Adamu Garba, a former presidential nominee, has refused to appear in court for the $1 billion suit he filed against Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter.

A Nigerian lawyer human rights lawyer, Tope Akinyode, who revealed this on Twitter also disclosed that the case was adjourned by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja until April 2021. Mr. Adesina Ogunlana, a lawyer for #EndSARS, said that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will have to appear before the Inquiry Judicial Panel to investigate the shooting that took place at Lekki tollgate on October 20.




Recounting how Brigadier General Ahmed Taiwo, Commander of the 81 Military Intelligence Brigade, Victoria Island, Lagos, alleged that soldiers were deployed after they were reached by Governor Sanwo-Olu, Ogunlana said that it would be necessary for the Governor to appear before the tribunal, especially to demonstrate his professed belief in the rule of law.




When asked whether the governor's appearance was important to his clients' case and whether he would press for the governor's appearance before the tribunal, Punch was told by Ogunlana;




“Of course, that is taken. That person (Sanwo-Olu) will have to come; he’s a factor and he will come. He says he believes in the rule of law, his Attorney General, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), has come to appear before that panel to just make a short speech and to affirm that the Lagos State Government is indeed committed to unraveling the truth about what happened at Lekki on that day; and the military has mentioned him, so, he is a factor.”

Police confirm abduction and murder of former NUPENG chairman in Rivers

The abduction and killing of former Rivers State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Employees (NUPENG) Ebenezer Kalabo Amah, popularly known as ETK, has been reported by the Rivers State Police Command.

Command spokesman Nnamdi Omoni, who verified the incident on Friday, November 20, said the gunmen trailed the retired Shell employees on Wednesday night to his residence on Precious Chukwu Street in Woji, Obio/Akpor State Local Government Area.




His car was blocked, pulled out and whisked to an unknown location by the attackers. On the following day, Thursday, his lifeless body was found dumped in Peter Odili Lane.




"He was kidnapped in Woji on the 17. That same day, the police recovered his vehicle. While we were searching for him, we got information that his body was dumped somewhere at Peter Odili Road," Omoni said.

So we got there the next day on the 18th, and discovered that he was the same person who had been abducted the day before. His body was evacuated and taken for preservation at the hospital mortuary. In our custody is the car. "The investigation has started into the incident to ensure that the suspects are apprehended behind the dastardly act," he said.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has said it would not allow anyone to blackmail or intimidate the party about where its presidential ticket for 2023 should be zoned.




Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Mbazulike Amaechi and Idongesit Ikanga, the ruling party that replied to statements by some Southern leaders, advised Southern leaders to lean on lobbying as there is no need to overheat the political system with the 2023 ticket.




Nabena Yekini, Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC, claimed in the statement;

“They don’t have any right to tell people what to do. It is not by force, threat or intimidation but by negotiation. If they feel strongly about the ticket, they should form their own political party and give their ticket to whichever zone they want to produce the president in 2023.

“It is called politics because you cannot impose anybody on any person. It is a game of numbers. The Southeast must lobby and tell other regions what they have for them. By the way, it is even too early to talk about zoning in 2023. Instead of heating up the polity, they should resort to alliance, lobbying and consultations."

The perpetrator was found to have been shot in the leg while attempting to escape after allegedly depriving a victim of her phone.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command refuted claims that the stray bullet that killed a newspaper vendor in Abuja on Thursday, November 19, was shot by a policeman attached to Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila.




A statement issued by the command's Public Relations Officer, ASP Yusuf Mariam, reveals that the security agent who fired the shot was not, as has been widely reported, a policeman.

On Wednesday night, November 18, a young lady was found lying helplessly on the roadside in Lekki, Lagos state.




Adebola Isaac, an IG user who saw a lady lying on the ground, posted a video he made of her and wrote about her.




''I pray this girl survive it till next morning 2325hrs I left her by lekki phase 1 gate I think she was drugged or on drugs but she needs help pls''




By getting her milk and water, Isaac said he did his best and also asked the security guards in the area to watch over her till this morning.
