From accusing "a presidential aide to accusing the president" That really shows how inconsistent this clown is. Bloody murderer |
Oct. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Henry Okah reiterated accusations that Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan asked him to tell rebels in the Niger Delta to retract their claim to be behind the Oct. 1 bombings in Nigeria that killed 12 people. Jonathan made the request “so the president could blame the bombings on his presidential opponents,” Okah told the Johannesburg Magistrates Court, where he faces charges of helping to organize the bombing. Okah denied he is the leader of Nigeria’s Movement for the Emancipation of The Niger Delta, or MEND, which claimed responsibility for the attacks, though he does have the “respect of most of the fighters,” he said today. His bail hearing started yesterday in Johannesburg, where he now lives, and is scheduled to resume Oct. 18. He was arrest on Oct. 2. Nigeria’s government dismissed Okah’s comments, which came a week after he told the Al Jazeera news service that a close associate of the president called him to request the retraction. “At first he said it was the president’s aide and now he’s saying it’s the president,” Ima Niboro, Jonathan’s spokesman, said by phone from the capital, Abuja, today. “That shows the type of man he is. He’s a criminal and a drowning man catching on straws.” MEND will carry out a further bomb attack in Abuja, the group said in an e-mailed statement today. Nigeria is Africa’s biggest oil producer and the fifth- largest source of U.S. oil imports. Attacks by MEND and other armed groups in the Niger River delta, home to Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, cut more than 28 percent of the country’s oil output between 2006 and 2009. The attacks declined after thousands of fighters accepted a government amnesty last year. Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Exxon Mobil Corp., Chevron Corp. and Total SA operate joint ventures with the state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. that pump most of Nigeria’s oil. --With assistance from Dulue Mbachu in Abuja. "We are still far from one country, despite the railway train and motorcar which have created the opportunity of understanding among ourselves. This alone is not enough. We here are representatives of different communities, to discuss our common problems and to establish our future destinies. The success of failure of the Richards Constitution lies mainly with the unofficial members. We should not close our eyes to the fact that the Yorubas, the Igbo and the Hausas, who are the predominant tribes in our country, do not see eye to eye. The masses are still illiterate, and we should always consider the position of our people who do not have the privilege of Western education, and could not earn their living by siting at a desk.Tafawa Balewa, 1947 I wish we can all go our different ways cos as it was in 1947 so it is now. We have nothing in common and simply keep postponing the evil day. Let part and move on |
I also heard that the America you are praising today was built by the sweat and blood of your great great grand fathers who were enslaved and shipped out to America Visa free, and never paid or compensated for their work over the centuries. |
God recently warned South Africa about TB Joshua and Pastor Chris practices.Just wondering if you've taken your medication today |

She is entitled to keep some houses which include her main residence in Lagos no matter d price plus one in her home town, probably one in Abuja and one abroad. As a chief executive of a bank she would be entitted to favaroble interest rates which d general public does not have accesss to, secondly she would be entitled to huge bonuses for expanding d bank over d years.so, whatz the lesson to be learnt here? A pat at the back for stealing what was kept in trust? If what you are saying is the truth, then we are in trouble |
The seizure of all these propertise and shares is more painful than some useless long jail term where does this woman want to start from. But let us call a spade a spade no human being should own this much in a country where there is so much poverty. This is classical greed in all it's ramificationsI disagree with this opinion cos she still kept some properties running into billions of naira still. Some poor folks have gone to 8 years jail for less than one million naira and we are talking of billions here. FYI, do you know you can start six universal banks with (#25 billion each) in Nigeria with the amount siezed from this convict and to add salt to injury, she's an 'elder' in the church. She deserve to rot in jail |
IBB must die a miserable death. The blood of those that died in 1993 is calling for vengeance. |
She needs to be executed as well. It's quite obvious we have different kinds of laws in Nigeria; one for the rich and another set for the poor. Just imagine what would have happened to a poor man that stole #100 on the street of Lagos. So unfair |
I feel with this judgement, corruption is now formally legalised in Nigeria. So what this means is that anybody that is opportuned to be in charge of any office can go on and embezzle as much as he/she can. At the end of the day, you will be begged to return half of the loot, spend six months holiday in an open prison and thereafter go home happily a billionaire. If this is what the war against corruption is, then Nigeria is doomed. |
so they are telling us to dey steal money dey go after all na only six months be the jail term. Naja I hail thee. |
Mrs. Cecilia Ibru, the former managing director of Oceanic Bank PLC, is to spend six months in jail and forfeit over N150 billion Naira in assets and cash. The former MD was convicted of bank and securities fraud and was convicted earlier today by a federal high court judge preisded over by Justice Dan Abutuin Ikoyi, Lagos. However, the judge provided what amounts to a slap on the wrist by giving her only six months jail time. The judge said Mrs. ibru will not get 1 -month credit for time already spent in EFCC custody during her arrest and interrogation. Her six months jail time would run concurrently as she was convicted on several counts of bank and security fraud. Mrs. Ibru has vast assets throughout the world. Independence Bomb Blast(IBB) since you said you didn't do it, no problem 'na we do am' ![]() |
Quite frankly it is becoming clearer that Jonathan will simply not get elected. Or if he does rig himself in for another term we will simply have a very ungovernable Nigeria. This game was always Jonathan's to loose and he has simply lost it because he simply does not know how to play the game.I totally disagree with you. GEJ has the support of majority of Nigerians. We are tired of all this propaganda and false statements that doesn't represent the true situations on ground. |
my head? good grief,i think you need to have your ancestry examined@ Dranoel, sorry the psychiatric doctor from Yaba left will soon be with you in a minute. Just exercise a little patience ok, no matter how serious your mental illness might be, you will soon be attended to. |
look at the way the slowpoke talks,my people, their people, where did Nigeria go wrong to get this crap of a presidentwho are you referring to as a slowpoke? are you ok at all calling your president a slowpoke? I think you need to have your head examined. |
My fellow nairalanders, what if Goodluck Jonathan isAre you this daft? |
;d ;d ;d ;d ;d |
ROFLMAO!!hello, are you normal at all? I'm asking this cos ever since I joined Nairaland that has always been your only contribution. Pls, is everything ok? |
Real MEND/Fake Mend . . . now we have "MAIN" MENDthe men that fought the battle at the creeks with their boys we know and not some attention seeking murderers being used as pawn by desperate politicians to embarass the govt and cause uncertainty in the land. WE are saying NO TO SPONSORED TERRORISM |
the main Mend that we know has come out to disassociate themselves from this terrorist act. Anybody can sit behind a PC and claim to be Mend or working for Mend but the people that was Mend we know and GEJ is right |
@Jabbock, what is not presidential about the president coming out to say it the way it is. Some people are out to make the country ungovernable because they believe Nigeria belongs to them. Mind you, as the CSO of the country, he has more info than you and I. I must really commend him for being cool headed so far despite all the campaigns of calumny being launched from left, right and center all in a bid for power to remain in some clique's hands. Nobody even you can take the shit these people are throwing his way. If you can tell yourself the truth, just like 2003 and 2007, some people wants to use these unpatriotic elements to cause distrust in the society. Lets keep on watching as time will reveal everything |
Pls can Mr Okah name the 'presidential aide' that called him with prove of the call cos the whole world is watching. |
Mr. Henry Okah who has been openly charged for masterminding the terror attacks against his home country has been quoted by Al Jazeera Network as claiming that an aide of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan called to ask him to blame the October 1, 2010, bombings on Northern politicians. This of course is an outright lie, and we challenge Okah to name the President’s aide that spoke to him on the subject. There is an on going investigation on Okah’s alleged involvement in the bombings in Nigeria. In South Africa, he has already been charged to court. He should face the charges, and stop making frivolous claims. There is no question that Okah is a drowning man determined to pull others down with him, and there is hardly any purpose to be served by joining issues with an accused mass murderer. Okah is a man who has been known to say one thing and do another, and we are not at all surprised by his diversionary rhetoric. http://saharareporters.com/news-page/press-statement-jonathan-replies-henry-okah-says-he-drowning-man |
something is really fishy here. two days prior to the bombings, Aljazeera claimed they interviewed Mend fighters and now this. The fact is somebody somewhere is using Aljazerra to discredit the Nigerian govt. Ok lets reason together; Afegbua admits on Aljazeera that Henry Okah is a former MEND leader, his words not mine. Jonathan states that MEND is not culpable but a small band of terrorists living outside the country and gingered on by unpatriotic elements in the country. Timi Alaibe, Jonathan's adviser on the Niger Delta said as much too. That MEND had nothing to do with it and that it was Henry Okah through and through. Now, why would Jonathan reach out to Henry Okah whereas he does not recognize Henry as the leader of MEND? Whereas Alaibe admits that the face of MEND has already thrown in the towel and repented? Afegbua having acknowledged that Henry Okah is a former MEND leader, why would his principal, IBB, affirm that MEND has taken responsibility for that bombing? How does/did he know it was MEND that actually claimed responsibility for it? If Jomo Gbomo is Henry's pen name why recognize Henry from the shadows as the voice of MEND whereas his spokesman acknowledges he was a former MEND leader? Who is MEND and who speaks for it? Jomo Gbomo? I would think not. Henry Okah? I would equally think not. There are no contradictions to the things Mr President has said. He views Henry Okah as a terrorist and mercenary who does not represent or speak for MEND. Odili should come forth and answer questions as to his funding of militants in the Delta creeks and not continue to host Aljazeera to fake camp sites that are not and have never been a MEND asset. u have tried the first two options with no luck, then this will not fail you. This option however may not be free but I can guarantee you that you will get whatever you pay for. You can find address, not for free, from phone numbers by using the search bar provided on reverse lookup sites to get information such as the name and address of the owner of the phone number. To be able to make such searches, you will have to become a member by registering on such sites. This usually comes with a token fee which is not more than $20 in most cases. However, this payment affords you access to unlimited searches without restrictions while your membership lasts. Always use only reputable reverse lookup sites. Before you use a site, you can do a good search on the name of the reverse lookup site to see if it is a scam or not. This will prevent you from becoming a victim of fake and scam reverse lookup sites. |
who is a guy and who is ranting? kolomentality. u don kolo finish. oloriburuku. u tell urs and i tell mine, so whats your 4king problem? do u even know d meaning of ranting or u just heard d word and thot u'd use it on nl? It's so obvious you are truly blind spiritually and otherwise. The man you are trying to castigate has really aftected so many people world over positively, you know the funniest thing, he will never join issues with people like you who are being used by the devil to bring down anything good. You know why? Nobody fights for God; He does His things His way. I pray one day and very soon you will need the help of this man. Till then let wait and see |
live from Emmanuel Tv, a blind 23 year old man just received his sight back in Jesus name. Healing and deliverance going on now live on Emmanuel Tv. |
There is somebody here confused wether or not TB is a man of God.I come to answer your question. He is a false prophet,a deceiver and wicked. And you are?, |
to be frank with you, I believe the president. The name Mend was used as a diversionary tactics. The main leaders of Mend have come out to denounce the bombing, while some even confessed being approached by politicians through proxies to carry out the act in order to destabilize the country. like one mopol said, let keep our fingers crossed and watch events unfold. |
