PoliticsRe: We Need To Tackle The Problems Of The Poor For Our Economy To Grow- VP Osinbajo by waveman2: 5:01pm On Nov 30, 2018
You social investment program cannot contribute anything meaningful to the economy. A vibrant and industrialized economy will help the poor to create wealth and in turn prosper the economy. Sometimes I wonder how this osibanjo think between him and buhari I Don, t know who is more educated.

Nigerians are wiser, he opposed the creation of due process unit, yet the unit was created but that didn't, stop the inflation of contract from the obasanjo regime to buhari.Maybe he had better ideas.

The same second Niger bridge the ignorant IPOB haters, and emotionally challenged urchins say is a scam and nothing is happening at site is what their leaders are going to thank and prostate to Buhari for
PoliticsRe: Southeast Thanks Buhari Over Niger Bridge, Seeks Shorter Completion Period by waveman2: 7:55am On Nov 22, 2018
but truth be told any government that comes to power be it pdp or APC will abandoned that secondbniger bridge project. let's be realistic.Nigeria is not bouyant enough for that except it is been concessioned.

1. population is a double edge sword. when you have a population that has majority depending on Government, this 9ja situation is inevitable. check out China, they have a very large population, but they are still leading in world economy cus the manpower is not so dependent on government, same applies to US, in contrast check Brazil and India, though their situations are not as dire as that of Nigeria, but it's not still reflecting the size of the population.

Any any of these countries you mentioned us, china etc. Government policies always stimulate growth in the population. How many people in Nigerian that have bright ideas are bouyant enough to start their own business. We know that a large amount of people in this category are basically youth. They need government support with banks encouraged to give loans to young entrepreneurs atlow interest rate. But I forget our are not strong enough has they, ve been basterdized by implementation of TSA all in one swoop. The government therefore has to do it alone through CBN.

2. natural resources is an area where u will start blaming Gawon and every individual that followed him, up to Buhari, equally, if u want to be objective. they have made the country over reliant on Oil, forgetting to develop other natural resources, lit Tin, Ore, Agriculture nd a host of others.

He spoke about diversification but we all know his own idea about diversification is agriculture. As the resources in the north cannot be touched. What happened to the discovery of gold in kaduna.

3. issues like Technology you will have to be specific in what ways he has not done anything. remembering that state owned firms are not much again, cus they were sold under OBJ. I will understand government policies if u argue towards that line,
Tell his minister of science and technology to start performing. Most of this technology companies can be invited to Nigeria to start building plants here then you would see development in technology.
PoliticsRe: APC Propaganda Destroyed Nigeria's Economy, Caused Recession - Jonathan by waveman2: 11:58am On Nov 21, 2018
Brother In reality you have less import from our seaport now compared to the time obasanjo/Jonathan was there because of the ban on several items.the major problem is not really import but capital flight has many investors have lost confidence in this government policies.

asfrank:
ask yourself how much of importation was Nigerians doing by then. can u compare d demand for foreign exchange that was then with what is obtainable now? theory of demand nd supply should give you the answer. everybody in this country now is an importer. Check the activities at the sea ports. when the country can't manufacture most of the goods they consume or the rate at which they produce is not commensurate with the demand they import, and you need FX. again u are bringing these goods at a price that is already above the cost price Into the country cus the importer has to make profit. brother there are a lot of variables, some of these things it's better to explain verbally for me. the present government has their challenges based on current realities,
PoliticsRe: APC Propaganda Destroyed Nigeria's Economy, Caused Recession - Jonathan by waveman2: 11:51am On Nov 21, 2018
And before I forget, this six factors contributes to GDP growth as google is your friend.

1.Natural resources(this is why we called for restructuring so all states can harness they God given resources for better standard of living)

2.physical and capital infrastructure. ( in this area buhari tried as he is completing most project initiated by previous government, government is continium)

3.population or labor.

4.Human capital development. (this administration has failed in this area)

5.Technology.Buhari didn't, even go there.

6.Law.

asfrank:
Kai Brother don't say what u don't know because people are saying it. do u Know the term Value of Money? do u think $25 in 2002 can still afford you the same thing in 2018? there are a lot of variables that account for GDP growth. some of these things you don't just accept what the politicians say. use your own intellect also.
PoliticsRe: APC Propaganda Destroyed Nigeria's Economy, Caused Recession - Jonathan by waveman2: 11:27am On Nov 21, 2018
So please educate me how obasanjo was able to keep the dollar at $165 or there about when crude oil price had gone down and the military had basterdized our foreign reserves.

PoliticsRe: APC Propaganda Destroyed Nigeria's Economy, Caused Recession - Jonathan by waveman2: 9:55am On Nov 21, 2018
"Also, the excuse of the collapse of world crude prices does not hold water. This is because the Fourth Republic took off in 1999 with crude oil selling for less than $20 per barrel and a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth at 0.58 per cent, according to National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) figures. Yet, the economy maintained a steady growth from that year, peaking at 15.33 per cent in 2002 when the average crude oil price was about $25".

Zombies really need to ready this and check fact, then go and ask obasanjo how he was able to stir the economy when crude oil price drop to $20 per barrel. A good leader doesn't, blame anyone for his failure.

This is not 2015 where we had a southern contesting against a northerner. Buhari should have worked hard for the 2019 election by embracing the SE from the onset. Jonathan embrace the north after he won the 2011 election even when they did not vote for him.

I Don, t understand when people say buhari is fighting corruption and hence he is to only person we trust not to steal our common wealth. But the question is will buhari not leave that sit again. It means if buhari leave there will be nobody to be entrust with our common wealth.I think at this point we should be building strong institutions that can itself fight off corruption. Checkout us and other First World countries, presidents are not voted to come and be fighting corruption. If you are corrupt as a public servant the system will fish you out, these are the laws I expected buhari to put in place in this is first four years.

"Buhari announced that at least 15 million new jobs would be created in the next phase of his administration if re-elected."

This man don start again. 15 million new jobs or 15 million more job losses. In your first term you can not develop human capital which in the long run lead to economic growth. Well we have to choose a between fighting corruption via media trials or a leader that will bring prosperity through job creation/human capital development to the people.

The private sector are in for business to make profit, nobody will leave his country and come to invest in a country where government interfers. If they come to your country to invest x dollars they intend to make 3X dollars. We as a people we have to develop our own economy by industrialization where people have access to good loan for business. If not you complain pdp did 16 years nothing to show for it but I bet you APC will do 16 years and we will even be in a worse condition.A government that is ready to work for the people in the first four years the developmental indices will be there.

ImperialYoruba:
You all focus totally on govt and leave out private sector. Thieves that looted our treasury took the money out to improve and streghten economy in foreign lands. If they had invested the money here it would boost local industries, labour market and promote redistribution of wealth favorably. PDP ruined the economy.

4x4=16.
APC has only been there 4yrs and the damage done by PDP was so severe and deep that all the 4yrs APC has been occupied putting STOP-GAPS in places that leaked for 16yrs. That work is one quarter of PDP timeline in destruction. The gains of this Administration would be felt when it spends another quarter (4yrs).
PoliticsRe: Live Update: Kwara Bye Election by waveman2: 3:41pm On Nov 17, 2018
Who would want to bring industries here where business conditions are not favourable. No electricity,no good road, etc.wr the citizens have to do it ourselves but not without government support. We have to encourage entrepreneurs, grant credit facilities and low interest loans to geniue business people. But this government is not serious about that. It's still business as usually. Who do you know.

Go and study your economics very well u will understand that for a country that Don, t produce anything and virtually import since it is cheaper to import than to produce here, then you will know we are in trouble.

PoliticsRe: Live Update: Kwara Bye Election by waveman2: 9:02am On Nov 17, 2018
My friend buhari was never prepared for this presidency. He has no economy blueprint. As long as dollar is exchanged for 365 naira things will continue to be bad for Nigerians and good for politicians/FG.They earn in dollars (oil, importation payment etc).check how much it is to clear a car from our port, how many people can afford Belgium cars this days? If you want to lock up a tap you have to ensure you have plenty of water in storage that would take care of your needs.

SaintLucia:
Why did you omitted Buhari regime from 1983-85? Buhari/Idiagbo met petrol at 20Kobo and still left it at 20Kobo. The only regime that did not increase the price of petrol.

Like I said ask your parent how the country was in 1999 before PDP came to power. Ask them whether the refineries were working or not during Buhari/Idiagbo regime and why the previous governments after Buhari/Idiagbo regime continue to increase the price of petrol.

We had no problem buying fuel at N87 as purchasing power was equivalent.People could full their tanks during the last regime but go and fine out now as I know you hardly leave your house since you are a old man. People can hardly put Quater liter of fuel in their cars. Alot of people have abandoned their cars and Mr integrity that removed fuel subsidy telling us that it was for our good so our refineries can work we are in 2019 and yet we are still importing. Why make people suffer.

You actually had no answer for questions the idiot asked you. And if you where smart enough you would understand that inflation was on a steady rise during pdp 16 years in power but for APC 4 years we have seen rapid rise because one man think everyone is corrupt except himself.

SaintLucia:
One idiot from the other side of Nigeria was telling me to atikulate and I asked why? He said a litre of petrol was #97 under PDP, a bag of rice was #8K, a dollar was #197,

I quickly reminded him that it was above #200 toward the end of Jonathan regime, he continued that other commodities were cheaper under PDP.

As I was about to reply the idiot then the mother called him and that was when I discovered that the idiot mother was my junior colleague when I was in secondary school. I just told the idiot to ask the mother how much were the prices of those things he mentioned before PDP took over power from the military and what was the price they left them before handling power to Buhari.

I also told him to ask his mother to give him a sincere answer whether Nigeria was moving forward from the day the military handed power to PDP or not. Too many gullible children even on Nairaland who believe Buhari is the cause of their suffering.
