Mission2prosper:To each, his opinion! So, because my opinion isn't the same as yours, you foolishly concluded that I didn't watch the match, right? Continue! |
Iwobi, definitely. To all those who think Messi would have stopped Nigeria's 4 goals if he had played, I say: head is paining you. As if Argentina hasn't lost many matches that Messi played in! |
rapheeky:I hear you. |
quickly:Please just shut up! So, Messi would have stopped 4 goals? And what did Messi do in their friendly against Russia. Mind you, I'm a Messi fan, but I hate it when people think he can single-handedly do everything. |
LuvU2:I was going to say you probably were not born before 1998. But when I recalled that we still qualified for the second round in 2014, I just didn't know how to describe your silliness. But let me school you: Nigeria actually passed first stage in 1994, 1998 and 2014. |
Sapiosexuality:Yes, not everyone needs a thousand posts to get traffic. But chances are high that a blog with 1000 good-quality posts will generate more traffic than one with 200 posts. That said, let me now warn you: Don't go about looking for any trick or method that you think some people know and are not telling you. As far as traffic is concerned, there are no secrets as such. Here's how it works: Do your keyword research to figure out the exact kind of information people are searching the web for (that is related to your niche). Pull out as many such keywords as you can find. Then write posts optimized for each keyword. Keep doing that. It takes between 6-8 months for a well-written post to start fetching traffic automatically from search engines. Let's say you have one post ranking for its target keyword and starts attracting 50 visits per day. Having 50 of such articles will fetch you 2500 visits per day. That's simple maths. You can imagine what will happen when you have 300 such articles. That's how traffic grows over time. The strategy I explained above is called SEO (search engine optimization). You don't need to buy any premium tool to implement it. On my blog, all I use is the free version of the All-in-one SEO pack. Now, you can't expect me to float a full-blown tutorial on SEO here. If you're really keen about this blogging thing, you'll search the web for information on that topic and read as much as possible resources on it. And in no time, you'd have mastered it -- at least, the on-page part. As a blogger, you'll start failing the day you stop learning. I spend no less than 2-3 hours daily reading stuffs that help me keep abreast of latest trends in the blogosphere and the internet marketing world. And note that the world of blogging today has changed from what it used to be. First, if you really want to make money from blogging, you have to forget about passion -- unless you're ready to wait for 4 years or more. You have to choose a niche that people are actively reading about online. More importantly, you have to write articles on topics that people really want to know more about. And that's where keyword research and SEO comes in. Secondly, gone are the days when 500-word articles would do much to help you. These days, if you really want to rank well and pull search engine traffic, you have to target 1500-2000 words per article. And you have to post frequently. Everyday, if possible. Or at least 4 times a week. If you think all these are too difficult, then blogging might not be for you. I've not even mentioned that fact that you must be a good writer. If it takes you a whole day or longer to write a 500-word article, you won't go far as a blogger who wants to generate SEO traffic. Well, the good news is that SEO isn't the only way to boost traffic. But it's the best because your site generates traffic even if you abandon it for days. Even Linda Ikeji can't try that! There are times I won't publish a single article in 2 weeks (after I've paid my dues, of course), and my traffic won't drop a bit. Social media is another way to generate traffic. You need to build a massive followership on Facebook or Twitter, and then channel that traffic to your blog. But again, it's not as effective as SEO unless you've mastered the art of crafting catchy titles and posts that go viral always. |
Purchasing the premium plan would only give you a .com domain name. It won't remove the restrictions that come with that platform by default. So, your better bet is the self-hosted version of WordPress (Wordpress.org), which gives you absolute freedom and access to unlimited possibilities. |

Let's be a bit more practical. N20,000 = $53 (going by the rate banks presently charge for international transactions). If we assume that you'll be bidding on the lowest competition keywords ($0.02 per click), you can get up to 2,650 clicks. And that's just the maximum; chances are you won't be able to get up to that due to factors such as your niche and target country. Mind you, my estimation was based on the assumption that you're targeting Nigerians. If you're targeting users in developed countries (US, UK, etc), CPC could be as high as $1 or more. That means you won't get more than 100 clicks with that amount. In all, the best decision you can make right now is to keep your money. |
I looked at the picture from one angle, and I saw Jay-Jay Okocha and one of his fans. Then I looked at it from another angle, and I saw Wizkid and one of his fans. |
First it was "UNILAG is the only university in Nigeria with permanent accreditation for law". Next, it was "UNILAG becomes first Nigerian University to get a TV license". Now, it's the first Nigerian University to start testing students for use of hard drugs. Who else thinks UNILAG really deserves all the hype it gets? I'm not asking bloody haters. EDIT: To all quoting me to say UNILAG isn't the first with drug tests, I agree with you. You can now refute the first two feats I mentioned. Bloody haters! |
To start with, I'm a final year medical student. Yes, an average student can scale through medical school. The only part that is difficult for average students is getting admitted for medicine. That's usually a survival of the fittest thing. But does that mean only extraordinarily brilliant students get admitted to medicine in our country? No. Here in my school, many average or even academically poor students are admitted into medicine based on connections (supplementary list). And you know what? Most of these average students scale through med school without any problems. Or with few issues, such as resits. So far an average student is not lazy and can plan his/her time well, he/she will be fine. Even the so called very brilliant students do fail exams due to laziness and carelessness. |
ThisandThat247:Oil magnet? |
Papiikush:LOL! I'm trying to imagine how those who are guilty of aborti.on would be reading your post. |
PastorMB:So, you've now changed your story to "I called you out because you were gonna brag and leave", right? Did you forget that you stated clearly that the Adsense account isn't mine? You must be very stu.pid. So, now that you've seen proof, it's another story. Anyway, if you're blind to see for yourself, I already edited an earlier post on the thread to include some tips for increasing Adsense earnings. I didn't forget that you provided no evidence of your so-called earnings, but I don't need any from you. It's just so obvious that someone like you can infect me with your stu.pidity, and I won't even read your reply on this thread again let alone post another reply. Now, you can steer clear off my mentions. |
Decryptor:Like I said earlier, I made a 6-minute video of everything you requested, but because I couldn't figure a way to blur out vital information from it, I resorted to screenshots. For two hours, I downloaded different video editing software from movavi, to filmora to activepresenter. Interestingly, I just discovered all these tools this morning (over this same matter). Unfortunately, none of them could offer exactly what I wanted. So, I gave up on the videos thing. So, if seeing my video at all cost is what your life depends on, I'm sorry, but you'll have to lose it because I can't compromise vital information (the same reason you didn't use your Google account). |
You try. But you know what, I didn't watch that video and I won't. You see, I don't have trust issues. I only requested your proof because you first did the same. If anyone comes around to say he earns so and so amount, I just wish him well. And if he's obviously a liar, I usually ignore people like that. So, even if you told me that you earn $100,000 monthly, I would believe you unless I have a strong reason not to. I won't ask you to bring proof simply because I think those figures are too high. In as much as I'm nit buying from or dealing with you, I'll let you be. So, whatever you earn isn't my concern. What caused all these was that you doubted my claims. And I've provided the proof you requested. Peace up! |
Ubijus1:My brother, scroll up to the post in which I apologized for the many screenshots. I've edited that post to include tips for increasing Adsense earnings. |
Decryptor:I never knew hate can cause blindness. LOL! I actually uploaded the dashboard of the Adsense on my Google Account. Scroll up and open your eyes clearly this time. Then cry foul once again! |
Decryptor:Wait, I didn't even look closely at your screenshot earlier. Why are you showing me a screenshot of August 2016 when we are in November 2017? Didn't you see that my own screenshots were generated just this morning? And that's the stale, shitty screenshot that will "drown" me? You must be a joker! |
PastorMB:Again, you're not busier than I am. There's a lot more to my day that reading medicine! So, you can now go back to your work, bro. You're telling me not to see it as bragging? Did you not see a simple comment of mine that was borne out of experience as bragging? You people can be very funny. |
Decryptor:I didn't make noise. I contributed to motivate others. But you took the whole thread elsewhere, prompting me to provide evidence. Mind you: You've indirectly made some noise, too. ![]() |
PastorMB:Being busy ain't no excuse for using shitty strategies. I'm a medical student (final year), so you can't be busier than I am. Just so you know, I have no ebook on Google Adsense, and I will never write one on it because its not a straightforward topic. Or have I ever pictched you about one? |
SegunFreelance:Don't mind the fo.ol. I wonder what he would ask for if I show him screenshots of my Amazon Affiliate Earnings. He's comparing himself to me when all he does is to go about spamming Facebook groups for traffic, while search engines send me free traffic even in my sleep. Let even add a screenshot of my traffic sources: Majorly search engines and direct visits.
|
PastorMB: $600 my foot. Na soo...With your forum spamming strategy, right? |
Apologies to everyone who felt bored by the screenshots. I hate to do stuffs like this, but sometimes you need to go extra miles to prove the truth. For beginners who have been nursing the dream of earning big on Adsense, the first thing to bear in mind is ... TRAFFIC. There are really no magic tricks anywhere. And there are no shortcuts. Without massive traffic, you can't earn via Adsense. From my experience, one can cannot start earning decently from Google Adsense until his/her blog starts generating about 2000 daily visits. So, if you're still far from that milestone, you need to work on your traffic and bother less about Adsense for now. HOW TO INCREASE YOUR ADSENSE EARNINGS Now, I want to share with you some of the strategies I've used to increase my Adsense earnings consistently and some things I've learned since I started monetizing with Adsense: First, traffic matters most. I just can emphasize this enough. Without decent amount of traffic, you won't earn decent income from Adsense. If your blog hasn't started generating up to 2000 daily unique visits, this is the only tip you need right now. Because without massive traffic, other tips here won't work. Second, keep testing different ad placement formats until you get the one that attracts clicks the most. There's no format set in the stone, so you have to keep tweaking to see what works best for your blog. However, be careful not to place too many ads above the fold. Adsense hates this! Third, link ads rock! I've observed that many Nigerian bloggers put up only banner ad units and ignore text link ad units. Truth is, text link ad units are usually more in line with your content, so they tend to attract lots of clicks. If you've not been using them, you're losing money! Fourth, increase your page views. The more page views you have, the higher the number of ad clicks you'll generate. Why? Because more page views mean visitors stay on your blog to read multiple pages before leaving. In addition, the more your page views, the lower your clickthrough rate. And the lower your clickthrough rate, the safer you are (because Google Adsense bans accounts with exceptionally high CTR). To increase your page views, use "Related Posts" and "Popular Posts" plugins or widgets. Fifth, wide ad units attract most clicks. I've observed that the leaderboard that most bloggers place in their blog headers and the skyscraper usually placed in the sidebar don't really attract attention. Why? Because visitors are usually focused on the content area, not the header or sidebar. So, ad units embedded within content attract most clicks. Sixth, always monitor your Adsense dashboard. When necessary, it gives you hints on what to do to increase your earnings. Also, it sends you warning signals when some things are goung wrong. Seventh, monitor your traffic with Google Analytics, not the Blogger Dashboard traffic stats. As for the traffic stats on Blogger dashboard, it gives exaggerated traffic reports because it counts visits from bots and search engine spiders as part of your traffic. However, Google Analytics tracks only real human traffic. Why should you monitor your Analytics stats. Let me share this with you: last week, I noticed that my clickthrough rate was getting higher, and I couldn't explain why. I then noticed that the number of page views has reduced. With the help of Google Analytics, I was able to find out the exact date the problem started. And I was able to find the cause of the problem (one silly plugin was making the blog show blank on opera mini, which increased the bounce rate and reduced the number of page views). I quickly deleted the plugin, and things went back to normal. Eighth, search engine traffic generates most clicks. Why because SEO brings fresh visitors, not repeat visitors who are already "blind" to your ads. Ninth, if Google Matched content has been activated for your Adsense account, try to place it under your posts. That tool boosts page views like crazy. So, if you have any questions regarding this post or something to add, leave a comment and let's learn from each other. |
PastorMB:I'm glad you eventually believed. Can we now see your own screenshots? And let's see who's been blowing smoke? |
Finally, here's the Google Analytics for the site. I've uploaded this because one slowpoke couldn't just comprehend that a Nigerian blog can generate so much traffic...
|
Here's the dasboard of the site once again. For those who want to know more about the site, it's targeted at Nigerians. Opened in 2014. Presently has 1,574 posts and over 14,000 comments (see the screenshot). NOTE: The site didn't start earning from Adsense until November 2015. That's after one and half years! So, don't think success will come fast.
|
Before someone claims that I can only make that much from multiple sites... Yes, I have Adsense on other sites, but only this one site is making all the money. See the shot...
|
Just before somebody says I copied the screenshot from elsewhere...
