manny4life: Nonsense list,Who cares about this politicized list? I'm surprised China, Iran and North Korea were not put first and second. Those countries have one thing in common. India too which is more corrupt than anywhere else in the world never appear. In any case, Nigeria have been consistently rated the second or third most corrupt country in the world since 1999! So what has changed? http://www.transparency.org/country#NGA |
Even if they establish 20 army divisions in our region, they cannot suppress the will of our people to be free. In any case, i don't really expect them to establish this army division. It won't change anything when our people decide to rise. |
silent don: This Emir is a funny man, he should have allowed them to come now. He knows their coming will inadvertently lead to their end and his end thereafter, he's now coming to say rubbish.Typically, a coward usually comes out to boast as soon as a war is prevented. Now you are making mouth because the Emir succeeded in stopping Fulani, instead of thanking God and thanking the Emir for begging the fulani to spare your lives. if Fulani had refused the Emir and had come now, you would run faster than Ben Johnson leaving women and children behind. Only one group of Nigerians the fulani would not dare attack in their land and you and I know it isn't the yorubas. |
Jman06: Another lie from an APC e-rat!APC liars expect everyone to be so gullible to believe that the Queen of England is the maid of honor at Tinubu daughter's wedding. ![]() |
No Northern christian or anyone from the North Central zone will be allowed anywhere close to representing the north in Nigeria. You can only represent the north if you are from Northeast or northwest. |
sCun: This is something that has got me confused and supsicious.I think we need to create North North region in the north and South Central region in the South and then get rid of the states. |
Good to hear Kano is spending on something positive for its economy. They should at least do something positive with all the money they steal from the Niger Delta. Better to build power plants than sponsor Boko Haram to kill innocent people. |
He was last seen in Dubai,UAE at a party by a Nigerian House of Rep member opening his Dubai Home. They went there spending lavishly and buying houses in Dubai, where they hope to run to after they have created war in Nigeria. Meanwhile the ordinary Nigerians that will soon be consumed by the plot of these men support them and hail their corruption. |

In 1979, he asked me to move to Abeokuta with him but I declined because of his extra-marital indiscipline. “When he was being drawn out of the Army, I was in the same car with him. When we went for thanksgiving at Owu Baptist Church, Abeokuta, I was also in the same car. At the church, I sat with him in the front pew. During the reception I was in control of events and he sat his mistresses with other guests next to us. “I made Stella take one of the middle seats with her friend, Julie Coker". “Obasanjo did not forgive me that. He stopped taking care of the children. He only sent N400 a month. Iyabo and Busola were at Queen’s College, Lagos; Segun was at King’s College. - Iyabo, Obasanjo's wife. Now what type of man will so publicly disrespect his wife to bring a woman he is screwing to sit next to his matrimonial wife? Even when the poor lady was protesting sitting next to a woman who was sleeping with her husband publicly. Imagine the shame! That behavior speaks volumes of Obasanjo's character that he cares about nobody else welfare but himself. That is your hero there.

Truth don take style dey fall out. Shebi dem say the airport na for Aba business community? Why una come put am for Umuahia nah? Is it not shorter to drive from Aba to Owerri airport than to Umuahia? SHM! |
akpomeme: Please they should sack Stella OduahE be like say na Princess Stella Oduah do am o! |
I really don't know why the PDP have left Obasanjo in the party. He should have since been expelled or at the minimum placed on suspension for his anti-party activities. He was the one that planned the G5 governors script and the defection to APC. All he is doing is to gather information for APC from inside PDP. So that he could destroy the party. The earlier they expel OBJ for anti-party activities, the better for the PDP. |
Nothing is hidden forever under the sun! All those secrets hidden from ordinary Nigerians is being unmasked gradually one day at a time. The soul of Gen. Ramat Murtala Mohammed will finally rest in peace soon as his killers are finally mentioned. Soon the Killers of Pa Rewane and Bola Ige will become public knowledge for all Nigerians and for posterity sake. |

All these trouble makes simply need to die so Nigeria can have peace. My new year resolution is to seriously pray for the death of every politician intent on bringing civil war to Nigeria. I remember i said that prayer for Sani Abacha. Let me go and buy my candles! |
Educate yourself a little here: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1045615&page=44
Wow! I have learnt a lot just these few minutes going through all the pages in the posted link! I like coming to this Enugu thread because i always learn something new here. As Nigerians we are truly ignorant about the great airlines in the world and which ones are even members of the Star Alliance Group because we don't have any standard airline, talkless of being in the star alliance group. But it's good to learn everyday.
Biafrandream, thanks for your comments. I am and have always been afrocentric in my outlook and have never been negative about Africa. Maybe I should have said that the basis of my decision not to fly with Ethiopia Airlines has more to do with distance and nothing more. For instance it would take me 9 hours to fly from London by Ethiopian Airlines to Addis Ababa then wait the connecting flight to Enugu which last for about 5 hours. This is a long journey I would rather opt for a six hour flight from the UK to Abuja or Lagos direct. All I am saying is that we need an airline anchored in Europe that will cater for the thousands of Nigerians who wish to land in Enugu. For example, a Lufthansa flight takes off from London to Frankfurt a flight of less than an hour, then we board the Lufthansa connecting flight to Enugu. So when I mentioned KLM, Air France or Lufthansa this was my viewpoint. In a nutshell the aviation ministry has to look at the thousands if not millions of Nigerians from the East in the diaspora be it Europe, America, Asia or South America who wish to land in Enugu. We can not all fly to Addis Ababa. Give us more options so that we can choose. Cheers
You have a great point. Enugu indeed needs at least two international airlines. One which is Europe based to cater for USA and Europe bound Passengers, while Ethiopian airline will cater for the Far East passengers. But how do you expect any European airline will have incentive to fly to Enugu if you continue patronizing them to take you wherever they desire? By the way, @ the bolded, Will your journey terminate in Lagos or Abuja? If so, it makes every sense to fly to Lagos and Abuja. But if they are not your final destination, then your analysis is faulty. If someone's final destination is Lagos, Kano or Abuja, of course it doesn't make sense to fly first to Enugu and then embark on a road journey to Abuja and vice-versa if my final destination is Enugu or Eastern Nigeria. In fact, i am yet to see a Nigerian without any need to fly to Enugu that will do so because it is shorter, just to then embark on another even longer road trip to his final destination in Lagos. Even for those of us living in close-by Warri. Therefore, if your final destination is not Abuja or Lagos, for an accurate analysis of your itinerary, you must add the layover time to fly from Abuja to your final destination of Enugu or Owerri or you can add 6 to 8 hours road journey from Lagos or Abuja to those eastern cities if you intend to travel by road. |
nwaobitex: The controversial letter Chief Olusegun Obasanjo wrote to President Goodluck Jonathan has continued to generate ripples with a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Buruji Kashamu alleging that the former president took on the president for selfish reasons.Obasanjo is a common criminal.Such criminals only thrive is dysfunctional societies as Nigeria. But i see his cup is finally becoming full.He should stop hiding under smokescreen of letters and make a real attempted coup and see the result for himself. Ode! |
NO WORK NO PAY policy should start early enough immediately....while negotiations happens. That helps to add urgency to the negotiations from all parties. BTW, why did they wait for ASUU to call off theirs before embarking on their own? |
onomeasike: 1) The Ijaws are minorities and they still have an exaggerated impression of their real population and geographical boundaries. (refer to their battles with original landowners in benin, warri, ilajeland etc and controversy over who is a real Ijaw for example people from where the president hail from are not historically regarded as Ijaws unlike Asari Dokubo who is from the real ijaw clans)Your entire presumption is that because Ijaw is termed a "minority" group in Nigeria, they should be oppressed and any attempt to fight for their rights will be defeated because they are a minority? How superficial you can be in your analysis. First of all, Nigeria cannot defeat Ijaw in any true combat unless it gets help from world powers like US or Britain. In any case, who will be fighting the Ijaws? Yorubas or /and Hausa? Infact, the Yoruba has its own hidden agenda to break away from Nigeria and i suspect in their wisdom of sharing border with Ijaw, they will not want to turn their region into a battleground. So i suspect only the Hausa will take the folly of fighting the Ijaw? With the present world order and economic order, they will be silly to expect the type of unquestionable help from Britain and Russia which helped them win the Biafran war. As a matter of fact, those countries have more to gain from a more manageable divided Nigeria than how it is presently constituted. The same type of silly argument was made about Southern Sudan being a minority and impoverished that the north was going to snuff the life out of it if it dares to go for independence. Today, the nation of South Sudan proudly exist in the world. The same argument was put forward for former Soviet republics as Lithuania,Georgia,Ukraine etc, all those countries defeated the mighty Soviet union and are independent republics today. Therefore, if the Ijaw decides to go its separate way, which may very well be the case after 2015, Nigeria cannot force her to be part of this cess pool of a country simply because our oil is needed to finance Islamic terrorists running around in northern Nigeria. If they want to war, they should already know through the Niger Delta crisis that the Ijaw isn't afraid of one. |
New Zik Avenue Bridge opens in Enugu The newly constructed half a kilometer Zik Avenue bridge in Enugu urban will be open to traffic today almost two weeks after its total closure. Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure Goddy Madueke said the bridge, which was partially opened to ease traffic, was closed to enable the contractors work on the link road to Ogui Road from Zik Avenue and to complete the little portion that was left while the new bridge was being constructed by an Italian Construction company. He explained that the new bridge replaces the old one which existed for over 50 years. He described the repair work as part of the promise-fulfilled.by Governor Sullivan Chime. Chime, he said, had given a firm promise that none of the projects he initiated will be left uncompleted before he vacates office in 2015. The Commissioner said most of the on-going projects have reached between 70-95 per cent completion and assured that with the 2014 budget, “most of the projects will be completed and commissioned before his tenure expires” He said some of the major projects like the Naira Triangle/Abakaliki Road dualisation, the New Haven Tunnel, the Akwata road, new Secretariat building, new Government House Building, many urban and rural roads among others being handled by Sullivan administration “are land mark projects which the governor will be remembered for many years after he left office.” The Commissioner said: “Because of high priority which the governor places on infrastructure, our budget has remained the highest since he came to power and this is reflected in 2014 budget which our budget is about N15 billion, an indication that all the projects being undertaken and even new ones that may be awarded must be completed before he leaves office.” Source: http://www.worldstagegroup.com/worldstagenew/index.php?active=news&newscid=12662&catid=2 |
only in Nigeria do liars and coup plotters like OBJ become honored men in the society. No wonder it is such a cess pool. |
achi4u: you are right. Abia and Anambra state remain the power house when it comes to economic activities no matter what their igr figure says.Bros, if don't want to celebrate Ebonyi State, I will ! One thing i love about my Gov. Uduaghan is his Delta without oil development drive. But that discussion is for another day. I visited Abakaliki in July of 2012 and i was quietly impressed with what i saw there from the last time i was there in 2007. That state is led by a cerebral old man who knows exactly what sustainable development mean. While the other so called richest states are still groping in the dark trying to figure out how to use their commercial endowment to create jobs and develop their industrial potential,Ebonyi state is already full steam ahead in modernizing her agricultural endowment and animal husbandry into industrial clusters! Bet me, with the pace of agricultural development in Ebonyi, it won't be long that it quickly climbs the GDP ladder to become one of Nigeria's richest states. The good thing with Ebonyi state is that their leaders have found their niche! That "comparative advantage" in agriculture, thus they are busy developing their agricultural output, basing their industrial revolution and development mostly on small sized agricultural processing & packaging factories. That is a sure recipe for success! I celebrate Ebonyi not necessarily for having a robust IGR relative to other neighboring states, but because it is truly on the right track to modernize and industrialize of her agricultural niche ! If the new Anambra governor Obaino is somehow able to develop their oil and commercial endowment to attract investors into it, then they would have found their niche also. |
...and what is still delaying VC's of the affected schools from sacking the recalcitrant and lazy lecturers? The quality of tertiary education will actually improve gradually after these lazy dead woods are off loaded. |
T8ksy: 4 REAL!!! 3million Nigerians, gratuitously lost their lives!!! How can we ever forget ikemba's "footprints" on this planet?Femi Fani Kayode your infatuation with the Ojukwus is legendary! |
Imo people, abeg leave those Hausa people, please encourage them to flood your state. They will be good insurance policy for 2015. If any of your people are molested anywhere with the dog and baboon will be soaked in blood policy of Buhari, you know where to vent your revenge. ![]() Talk to them and ask them to go and bring more of their brothers to Owerri. ![]() |
Anambra and Abia must plug the leakages in their IGR. From what Ebonyi is posting as IGR, one can only imagine the monumental leakages happening to Anambra and Abia IGR. Many people have become billionaires collecting government taxes and pocketing it!
I agree with you. Many states IGR resemble those of their neighbors. See Lagos and Ogun for example. Anambra's true IGR should be closer to Delta's while Abia's IGR should be closer to Rivers! They should plug the leakages a.k.a CORRUPTION in their system! |
Afam4eva: I disagree that the absence of quality residential area is the reason why High class have refused to live in Igboland. The reason is that for a lot of these high class people have no business in the South East. The only reason why they would erect a nice building most times is because they see Igboland as their Ancestral land. The government of the SE have to put in measures to make the creme de la creme of the Igbo society to remain in the SE.Bros, i don't know how old you are, but at the proper age when the time comes for you to decide where to settle your family, you will consider: Roads, security, decent housing/ good neighborhood, electricity, water, good schools and hospitals. You may even consider your job last and sometimes may prefer to work in one city while your family lives in another. I live in my house off Jakpa road in Warri but i bought a nice bungalow house in Asaba for my family because of some reasons i have enumerated. You must think that the only reasons Nigerians go abroad and refuse to come back is because of jobs? Bros, you will be surprised to know that many Nigerians abroad can very well run their businesses even better when they are based here. But the reasons i have outlined are holding them back. Yes, lack of decent well planned estates and decent neighborhoods can make you decide never to live in a particular city over another. No disrespect meant to my dear Ibo people here, but personally, i will never live in Onitsha, even if you gave me a job paying $1 million dollars a week! ![]() |

Afam4eva: Apart from Akanu Ibiam, we had ZIK, Opara and Ukpabi Asika,Point of correction, Ukpabi Asika was the governor of EAST CENTRAL STATE not Eastern Region! It is like naming Odigie Oyegun as a governor of mid-West region. |
Is his name Goriola?

Na lie o! The team APC is led by FFK using that ilugun and agbameta monikers! You just can't win APC in propaganda o! Keep dreaming until 2015. We go dash una serious surprises in 2015. That is if Junaid does not make me to quit APC and join to kill dem dem here. |

, yes I said it, only if it had happened here.. APC e-rats and ants would have attacked in a vapid manner...
The ijaws are in serious economic poverty even right now let alone when there is war.The cost of consumables in ijaw communities is usually high because the expensive cost of water transportation of goods is usually built into the cost of goods (even ordinary sweet sold #5 costs #20 in far flung ijaw communities)
