emillionaire:I am sorry but if it's not on the list it means it didn't make it to the top 50 Nigeria Newspapers Online in Alexa Ranking. The 50 sites under review represent the top 50 online news media in Nigeria based on Alexa ranking. Started in 1996, Alexa is the most popular traffic ranking service today. It tracks traffic statistics of websites and provides a numerical rank based on the data that they collect. This 50 comprises websites of traditional newspaper publishing companies i.e Punch Nigeria, online based news media i.e. Naij.com and authority blogs i.e Linda Ikeji blog. While I have used the Alexa ranking to sort out the websites, I did not use it as a metric for this ranking. ipain:Traditionally, search engine optimization (SEO) has been utilized to help businesses boost their search engine rankings by optimizing their website with relevant keywords. However, as internet searches are becoming more local in nature and more consumers are searching the web on mobile devices, local SEO is becoming a more important aspect of any digital marketing plan. Local SEO is crucial for connecting with the customers that are already in your service area that may be looking for products and services that your company provides. Tim Dugan published a research by Webservicesct.com on the importance of local SEO to businesses. The statistics shows that 97% of consumers search for businesses online. Below is an except of the research. I suggest you read the full article |
Google’s research into local search behavior reveals that local searchers are poised to take action. According to their findings, “50% of consumers who conducted a local search on their smartphone visited a store within a day, and 34% who searched on computer/tablet did the same.” This means ranking in local search has a direct impact on in-store traffic. The local search results – particularly Google’s – are tricky and filled with little mysteries. Neither I nor anyone else has them “figured out,” and probably never will. For one thing, they’re constantly changing. But what I can do is share what I’ve learned so far, about how a business can carve out some territory on the “Google local map.” Throughout the next 6 steps, I outlined some tips and tricks I have used throughout the past year to achieve top ranking within the search engines. Let it be clear that it isn’t magic, it does take time and great effort, but if you follow these clear guidelines you will instantly increase your odds of achieving a top ranking within the major search engines such as Yahoo, Google and MSN. Below are the six steps. Step 1: Lay The Foundation for Local SEO Step 2: Set Up or Sharpen Your Own Website for Local SEO Step 3 – Google+ Places – Setup / Optimization Step 4 – Work On Your Citation Step 5 – Get Review Step 6 – Stay Ahead of Others Read more at http://kampe.com.ng/blog/6-proven-local-seo-steps-to-rank-1-in-google-search/
