Foreign Affairs / North Korea Nuclear Test Will Be Part Of Fight Against U.S. by webcalculator(m): 7:50am On Jan 24, 2013
Seoul, South Korea (CNN) -- North Korea said Thursday that it
plans to carry out a new nuclear test and further long-range rocket launches, all of which it said are a part of a new phase of confrontation with the United States.

The North's National Defense Commission said the moves would feed into an "upcoming all-out action" that would target the United States, "the sworn enemy of the Korean people."

Carried by the state-run Korean Central News Agency, the defense commission statement followed a United Nations Security Council resolution on Tuesday that condemned North Korea's recent rocket launch and expanded existing sanctions.

North Korea, which often issues bellicose statements
in its state media, said Thursday that it rejected all
Security Council resolutions concerning it.

It described this week's resolution as "the most
dangerous phase of the hostile policy toward the
DPRK," using the abbreviated version of its official
name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Just before the North sent out its hostile statement, a
U.S. State Department official was telling reporters in
Seoul that Washington hoped that Pyongyang wouldn't carry out another nuclear test.

"It would be a mistake and a missed opportunity if they were to do it," said Glyn Davies, the U.S. special envoy on North Korea.
"This is not a moment to increase tension on the Korean
peninsula." North Korea has carried out two previous nuclear tests, in 2006
and 2009.

CNN's K.J. Kwon reported from Seoul, and Jethro Mullen from
Hong Kong. CNN's David Hawley in Seoul contributed to this
report.

The NUTA_BOLTS Team from
Anambra State University
represented the country at the 2012
annual event that took place in
Silverstone Circuit, Northampton, UK
ARTICLE | SEPTEMBER 14, 2012 - 11:55AM
Amidst Nigeria’s struggle for relevance
in the global technology sphere, some
Nigerian undergraduates have
imprinted the country’s name on the
stone by clinching the title for the Best
African representative and Best New
Comers at the July 2012 Formula Student
Competition where they were charged
with the task of designing and
constructing a formula race car.
The Nigerian undergraduates
(christened The NUTA_BOLTS Team) who
are currently studying for a various
Engineering degrees at the Anambra
State University were Nigeria’s sole
representative at the annual event
whose 2012 series took place in
Silverstone Circuit, Northampton, UK.
Six other African universities (five from
Egypt and one from South Africa) also
participated in the competition the
competition that drew contestants from
222 universities around the globe.
The Formula Student is an educational
motorsport competition, run by the
Institution of Mechanical Engineers
(IMechE), in partnership with various
well-known companies in the industry.
It promotes careers and excellence in
engineering, by challenging university
students from across the globe to design,
build, develop, market and compete as a
team with a small single sitter racing
car. It provides the students with a real-
life exercise in design and manufacture
and the business elements of automotive
engineering. It teaches them all about
team work, working under pressure and
to tight timescales. It demands total
commitment, lots of late nights, and
many frustrations and challenges along
the way, but the net result is the
development of highly talented young
engineers.
The competition starts at the beginning
of the university year when teams start
to design their cars. They are to assume
that a manufacturing firm has
commissioned them to produce a
prototype car for the non-professional
autocross or sprint racer sales market
with the intention of selling one
thousand units. To encourage
innovation, there are very few
restrictions on the overall vehicle
design. Successful teams are those who
produce a car that is not only fast and
reliable, but also low in cost and easy to
maintain. The car’s marketability is also
enhanced by other factors such as
aesthetics, driver comfort and the use of
common parts.
The competition offers team the
opportunity to undertake real-life
challenges and logistics, and develop the
skills they will need when they go on
work in industry.
For the NUTA_BOLTS boys whose design
was judged the 7th Overall Best, fame
didn’t just come. They have been
working laboriously since 2008 forging
seemingly trivial but ingenious designs.
The first design they embarked on then
was that of a unique Nut and Bolt which
gave them the name (The Nuta_Bolts).
They went further designing many other
components like the key-holder-opener
using the conventional lathe machine,
they also modeled the speed cone of a
lathe machine and later designed a
miniature camera. They were on plans
to designing and producing a multiple
Grinding Machine when the IMechE
team visited their school.
Twenty one in number, the team, whom
Professor Bamiro (former Vice
Chancellor of the University of Ibadan)
suggests would make good
technopreneurs is armed with strong
willed and motivated students from the
fields of Mechanical Engineering,
Architecture, Electrical & Electronics
Engineering, Civil Engineering and
Chemical Engineering organizing
themselves as a modern company.
The team according to team Leader,
Onyenanu Ifeanyichukwu "has already
kicked off preparation module to build
the car and race it in Silverstone by July,
2013."
As contained in the communiqué issued
at the end of the 21st COREN Assembly
where the NUTA_BOLTS team presented
a lecture, the government has been
“requested to financially support the
team to enable them develop, fabricate
and commission the race car”.

Three engineers and three
accountants are traveling by
train to a conference. At the
station, thethree accountants
each buy a ticket and watch as
the three engineers only buy one ticket.
"How are three people going to
travel on only one ticket?" asks
an accountant.
"Watch and you'll see,"
answered an engineer. They all board the train. The
accountants take their
respective seats but all three
engineers cram into a restroom
and close the door behind them.
Shortly after the train has departed, the conductor comes
around collecting tickets. He
knocks on the restroom door and
says,"Tickets, please!" The door
opens just a crack and a single
arm emerges with a ticket in hand. The conductor takes it and
moves on.
The accountants see this and
agree it is a clever idea. So after
the conference, the
accountants decide to copy the engineers on the return trip
and
save some money.
When they get to the station,
they buy one ticket for the
return trip. To their
astonishment, the engineers don't buy a ticket at all.
"How are you going to travel
without a ticket?" says one
perplexed accountant.
"Watch and you'll see,"
answered an engineer. When they board the train all
three accountants cram into a
restroom and the three
engineers cram into another one
nearby. The train departs.
Shortly afterwards, one of the engineers leaves his restroom
and walks over to the restroom
where the accountants are
hiding. He knocks on the door and
says, "Tickets, please!"
You can now complete the story!! :-P :-D

A mathematician, an engineer, and a physicist are being interviewed for a job. In each case, the interview goes along
until the last question is asked: "How much is one plus one?"

Each of them suspects a trap, and is hesitant to answer. The mathematician thinks for a moment, and says "I'm not sure, but I think it converges". The physicist says "I'm not sure, but I
think it's on the order of one" The engineer gets up, closes the door to the office, and says "How much do you want it to be?"

A manager decided to take a hot air balloon up without really
knowing how. He hits a fog bank and can't tell where he is or direction he's going. He lets the balloon down and at a bout 30
feet from the ground he sees a man fishing by a stream. He yells to the man, "Can you tell me where I am!" The man
fishing looks up and says, "You are in a hot air balloon about
30 feet in the air over a stream."

The manager sighs and yells, "You must be an engineer!" The
man fishing says, "Yes, I am. How did you know?" The
manager replies, "Because what you've told me is technically
correct, but it's of no use to me whatsoever!"
The man fishing yells back, "You must be a manager!" The manager, impressed, yells, "Yes, I am! But how did you know
THAT?"
The engineer looks up with a smile and says, "Because you don't know where you are, you don't know how you got
here, you have no technical skills to get yourself out of your situation, but somehow it's my fault now."

It pains me that nobody mentioned my school.

the car was assenbled at ANAMBRA STATE UNIVERSITY, Uli!

No matter how you hate the car, the truth is that we have advanced. with the help of the school management we have produced a sports car that contested in Formula student competition, london. A finer, well designed and fabricated sports car. We took first position in Africa. the car was better than the S.A and Egypt sports car that came to the competition. Off course we sold it there after the competition. will post it here later

Most people from pidgin english states (edo, delta, etc) find it difficult differentiating good english from pidgin english though i know a vast majority that can speak well.
To me, the problem we are having now emanates from secondary schools. it is in secondary school that one is taught how to make simple sentences. You don't learn sentence construction in university, your mind only builds on what you learnt in secondary school.

where i'm serving, the principal is from one of the TOP TEN but he cannot speak without you noticing grammatical errors; his memoranda are never devoid of grammatical blunder.

Crime / I Sold Human Parts To Churches And Ritual Killers – Joshua by webcalculator(m): 8:49pm On Nov 23, 2012
November 21st will ever remain
indelible in the heart of Oloko
villagers as members of the palace
guard to the community leader of
Ajara Topa community in
collaboration with a vigilante group
operating in the area arrested a
man who allegedly eats and sells
human parts to ritualists,
operating from a hole he dug
under the Gbaji bridge along the
Badagry-Seme border.
Joshua Akindele,56, hails from
Etokia Local Government in Ogun
State was earlier spotted by one
Anthony Amos who watched him
crawl into a hole under the Gbaji
bridge. Joshua confessed that he
had been into cannibalism and
ritual killing for the past 15 years,
after being introduced to the
business by a friend who
convinced him to stop driving
popular motor cycle known as
“Okada” which he claimed
profited him a little, but could not
sustain him. He further said that
he had been earlier sent to prison
for 5 years after molesting a 17-
year old girl.
Speaking with Crime Guard,
Akindele confessed to be the brain
behind the incessant killing within
the village using ply woods to hit
his human prey, and dragging them
into the holes before splitting their
parts for food and business… with
ritual buyers.
In his statement “I have been in
this business for the past 15 years
after my friend advised me to
stop riding okada and to join him
in ritual killing and cannibalism”
When asked how he carried out his
activities, he confessed “Whenever
I see somebody walking alone
without being conscious of who is
watching, I walk slowing up to
them and use a big ply wood to hit
them on their heads after which
they fall unconscious, I then drag
them into the hole and use a knife
to cut them into parts which I sell
to some churches and some ready
buyers who indulge in ritual killing
for easy money, and some times
when I feel hungry late in the
night, I eat some parts for food.
He confessed further that he sells
the parts as follows: Heads 7,500,
breast 1,500, p*****s 1000,
hands and legs for 3,500.
Amos who is a member of a
vigilante group in the area alerted
other members of the group and
palace guards of the Baale of
Ajara Topa community to the
movements of Joshua.
He told Crime Guard that at about
1 a.m on 21st of November, he
was on his normal routine watch
when he noticed him (Joshua)
crawling into the hole with a rice
bag, he quickly alerted other
members who confronted him
with a gun and ordered him to
drop and open what he was crying.
When he did, they discovered
rotten human parts; skulls, legs,
hands, breasts e.t.c.
Crime Guard visited the palace of
the Baale of Ajara Topa
community, Chief Samuel Amosu
Owolabi, who after confirming the
incident told Crime Guard that he
was sleeping in his palace when an
emergency call woke him with the
caller informing him that a man
had been arrested by members of
his palace guards in collaboration
with members of the vigilante
group with human parts.
Chief Samuel said he quickly called
Chief Patifo , Baale of Iyafin whom
his community shared the bridge
with to accompany him to the
scene. When he got there, he
noticed a mob had begun beating
the suspect and only stopped
after he begged them to let him
live so that proper investigations
will be carried out by the police.
Crime Guard confirmed the
suspect was in the custody of the
Badagry police division from a
police source who pleaded
anonymity.
