Lazyreporta:Windows VPS with Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) |
Premiumwriter:If you already installed Cyberpanel correctly on your VPS, then you need to point your domain name correctly to the server. You can do this in two ways: 1. "A Record" - assuming your VPS's IP address is this fictitious 120.7.32.1, you can create an A record at your domain registrar and point the domain to that IP. 2. Nameservers - you can create custom nameservers with your domain registrar using the VPS's IP address(s). You may consult your domain registrar in either case for further assistance. You would need to create a hosting account for your domain on the VPS. |
You can get a VPS within Nigeria here. |
See https://www.web4africa.net/clients/knowledgebase.php or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFuLjF-Dioc A support ticket would get results. |
https://web4africa.ng/the-4-best-web-hosts-for-nigeria-websites-rebutal/ Interesting analysis from an author trying to promote his site speed testing service. The site speed testing service has no single server on the African continent. A test from within Nigeria would have been way more accurate. Why should Web4Africa be blackmailed with speed tests to Singapore, Sydney, Japan etc when about 80% of our valued clients are in Africa? We have server hosting equipment across Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa, serving our clients and audience at unbeatable low latency and network speed delivery. In Nigeria, we deliver a latency of 1ms to most local ISPs. That surely trumps the 200ms+ latency from the USA to Nigeria. For a website that is chasing a global audience, Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) exist to breach the global latency issue. Thus, the location of your hosting server doesn't matter much if you make use of a CDN service that has a really global footprint. Say your website is hosted in Nigeria, the speed to users in far-flung places like New Zealand, Canada, Argentina, Russia etc would be very fast if the CDN service has a presence in those locations. Some CDN services are CloudFlare, Fastly etc.

The first thing is to log a ticket here: https://www.web4africa.net/clients/submitticket.php?step=2&deptid=1 or call 01 440 6074. Kindly stick to that. Rhazerq: |
Web4Africa offers .ng domains. |
Your payment has been processed and your domain renewed. It is probably a good idea that you renew your domain well in advance of expiry and not after or on the day of expiry - considering we sent you 4 domain renewal reminders since November 2016. Paying online with a card is also probably better than a bank transfer or deposit. Paying online offers instant service delivery. Thanks for your business. |
@OP, sorry for any and every inconvenience. Kindly reply with the last 7 digits of your phone number so we can check your account and take a look at the particular issue. |
tweetsme or Paul Arthur, again, this is your last chance to delete this alarmist thread. Your dossier is almost ready. tweetsme: |
Challenge taken. Your domain is ***marijuana.d** No? Full dossier coming in a few minutes. tweetsme: |
tweetsme, I noticed you have been active on this forum this morning, but have failed to respond to our question. I am giving you another 30 mins to respond with some proof, or delete this alarmist thread. Any of your name, email, invoice ID, ticket ID, domain etc. Anything. Afam4eva, Neddstark and others interested, you might want to grab your pop-corn and pull your seats closer to the screen. We have a clue who this fellow is. |
Thanks for your kind feedback. The immediate priority here is to identify the specific case and offer remedial action if any. The OP's alias doesn't offer any clue to his identity. Neddstark: |
Thanks for the feedback, resultcase. Mirrors are typically restricted to free and open-source Operating Systems (like CentOS, Fedora etc) or Software (like VLC, Apache, PHP etc). Web applications like the ones you mentioned are not our focus at present. |
It may be too early to draw conclusions. Neddstark: |
fighal:Sorry for the delayed reply. I hope the setup was sorted. Our official channels (email, phone etc) are always the best way to reach us for support. |
Our Nigeria telephone number has been updated to 01 440 6074. We can be reached via telephone during working hours, for now. |
We now mirror VLC. New suggestions still welcome. |
@ flimzy24 - if you're the client we suspected you are, the DNS setup was fixed same Sunday before you opened this alarmist thread. The screenshot I shared earlier is to the blog the domain was pointed to. If that your blog, you need to update the address you gave us to a real address. We do not tolerate fake physical addresses in our billing system. You risk having your domain suspended if you don't comply. @ bedfordng : I asked because our .com and .ng DNS configs work differently. Meanwhile, your .com domains were all activated last week for DNS management. Apologies. I couldn't get you on phone same day. Your phone was switched off. @ talk2hb1 - domain transfers are never completed instantly. It would take anything from a few hours to 7 days. Thanks for your support. |
OP, is this your domain?
|
talk2hb1:Most domains go through automatically most of the time. |

It's okay for a faceless individual to scream blue murder and not provide a single clue or proof so his allegation can be verified and solutions proffered? Did you notice the In your particular case, give me the type of domain. .com? .ng? I can reference and clarify. directly addressed to "bedfordng"? |
okoro2much, your responses are still at variance with fact. Repeating the same thing lies and deliberate exaggerations hardly make your responses true. Fact: 1. you registered a domain super-close to the legitimate domain of a university 2. you uploaded a cloned website of the school; in addition to copyright infringment of the school's web design, it is fraudulent and misleading 3. the domain was suspended based on complaints from the school and the .ng domain registry 4. you proceeded to register a very similar domain with another registrar - that other domain was suspended too, by the other registrar - you failed to give any response to that. Was the other registrar bribed too? 5. you hop on Nairaland to give false information about us. Despite publishing evidence to disprove you, you prefer to avoid the fact and keep spinning lies behind a faceless alias on Nairaland. 6. now, publishing a blog on to supposedly continue your war against the school doesn't prove anything. 7. Yes. Your account with us was closed so we don't have to deal with fake websites from you again. |
No. You won't answer for the OP. I need the specific domain name or his real name to even start checking the spurious allegations. Throwing words recklessly only by hiding behind an alias is hardly ideal. In your particular case, give me the type of domain. .com? .ng? I can reference and clarify. |
flimzy24:You CANNOT make wild allegations on a public forum and not back it up with fact. You cannot be traced in our billing system since you have not posted your personal name nor the supposed domain. I need something to check our system for your complaints. |
What is your name and/or domain name? |
spikesC:Thank you Sir. Web Hosting in Nigeria: Off-The-Grid Power Web Hosting in Nigeria: A network performance overview So, what would you like to be mirrored in Nigeria? |
okoro2much:You, Sir, are implying we were bribed? That's another proof that your vituperations on Nairaland are deliberate attempts to court public sympathy through misinformation. We don't need to be bribed to promptly disable a spurious website. |
Are you a developer or Linux user? What would you like mirrored in Nigeria? Web4Africa has been working on a local mirror for linux distros and important software/modules/scripts. The mission is to make the most popular open-source Operating Systems and software available locally, starting from Nigeria. Users in Nigeria would be able to benefit from very speedy downloads provided their ISP is peering locally. We currently host CentOS, Ubuntu and pypi in Nigeria. The CSR project details would be made public very soon. For now, your suggestions would be appreciated and considered for adding to the existing repository. |
