Go back if you know the god is there. Atheists cannot go back. Only future events can alter this path, verify one of the gods. Based on events in the past, the religious gods are make believe. So it's kinda funny for someone to seek reasons why he should return under the service of a make believe god.

It appears that you reject the god in your head rather than doubt it's existence. But I could be wrong.
