Admin/ operational requirements could mean VPN/cybersecurity issues, slow internet, electricity.
Tax obligations- hiring tax consultants (not cheap) to do taxes as it involves international jurisdictions or to claim tax exemptions in uk.

Calm down! You don't post an advert stating that all locations are eligible to apply only to make a U-turn stating that my application cannot be processed because of my country of residence. And as for your last statement, we already know that some remote workers used to face challenges with electricity, slow network and other VPN related issues, but those challenges have been majorly overcome. So, trying to use that to justify the actions of your demigod Caucasians is the height of blind loyalty.

White people cherish their time, and I do to. So, they have no right to waste my time and expect me not to react. Nigerian employees are the worst kind. They will steal the profits plus the capital used as investment. But sometimes I blame these business for not carrying out a monthly or weekly stock.

Recently, I applied for the position of an Assessment Specialist at Cambridge International. For pointers, that wasn't my first time as they had been engaging Nigerians. To my dismay, my application was unsuccessful, and the email stated that they couldn't process my application because they cannot recruit from my country of residence for operational reasons. I sought to know what these operational reasons was about, and received another email stating that the decision was based on the following factors:

* Complying with local legal and tax obligations.
* Administrative and compliance requirements that they are no longer equipped to manage.

I wasn't really convinced about the reasons stated above, so I sought to know more about the labor laws governing remote workers in Nigeria, and the recent tax reforms introduced by the Federal Government. Here are some of the key things I noted:

* Nigeria's labor laws incorporate international standards.
* There are no laws regulating remote workers.
* Providing service to a foreign client qualifies as an export, but a remote worker does not have to charge for VAT.
* Foreign companies hiring Nigerian remote workers, but with no presence in Nigeria do not have to register with FIRS, and have no mandate to withhold Nigerian tax.

Though there are other laws under the new tax reforms, one thing is glaring: "these laws are focused more on remote workers and have little or no impact on foreign clients hiring Nigerians". This begs the question: So, why are foreign organizations rejecting applications from Nigerians, whilst citing compliance with tax obligations and other flimsy excuses?

As I try to wrap my head around this, I have come up with the conclusion that most of these foreign companies may have joined the bandwagons of foreigners who see Nigerians as no good, and are just been vindictive. They may also be jealous of the fact that remote workers earn in dollars and spend in naira; a luxury most of them cannot afford.

Whatever their real reason is for the sudden and frequent rejection of remote workers in Nigeria, I may never know, but one thing is certain: "most Caucasians think the world revolve around them and sometimes, an act of charity or service from them is actually a personal aggrandizement of their delusional superiority". They feel only them have the power to make the rules, while others are expected to follow them without questions. Unless I see an official document that makes it stringent for foreign clients to hire Nigerians, I still maintain that the issue is more personal than administrative.

People should stop making it sound like 'beautiful women' earn on a platter of gold without doing nothing. These women are subjected to all sort of sexual abuse before they are gifted a benz or a house. The truth is, most women with dignity would rather choose to work hard than engage in what most of these girls are doing to earn a living. These women have no qualms sleeping with animals, multiple men, and eating poo just for the money.

Recently, I came across a woman who once had a sexual encounter with a snake, orchestrated by an Alhaji she was dating at the time.Today, she is married and I can't help but feel sorry for the unfortunate husband. So,when next you see that pretty girl flaunting a nice car or chilling in a posh apartment, don't envy her because she paid dearly for it.

Huh! This is crazy! It was a cold blooded murder, and could have even been premeditated, so there is no justification for her pardon. Criminals always feel remorseful after they are caught, and using that as reason for her pardon is totally ridiculous. If her death sentence is not commuted to life, then the president might as well pardon every remorseful criminal who is a parent because their children are missing them too. Obviously, the president was advised wrongly and he should do the needful by commuting her death sentence to life in jail.

An update to this news says the woman has been exonerated, but Nairaland boys are still trying so hard to paint the woman as a murderer. Smh!

It gives the OP the feeling of schadenfreude whenever he hears that people are not having a good marriage. If he wants to remain single, why can't he do so in peace and let others enjoy their marriages. I may not be thrilled about something, but will never try to dissuade others from experimenting it to make me feel good.

For those that will ask what happened:

I needed someone to edit a podcast into video, the person I was in contact with has went for NYSC. So I saw his post and commented. He reached out to me on whatsapp hours later.

We talked, and agreed on 10k. He wants all 10k, and I said since I dont know him or seen his work before, ill do 50% upfront and balance when he's done. Dude Agreed. He said he will be done with the editing by noon.

I paid him and immediately he received alert, thats when he came up with me paying his balance before he start work. Anyways, he stopped responding to text since then and didnt answer his phone either. Yet he didnt refund me.

Its just crazy how Nigerians behave! They'll destroy anything for 5k. 😃.

Lol...You are a generous buyer. As a seller, no one has ever paid me first before doing a task. I have never even had the balls to ask anyone for advance payment first. I always complete a task, deliver and hope to be paid. I was scammed a few times by some buyers, but just moved on.

I can bet on my life that the guy has zero skills in the task you paid him for, but you fell for his trap and sent him free money. I must confess that I admire his ability to trick you into paying first for a task he knows nothing about. Anyways, just move on because you have been scammed.

There could be more to the story than just Twitter rants. It is possible he was owing the friend and thought the dude had written the debt off. As soon as the friend got hold of the funds, he decided to take back his money. If his friend truly betrayed him, then he should start by telling us the amount involved and posting his friend's name since he is supposedly a criminal.

Sequel to the post Made here about two weeks ago. We've finally found her corpse. I'm really disheartened. My heart is really heavy.

It's so sad that the corpse of my relative(f) who was kidnapped, had just been found dead.

This is one of the most dastardly, inhuman, evil, wicked and heinous acts I have ever heard.
She was killed and buried same night that she was abducted. She was buried just behind her house, she wasn't taken anywhere. They buried her in a shallow grave same night. We all had thought that she was taken away. This has never happened in our community. My village has no mobile network, no electricity, not even good roads. We drink water directly from the river, no boreholes. It's a village in all sense of it. It's the strangest thing ever heard, done and seen.


How did they find out?

Two Men in the community were chosen and financially empowered to seek spiritual help to enable us get to find out her whereabout, they met a spiritualist in a different location who asked then to go back home and search her backyard thoroughly. They got back and did as instructed, only to find a shallow grave where she was killed and buried.

Sorry for your loss. When I read your first post, I assumed the village you were talking about was in the east. If it happened in Benue, let me also assume, (based on your previous post) that it's a village in zone C. It will be a good start to disclose the village so others can give you the right advice on how to proceed with the investigations. But it's okay if you don't want to disclose it.

I am certain many people asked her to forgive, forget and manage the guy like that because men are scarce and getting married is difficult and considered an achievement. Women are really suffering in this country! Kudos to her for sending the philanderer to hell where he belongs! He should marry the traitor since she is good in bed.

Because it is not considered a big deal in the western world. Age means nothing to the average white men, and they can settle for any woman regardless of her age; unlike our Nigerian brothers who are fond of age-shaming women. Of course, not every white man will settle for an older lady, but the majority of men will, and that is our focus here.

On the other hand, how many Nigerian men will agree to marry an older Nigerian woman, not to talk of those old enough to be their mothers? The reason these news flood our screens is because we know the guys are just getting married for the green card and nothing else.
