by the white elite British aristocrates. When you speak to his classmates or read his thesis/essays then you know why Biafra had to fail. The white race was not ready for Biafra or its revolutionary leader to rule black African. Africa as we see it is a product designed to suit British, French and German interest. (That changed after the 2nd world war re: Germany) What this man saw clearly in the 1960s some people are only waking up to it in 2011 as Dim recups from his hospital bed.

How many more ibos will die on the streets of North? When they dont see ibos then they will turn against the southsouth and finally southwest people. To to all those southerner who turned against Biafra and accused Dim Ojukwu of trying to split nigeria, what should the parents of Obinna Opokiri do? How can we be nigerians and i cannot live in Buchi, Kaduna, Kano or Jos? The whole concept of tribes does not have meaning to me. I see are two black faces with different linguistics and cultures but that fails to justify the killings of our own citizens. Do i now go to Onicha and kill Umaru, Mohamade and Alhaji Sokoto people that I dearly love for being Hausa-Fulani or muslim. African culture predates both christianity and Islam hence it is not a justification to kill.

Fela (London School of music) who today the whole of Europe and America are celebrating his artistic work was jailed in Nigeria. He started an intellectual battle with the Nigerian government albeit using broken English to reach the poor masses. Fela's comments on Biafra was well documented as he stood on the same intellectual peddlestool as Dim Ojukwu. How is this linked to what is happening in nigeria? It all starts in the foundation of nigeria when white racist aristocratic Lord Lugard came to Niger area before his mistress coined up that name 'nigeria.' When have the West ever helped Africa unconditionally? Lord Lugard came to nigeria only to protect Western interest. Nigeria was looted blind hence our FESTAC bronze is been cherished by the British.

English, Irish,Scotish and Welsh make up the British Isles, if you mix them up with the French, German,Danish, Turkish(to inject a bit of Islam)Dutch, Greek and Italian in one country. Then get OBJ's mistress to name it Euroaria. What do you think will happen? In concluision black intellectuals must find a way to redress what the Europeans did in Africa if it is not working. The buck stops at Nigerians to sort out our dear country as the Southeast and southsouth have no other country to go to if nigeria explodes. Hausa-Fulani can walk across to Mali,Chad or Niger. Yorubas can cross over from lagos to Togo or Benin Rep. There is other counry that speaks Ibo, ijaw, ibibio and so on, that we can leave Nigeria and take refuge. This mean the old Eastern Nigeria remains the last frontier where i can live without being killed. If you push me 20 miles from the Heartland of the Ibo nation I will end up in the Creeks of Niger Delta. This is why our destiny is one, when an ijaw man wins an election then ibo blood is spilt."
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Set To Win, Aided By Southern Magic Numbers by warrior01: 12:43pm On Apr 24, 2011
"I am from the Heartland of the Southeast, i support our Ijaw brother or Niger Delta cousin GEJ. Since the end of the civil war which i call genocide, no other nigerian president has ever looked at the southeast. GEJ has impacted on my grandma's life by dualising the PortHarcote express road that runs across my village. All she knew was a man call Ebele Azukiwe built the road. You may call him an ijaw man or southsouth but granny loved Ebele the man that build her road. She loved the man Ebelechukwu which means God's mercy.

Her disabled husband was killed by hausa-fulani man who knocked her out with the butt of his gun as she pleaded for his mercy. Considering that her husband was very ill and was not part of the Biafran army she was unable to leave the love of her life and run. The Hausa-Fulani man shot her husband at point blank.

People like my Granny still bears the scar of the past, she is aware of all the killings that happens in the North so she was very scarred of the tall Hausa-Fulani man. People like granny and all her friends like Ebele the kind man that tarred the express road. Now she can go to her farm or market on her bike. Uncle lives in Portharcote can visit granny in 20 mins from the usual 2 hours on the old pot hole ridden roads. Uncle went back to village to vote. Uncle runs a sucessful business and he can travel to Europe via Eungu airport which is very good for his business. All previous presidents paid lip service but Ebele made it an international airport. Granny claimed that Ebele visited the capital city about 3 times and the last one he was wearing the red cap and a black top with the lion head dancing Ibo cultural music.

Who do you think my granny and uncle will vote for? GEJ was too popular and they might be many people who feel the same like my granny and uncle in the southeast. PDP to my granny meant nothing but the kind man that fixed the road changedf her life. What did Buhari do to impact on granny's life from 1983 to 1985?"
