There was so much excitement over the weekend at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos as more than 4,000 children and their parents attended Nickelodeon’s NickFest. The event, which was made possible courtesy of popular family entertainment TV channel, Nickelodeon, saw the venue transformed into a massive kiddies’ wonderland with amazing toys, fun games, and loads of sparkling bright colors.
The hosts for the day, radio and TV personality, Ik and child-comedienne, Emmanuella kept the mood alive with their effervescent presence.
The fun celebrity Slime challenge, a favourite section at the festival which saw MTV Base’ Samantha Walsh and Ehiz get drenched with the gooey green Slime. They sure didn’t take it as well as the younger ones who loved prancing around in the gooey green liquid pool.
The highlight of the festival, especially for children came in the form of the arrival of the incredible Nickelodeon character shows, Shimmer and Shine, SpongeBob SquarePants, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Paw Patrol, who entertained both children and parents with their amazing performances.
The excitement continued as festival attendees enjoyed the presence of two of their favourite celebrities, Simi and Yemi Alade who had the entire hall, including parents and guardians, screaming in excitement as they performed their selection of family-friendly songs.
The beautiful Yemi Alade, illbliss, Chioma Akpotha, Mr P, IK Osakioduwa, Emmanuella of Mark angel comedy, Alex Okosi and his son, AJ also got Slimed, to the delight of the children and everyone else present. In all, it was a day well-enjoyed.

In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the actor stated that his sternness on movie location is for a reason .
He said , “If you are disciplined and you don't put romance with women first as an actor, you would go far . If you believe that as an actor, you don't need women all around you, then you would remain relevant because you would concentrate on your craft . I directed ‘SuperStory' for about 10 years but no woman entered my room in the camp. You can ask Wale Adenuga himself. There were amorous advances from women but I shunned them. I am feared while on set.
As a lady , you cannot see me and have the courage to approach me with your amorous advances. People would even tell you not to try it with me; they would advise the ladies not to wink at me because I would just slap them. NaijaCelebrity: The police have paraded Burnaboy's manager alongside the other men allegedly involved in robbing Mr 2Kay at Eko Hotels. Burna Boy is also wanted for his alleged involvement in the attack.
Acting Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal yesterday said investigations conducted and confessions from some of the suspects arrested showed that Burna Boy contracted them to teach 2Kay a lesson.
Abiye was attacked by four armed men inside his room 847, at Eko Hotels, Victoria Island on October 22. The singer, who was beaten and tied up by the armed men, allegedly lost his Audemais Piquet (AP), automatic gold wristwatch worth $25,000, gold jewellery valued at N1.5million, mobile phones, a pair of Adidas shoes, cash and perfumes to the thieves who posed as hotel workers.
The suspects are Balogun Ademola, 23, Obinna Igwe, 20 and Omotore Tunmise, 27.
Ademola and Igwe are said to be students of the University of Lagos. Tunmise is an artisan.
“The gang confessed that Burna Boy, through his road manager, Joel Kantiock, paid them to rob Abiye, according to them, to teach the victim a lesson. Kantiock confessed that his boss Ogiulu instructed him to look for armed men that can rob Abiye to teach him a lesson. He mobilised the gang with an initial cash sum of N50,000 and a subsequent N50,000 when the job was completed.” Kantiock however, denied knowing any of the suspects. But the gang leader, Omotore, said Kantiock invited him to deal with Mr. 2Kay on the orders of his boss.
He said,
“Kantiock called me on the telephone and said Mr. 2Kay had to be beaten up. He said Mr. 2Kay had issues with Burna Boy. On getting to the hotel, he gave me the room number where Mr. 2Kay was. He led me and three others, including one Sunny, to the elevator and told a security man to open the elevator for us. We posed as room service officials, entered his room and beat him up. We tied him up and collected his phones, a wristwatch and some other things. I was paid N50,000.” According to Igwe:
“Omotore contacted me. He said Burna Boy told his road manager that he was having a misunderstanding with Mr. 2Kay.”
