queeniejck: I just got a refusal letter from UKVI today.
Reason was: You have applied to enter the UK for 15 days for the purpose of tourism, I acknowledge the documents you have submitted from your sponsors. However it is your personal circumstances which is paramount in assessing your application. You state that you are employed earning an annual income of 9,500,000 NGN (£18,050). In support of your application you have provided documents in relation to your company ……LTD, However these documents do not demonstrate that your business is actively trading at the level of income you have declared on your application, You state that you will personally spend 700.000 NGN (£1,330) on your visit 1o the UK. In support of you finances you have provided copies of your personal bank statement which shows deposits that are not in line with what you have declared on your application. Combined with the concerns raised regarding your employment, I am not satisfied that your circumstances are as you have presented, leading me to doubt your intention to visit the UK at this time. • In light of the above, I am not satisfied that you intend leave the UK at the end of your visit or that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor. Therefore your application is refused under paragraphs V4.2 (a) & (c) of Appendix V. Please guys Any advice on what to do next? 1. Evaluate your income from your company well and state as such on the application form with all necessary document. Make sure all sales and transaction are done through your bank to prove the company is active and not dormant 2. Explain every lumpsum or deposits aside your stated monthly income in your personal bank statement. |

Godrescues: Hello House,
I so much appreciate the sharing of info here .
Please I want to know if one can use funds in a joint account of sponsor ( husband) and dependant ( wife) as POF? Or should the dependant just open a personal account and move the POF there. The joint account is in both names and they share the same surname. 1, is it company's account, if yes, then you write signed consent letter to the ECO and explain the amou t available for her. 2, If is not company's account, then you explain the source of the money and how it will be available for her |

Wales1111: Hello everyone its been a while here....pls gurus in the house...I was in the UK December 2020 and I left the UK may 2021 which is after 5 months...today makes it a year that I left the UK I want to go again in December....I think I have respected them by not over staying so I should have a big chance of getting the visa again right? My other question is should I apply for six months again or 2 yrs...your response will be appreciated pls...I want to start the process soon.... 1.You did not overstay your visa 2. Your circumstance changed as a result of the coronavirus which was beyond your control 3. You did not rely on public funds 4. Halted flight from Nigeria to UK and vice versa You are good to reapply for 2 years provided your circumstance in Nigeria has not change. The ECO knows all those things but you can explain in the cover letter and add the leave extension letter to support it. The ECO will even pity you for not enjoying your prvious holidays as planned. |

whitley: Good evening my nairaland family, please I need advice on visa application for my mom on visiting visa. 1)" I just concluded my msc and my graduation is July 28th I would want my mom to use the opportunity to get a uk visa, she's a single mom as my dad has passed and she does business(food) although she makes good money enough to cover her trip and proof of funds but most lodgment is cash and the business not CAC certified and sometimes she doesn't even pay to her account especially when shes try to say ny little hro school fees. Also she gets rent from her properties. I know I can attach my invite letter and certificates of completion to her application but the properties are in my name" so what's the best way to show the VO that she's has ties back home.
2)Also my younger brother who's 19 years still goes to a private uni enough to show ties?
3)PS, my wife just applied to switch to work visa we haven't gotten decision yet would this hinder hers?..... 1. My brother, the hard truth is, it will be difficult to convince the ECO to grant your mum visa 2. Your brother would need school fees receipt, school introductory letter, transcript, personal bank statement showing how he support himself on daily basis 3. No, it will not

Angeltemmy1: My mum is trying to apply for a visit visa to the uk, my sister is based there but she’s a full time mom. My mum has some funds but not enough in her account, can I also support her with my bank statement in Canadian dollar , I am based in Canada but will be funding her trip to Uk to visit my sister, my sis in uk will be sending invitation letter. Is this acceptable? Is acceptable so far as you prove to the ECO she can access it but what is her personal circumstance or ties in Nigeria. 1. Economic circumstance- is she employed, unemployed or retired to merit your sponsorship 2. Social ties- husband, children and grandchildren in Nigeria 3. Travel history 4. Financial circumstance - funds available for her trip (i think is the one you are providing) |

Longjonjoe: I also got a refusal letter today, imagine waking up and gbam! The email just dropped. The two reasons why i was denied was the large sum of money I received between December and January, the money didn’t have a narration, now i see the reason why when transferring money from one of your account to the other, always write a narration maybe “savings” or just state what the money will be used for. I didn’t explain the large sum in a letter to UKVI. The 2nd reason was my company i work for, they said they checked it on CAC and it showed “INACTIVE” omo i weak!!! I’ve been working here for 3 years now. Guys please how soon can I reapply, i was advised by a friend that i should wait for 6 months. That is far. Has anyone applied immediately after they got s refusal and got the visa eventually or they waited 6 months. I will gladly appreciate your answers please. Thank you I think, your major issue is the CAC showing inactive, until it shows active forget uk. With the lump sum, explain the source with a document in your cover letter |

Marviana: Good evening all Happy Ramadan, 1.I think you were not lucky. The bank statement you submitted was not the wrong since it was the true reflection of your personal circumstance but you needed to write a cover letter to explain the absence of your December to February salary. if you had done that, the ECO would have deferred your case and contact your employer to confirm your circumstance. 2. With the conversion rate, next time, state the amount you are paid in USD for the ECO to do the conversion for you. In conclusion, you can still apply now and clearly explain in your cover letter
I just got a refusal letter. I did my biometrics on the 23rd of March. I think the first mistake I made was to use the black market rate to calculate my salary, I get paid in USD and at the time I applied I didn't know about Oanda or Nairaland and I noticed the Eco's conversion was in Pounds and slightly higher than what I earn. I hope this wouldn't be seen as deceit from my side.
The main reason for my refusal as stated was that there was no inflow of cash from December to March. I agree that there was some payment delay from December to February (3 months). I didn't know how long it was going to take and I had sufficient funds to cover my trip, an invitation letter from a friend who is a British national, he agreed to accommodate me during my 2 weeks stay so we decided that I put in my application instead of waiting for my outstanding salary. I did state I'd be spending 1.1m( 2,123 £)on the trip Payment for March only was made right before I printed my bank statement and went for my biometrics, I honestly thought that would suffice. Exactly a month after my biometrics I was paid for the months owed. (Too little too late).
Please I just want to know how to proceed, how soon should I reapply? Should I also state that I used the black market rate of that day which resulted to a slightly higher salary as calculated by the Eco which was different from what was captured on my statement. How should I prove that the deposit that came in really was for the outstanding salary?
Lastly, is it advisable to use the tourism route this time with a shorter stay (maybe 9 days) given my friend and I aren't on good terms and he's not giving another invitation letter.
Please how do you advise I handle this? Where do you think I went wrong please? I'm stuck. Thank you |

[quote author=nwaogukings03 post=112428035]Hello house, I submitted 4months (2nd Jan to 29th April 2022) account statement and 3 months (Jan to March 2022) pay slips. In the account statement, the April salary only reflected in the "useable Balance" and not in the closing balance nor in the credit section because i printed out the account statement the same day the salary was paid. I was trying to upload and submit all my documents the night before my the morning of my TLS appointment. I heard the documents must be submitted 24hrs before appointment. Also April pay slip was not ready by the time i submitted my documents. Although i explained these small details in the visa cover letter which i uploaded in the "other" section (for self-service), i keep on thinking that i should have delayed submitting my documents until 30th April morning - the morning of TLS appointment - so that the April salary will reflect in the credit and closing balance of my account statement. I'm also worried if the visa officers will see my cover letter in the "other" section. Would they judge my financial status based on the closing balance or would they acknowledge the useable balance? who knows please?[/quot e]1. You were supposed to submit 6 month bank statement(though less than that is not grounds for refusal) 2. It would have been proper for you to explain in the cover letter the submission of your four month bank statement 3. if you were employed in January then the Onus is on the ECO to access your ties in your country but if you were employed long ago then it gives the ECO impression that you are not a genuine visitor. |
