This is very detailed and interactive about the tax reforms committee
Politics / Ten Frequently Asked Questions About Presidential Fiscal Policy And Tax Reforms by wehla(m): 1:15pm On Sep 13, 2023
We have curated the 10 most frequently asked questions about the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee. I am glad to say that we are making progress with our work and on track to meet our deliverables on time according to plan.

Q1 - What exactly is the Presidential Fiscal Policy & Tax Reforms Committee set up to do?

A1 - The committee was set up by President Bola Tinubu to review and redesign Nigeria’s fiscal system with respect to (1) revenue mobilisation, both tax and non-tax (2) quality of government spending and (3) sustainable debt management. In addition, the committee will identify relevant measures to make Nigeria an attractive destination for investment and facilitate inclusive economic growth.

Q2 - What is the timeframe for the committee’s assignment?

A2 - The work of the committee is expected to be completed within one year divided into 3 milestones (1) Quick Wins within 30 days focusing on urgent interventions to cushion the effect of current socio-economic challenges (2) Critical Reforms within 6 months including measures to address multiplicity of taxes, simplify the tax laws, ensure policy coordination, drive accountability and transparent reporting (3) Implementation of structural revenue reform measures and critical fiscal policy changes.

Q3 - Is the committee’s mandate limited to only the federal government?

A3 - No. The committee will work with all levels of government as critical stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration in the design and implementation of necessary fiscal policy changes and localisation of reforms at the subnational level as may be applicable.

Q4 - Who are the members of the committee and what was the basis for their selection?

A4 - Members of the committee are drawn from a diverse pool of eminently qualified Nigerians across all geopolitical zones, age brackets, religion, and gender. They represent the private sector including trade associations, small businesses, civil society, and professional bodies as well as public sector institutions at federal, states and local government levels.

Q5 - How can the public contribute to the work of the committee?

A5 - The committee will open channels of communication and platforms for submission of inputs by the end of September 2023. In addition, we have outlined various stakeholder engagement sessions with Nigerians from all walks of life including people living with disabilities, artisans, Nigerians in the diaspora, multinational companies, international investment community and so on. Everyone who has something to say will be heard.

Q6 - Should we expect more taxes and frequent changes to the tax laws?

A6 - We do not intend to introduce new taxes or impose higher tax rates. Rather, our mandate is to reduce the number of taxes and levies while harmonising revenue collection to reduce the burden on the people and businesses. The objective is to avoid taxing investment, capital, production or poverty. We plan to review and re-enact the major tax laws in a holistic manner thereby limiting the necessity for frequent changes through annual finance acts.

Q7 - How does the committee intend to achieve a tax to GDP ratio of 18% within the next 3 years?

A7 - The average tax to GDP ratio for Africa excluding Nigeria is about 18%. This is the basis for the target of 18% and the estimated tax gap of N20 trillion. There is a huge opportunity to generate revenue by leveraging technology and tax intelligence to close the tax gap. In addition, we will rationalize incentives, reduce the cost of collection, and optimise revenue from government assets and natural resources. This way we can generate more revenue without introducing new taxes.

Q8 - Is it true that agencies with revenue collection functions will be stopped from collecting revenues and merged with the FIRS?

A8 - No agency has been stopped from collecting revenue as many of them are empowered to do so by law. However, many of the agencies would rather focus on their primary functions hence we intend to harmonise the fragmented revenue collection functions into one agency for each government. This is the case in many countries including the leading tax regimes in Africa. This reform will help to improve efficiency and enable the agencies to focus on their primary mandates for the overall benefit of the economy.

Q9 - Can we trust the government to implement the committee’s recommendations or is this just another committee?

A9 - The committee was set up not just to advise the government but also to support the implementation of recommended reform measures. The committee’s assignment is being carried out to the highest degree of independence driven by national interest within the context of modern-day economic realities and emerging issues within the international community.

Q10 - How can we stay informed with the activities of the committee?

A10 - Members of the public and other stakeholders can follow our activities on social media, fiscalreformsng on X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and via our YouTube channel. We will provide regular updates via our dedicated website and press releases. You can also reach us via email at enquiries@fiscalreforms.ng or via WhatsApp chat on +234 810 975 3151.

NIGER COUP: BAD FOR FULANI AND GOOD FOR HAUSA

7th August 2023

THE COUP D'ETAT IN NIGER REPUBLIC IS A SAVING GRACE TO NIGERIA: A REVELATION BY THE NATIVE INDIGENOUS HAUSA PEOPLE OF NIGERIA.

We as Hausa People of Hausaland in Nigeria love Democracy but only to the extent it administers Justice, Fairness and Equity to all people wherever it is practiced.
Recall that the eight years of Nigeria's democratic rule under former President Muhammadu Buhari was an unmitigated disaster to us as Natives of Hausaland and Nigerians in general. Under him Security, Economy, and Corruption withnessed the worst ever deteriotion in the history of Nigeria if not the entire world.
Just because Buhari as a Fulani man was in power, the Fulani people had the free latitude to acquire arms and ammunitions, and flaunt them in public glare without consequences, rather the government made excuses for them and justified their bearing of arms and killing of Nigerians regardless of tribe or religion, but land grabbing for the Fulani, and their self arrogated freedom to commit Rape, Murder, Barbarism, Imposition of Cannibalism on Hausa people, and Burning of Hausa people Alive. All these evil vices under Buhari represented the Fulani's concept of Democracy.
Also recall Buhari/APC's propaganda against former President Goodluck Jonathan/PDP that they were the sponsors of Boko Haram and therefore had no capacity to tackle insecurity and economic problems of Nigeria. Not only did Buhari woefully failed in the areas of security and economy, he added to Boko Haram: Fulani Hersdmen and Miyetti Allah in the terror agenda of his government.
Buhari as a known friend to the ousted President of Niger Republic Mohamed Bazoum was sponsor of the later's presidential project using the funds and resources of the Nigerian government.
The interest of the Nigerian Fulani in the government of Niger Republic particularly the ousted President Bazoum lies in their plans to merge the Niger Republic and Northern part of Nigeria to form Fulani Colony and thereafter, mobilize Fulani from all over Africa to militarily take over Nigeria to complete the Fulanization and Colonization of Nigeria.
Also recall that Buhari hastily constructed Railway lines to Niger Republic and signed contracts to build refinery in Katsina and Niger Republic to supply the crude oil. Buhari also granted free visa entry to Nigeria for all Africans.
These are mere war strategies and logistics for the Fulani's Planned war against Nigeria. The railways will provide free transportation for their procured militias across Africa while the refinery will guarantee them steady supply of fuels for transportation of their warriors and logistics through the Republic of Niger into Nigeria. Buhari had hinted to relocate to Niger as his retirement home because of his faith in success of the agenda. The Fulani clerics are now all over media spaces in condemnation of the Nigerien Coup but the same Clerics saw nothing wrong in the earlier coups in Mali and Burkina Faso, because Niger Republic is central to their Colonization Agenda over Nigeria.
This Nigerien Coup D'etat that represent a nightmare to Buhari, Sultan Sa'ad Abubakar and their fellow Fulani people, has put a wedge into their age long plans and dreams to takeover and own Nigeria as the Usman Danfodiyo's Fulani Family Heritage. Their entire evil plans are foiled by the Coup.
These are facts the National Security Adviser to Present Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Nuhu Ribadu as a Fulani Man) will never permit the President to know.
Therefore, any effort to restore Mohamed Bazoum to power will shoot Nigeria on her feet.
THIS NIGERIEN COUP D'ETAT IS THE SAVING GRACE TO NIGERIA.

Kalthoum Alumbe Jutami (For and on behalf of The Native Indigenous Hausa People Emancipator).

What Queen Elizabeth II’s Death Exposes About Biafra

First published in my column, #TheAlternative, in today’s ThisDay.

When on Thursday, September 8, 2022, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II passed on into ancestor-hood, I was not particularly moved. I like England. I schooled and worked there and those years were some of the best of my life. The English people are by far some of the most decent peoples on planet Earth.

However, I am rather indifferent about their monarch. I did not like or dislike Queen Elizabeth II. The only thing I can think of that I admire in her is her stoicism. Her ability to take pain and pleasure with equanimity. She is the epitome of duty and a stiff upper lip.

But I doubt that I bothered much about her and her goings on. I was just aloof.

So, while I was not one of those mourning, it was not because I had some grudge against the House of Windsor. No. It is just that the House of Ginuwa (the first Olu of Warri), mattered more to me than Buckingham Palace.

The above not withstanding, I was absolutely mortified by the hideous and historically inaccurate things that were said about the Queen and her family by a Nigerian woman living in America, whose name I will not dignify by mentioning.

I later got to find out that this woman has other issues, which made me understand her bitterness better, though I still vehemently reject her indecorous words.

She was one of the people who famously celebrated the death of TB Joshua and called him all sorts of unprintable names when he died. So it is no big surprise that she has turned her vitriol in the direction of the late Queen.

And so now, let me tackle what the death of Queen Elizabeth II reveals about Biafra. It shows us as a people not aware of our history, and because we are not aware of our own history, we have distorted it, such that propaganda and pseudo history has been orally passed down from one generation to the other, feeding unfounded bitterness that is destroying those who harbour it, and having no effect on those against whom they are embittered.

That is why some people believe they were just sitting down minding their business and Hausa people came to fight them (all Northerners are Hausa to some people) because they hate them. There was absolutely no provocation, or igniting events that preceded the Nigerian Civil War. Hausa people just woke up on the wrong side of the bed and for some strange reason decided to pounce on the people of Eastern Nigeria.

But of course, that is not what happened. However, because we do not write our history, and even worse, we have refused to teach it in our schools, there are millions of people who believe this version of events. In fact, they swear by it.

One fellow named Uche Nnaya even tweeted at me that the Igbos of Southeast Nigeria had a right to rail against the British monarch and the rest of Nigeria, because “you can’t push people to the wall and dictate how they react.”

Really? But do those who hold such views not know that some other persons were FIRST pushed to the wall? Uche’s response will also justify how those who were first pushed to the wall reacted.

We cannot keep holding grudges as if other people do not have their own grudges that they have let go for the peace and unity of this country called Nigeria.

My great uncle, Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh, was shot and killed in the street by Major Chris Anuforo on January 15, 1966. Ironically, I went to school with Anuforo’s son. Should my people carry that grudge forever?

Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was shot on the street like a common criminal by Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna. Ifeajuna tried to deny it, and claimed that Alhaji Balewa died from an asthma attack, until his body was taken to LUTH and examined by the then minister for health, Dr. Moses Majekodunmi. It was established that the body was riddled with bullets in a front page story in Daily Times, written by Segun Osoba, who later became the Governor of Ogun. He is still alive.

This was an incorruptible gentleman. He lived a very ascetic life. Materialism was FAR from him. He was an author. His book, Shaihu Umar, was the first novel written in Hausa. He surrounded himself with Southerners (in hindsight, was that a mistake?). His best friend was Matthew Mbu. Should the Tafawa-Balewa family and the people of Bauchi, where he was from, hold a grudge forever?

I could go on and on and list the people killed on January 15, 1966, and the identities of their killers, but that would just be reopening old wounds. These are historical facts, which some people deny and pretend as if the Civil War happened in a vacuum.

So, please let us stop pretending as if the late Queen Elizabeth II came to Nigeria and ignited a war. The Nigerian Civil War was ignited by a series of unfortunate events that began with the cold blooded murder of 22 people from the Northern, Western, and Mid Western regions by people of mostly Eastern region origin, which led to a counter coup by Northern Nigerian military officers on July 29, 1966, and the unfortunate pogrom of 66-67.

Many people now spewing vitriol against the late Queen Elizabeth II for her alleged role in the Nigerian Civil War conveniently forget that between August 9, 1967 and September 20, 1967, Biafran forces invaded and occupied the Midwest region, and named Albert Nwazu Okonkwo, as military Governor of the Midwest. A number of non Igbo speaking Mid-Westerners lost their lives during the Biafran occupation of the Midwest.

After the Midwest was liberated by forces led by colonels Murtala Muhammed and Benjamin Adekunle, more Mid-Westerners, this time those linguistically linked to the Igbo (especially in the Asaba axis), were killed. Please research it before you insult me.

I need to add that the killings by the liberating forces were worse than the killings of the Biafrans, and should truly have been declared war crimes.

Yet, in that same Midwest, we accepted Nigerians of Southeast origin back after the war. We did not seize their properties in the abandoned property saga that occurred in the Port Harcourt area and its environs. We let bygones be bygones.

The truth of the matter is that If the January 15, 1966 coup had never happened, it is most unlikely that the Nigerian Civil War would have occurred. The perpetrators of that coup opened a Pandora’s Box that the rest of Nigeria are still suffering from today!

There was wild jubilation all over Nigeria after that coup, because Nigerians believed it was a patriotic and nationalistic coup. Then the names of those killed were announced over the radio, and it was discovered that only people from the North, West and Midwest were killed, but NOBODY from the East was killed, whereas the vast majority of those who carried out the coup were from the East.

That is the remote cause of the Nigerian Civil War. We will remember it. We will also teach it to our children, so that it does not reoccur.

So, to just keep nursing grudges and reopening old wounds will do no one any good. You can bully others into submission, but you cannot do it to Reno Omokri. I know history and I am a meticulous record keeper!

It is only those who are ignorant about how the British government works that will blame the late Queen for the actions of the British government. She was a titular and ceremonial head of state, whose actions were limited to appointing the candidate who has won election directly or indirectly as prime minister, and declaring open the parliament. She was a symbol. She was not the initiator of the policies of the British government.

And even the British government are not to blame for the Nigerian Civil War. We must learn to take responsibility for our own actions. That war was the result of the ill advised January 15, 1966 coup.

The coup itself was led by Majors Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu and Ifeajuna. It was executed by the following persons:

1. Kaduna Nzeogwu
2. Emmanuel Ifeajuna
3. Timothy Onwuatuegwu
4. Adewale Ademoyega
5. Chris Anuforo
6. Humphrey Chukwuka
7. Donatus Okafor

Of these seven people, only one, Adewale Ademoyega, was non Igbo. The rest were all Igbo, although Major Nzeogwu was what was referred to at that time as Midwest Igbo (later colloquially referred to as Bendel Igbo and now as Delta Igbo). Major Donatus Okafor’s mother was Tiv. However, his father was Igbo.

Incidentally, some Igbos unwisely try to deny that Nzeogwu was Igbo, and call him ‘your South-South’ brother. Unknown to them, the more they do this, the more they make non Igbos feel that those specific Igbos who say that have learned very little since the civil war.

22 people were killed during the coup, including

1. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa
2. Ahmadu Bello
3. Ahmed Ben Musa
4. Hafsatu Bello
5. Ahmed Pategi
6. Samuel Ladoke Akintola
7. Festus Okotie-Eboh
8. Brig. Samuel Ademulegun
9. Brig. Zakariya Maimalari
10. Col. Ralph Shodeinde
11. Col. Kur Mohammed
12. Lt. Col. Abogo Largema
13. Lt. Col. James Pam
14. Lt. Col. Arthur Unegbe
15. Sergeant Daramola Oyegoke
16. Mrs Latifat Ademulegun
17. Zarumi Sardauna
18. PC Yohana Garkawa
19. Lance Corporal Musa Nimzo
20. PC Akpan Anduka
21. PC Hagai Lai
22. Philip Lewande

As is clear from the list above, none of them were from the then Eastern Nigeria. . (I have since learned that Lt. Col. Arthur Unegbe was Igbo. He was in charge of weaponry in Lagos, and was killed when he refused to cooperate with Major Chris Anuforo).

After the coup, Major General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi took over. Rightly, or wrongly, the rest of the nation felt that a coup carried out by overwhelmingly Eastern officers, and of which the victims were entirely non Easterners, and which supplanted a Northern minority leader (Tafawa-Balewa), with an Igbo leader, (Aguiyi-Ironsi) was a set up.

However, Major General Aguiyi-Ironsi’s promise to try the coup plotters placated the rest of the country. Sadly, the plotters were jailed, but were never tried. And the immediate cause of the July 29, 1966 counter coup was when rumours circulated that the coup plotters had been receiving full salaries in jail and were to be promoted.

These are facts that we all should address, rather than blaming the late Queen Elizabeth II for a war she did not cause, nor had anyway of stopping. And if we do not learn from our history, there is every possibility that another war might erupt in Nigeria.

The Biafrans inflicted a very harsh occupation on present day Rivers, Cross Rivers and Akwa-Ibom, as well as present day Delta and Edo before they were flushed out by federal forces. The Bayelsa area escaped the brunt of Biafran occupation due to the fight back from Isaac Adaka Boro. They invaded Ore and hundreds of soldiers and civilians died. There is still a Yoruba proverb about the amount of people that died in Ore. Ask a Yoruba person to tell you the meaning of ‘o le ku ija Ore.

We have all forgiven and moved on. Yet, you want to reopen these old wounds and make them cancerous by blaming Queen Elizabeth II 50 years after the war?

And when you point this out, the very same people castigating the late Queen will accuse you of creating ethnic tension? Do you want to be victims and victors at the same time? Leave the woman and her family to grieve in peace. By celebrating the Queen’s death, you are giving Nigeria a very nasty reputation that will affect all of us and not only you. We cannot afford to be seen as a nation with anti British and American sentiments, when we are not able to get a better deal from China and Russia.

Politics / APC Choice: Ogbonaiya Onu by wehla(m): 2:55pm On Mar 30, 2022
Copied.
APC is done with her National convention and it was very successful. The enemies of the party has been put to shame. Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the former governor of Nasarawa State was pronounced as our national chairman using consensus method.

I made a post over here on facebook on February 24th, where I listed the expectations of the public as APC convention gathered momentum then. In the said post I stated thus;
1. APC's National convention won't be postponed again. The new date is definitive.

2. The incoming national chairman of APC will come from North-Central. Precisely a current senator and former governor a state that shares boundaries with Abuja.

3. The new national chairman will be elected using "Consensus method", the new chairman is expected to apply Consensus method too in electing our party's presidential candidate. This is firstly aimed at producing in a problem-free candidate and anointed choice of Mr. President too. Secondly is to minimize the plans of the enemies of APC from actualizing their dreams of disintegration of APC.

4. The incoming President of Nigeria come 2023, will come from South-East geopolitical zone. The anointed man is one of the arrow heads that formed APC. The person belongs to the old ANPP Block, one of the blocks that formed APC.

5. The incoming Vice President of Nigeria come 2023, will come from North-East geopolitical zone. The person belongs to the old CPC Block, one of the major blocks that formed APC too."'

I made other predictions but I won't go into it for want of time. You can revisit the said post again.
The above predictions from numbers 1 to 3 have come to reality. While we await for numbers 4 & 5.

Let me repeat this, if you are not close to His Excellency, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the current minister for Science, Technology and Innovations. Please find your way to him or his political family, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu is going to fly APC's Presidential ticket come 2023. It may be sounding like a moon light tale but this is actually the reality. Those of us who are real APC members and are privileged to be close to the inner system of the party and her happenstances should be able to tell this better.

The political activities around Dr Ogbonnaya Onu in the last two days after the convention is a convincing fact that the deal is done and the die is cast. Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu is Buhari's Choice. Afternoon of Yesterday, the Chief of Staff to Mr President, Prof, Ibrahim Gambari hosted him in his residence Inside presidential villa. The two men had a closed door meeting which lasted for 2 hours. Your guess about the reason for the meeting is as good as mine. Just this morning as early as 5 am. The secretary to goverment of federation, Boss Mustpha in company of Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasiru El-rufai visited Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu at the minister's Asokoro residence. What are Boss and El-rufai coming at such time of the day for? I don't know. We have pictures but we won't publish it. The political space is very slippery at the moment.

The newly elected national chairman of APC himself can testify the role Onu played to ensure he emerged, Onu's group wanted senator Tanko Al-macura but Onu himself insisted he wanted Senator Adamu Abuduallahi even before Mr. President endorsed him. Who knows what he saw in Senator Adamu?

The man APC made the National Deputy Chairman, (South), Chief Emma Enukwu from Enugu State is Onu's Loyalist. All the past and present political positions Chief Emma Enukwu have occupied in Life was facilitated by His Excellency, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu. Make research about this. The position of Deputy National Chairman of APC, (South) was initially billed to be given to Senator Ken Nnamani, but about two weeks before convention, Chief Nnamani began to play a hide and seek kind of game, immediately Onu signaled Gov. Hope Uzodinma to inform him of his displeasure and Chief Nnamani was waved bye bye of his position.
His Excellency, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu is not a noise maker, he has paid his dues as far as Nigeria and APC is concerned.

His Excellency Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu will be declaring for President by the second week of April.

Any Church Owned By An Individual Is Not The Church of Christ — Rev. Oluoma

A man of God has made it clear that any church owned by an individual is not a true church of God.

Reverend Father Oluoma made the declaration in one of his sermons. The man of God warned people not to be deceived.

He added that if such a church is transferred from father to wife, children or relatives, such a church is not from God.

Business / Is It Possible Legally To Change Your Company's And All Other Remain Intact? by wehla(m): 5:37pm On Dec 15, 2021
Hello guys especially those with legal background. I want to change my company's name to another. It's a Sole Proprietorship and been operating for over five years, due to my branching into full IT stuff and logistics, I want a name change. I asked someone earlier and he said it's not possible that I have to go and registered a new name entirely but I don't want to go through that rigorous stress again. So, I'm asking how possible to change only the name of the company and all other things remain intact especially bank account. Kindly advice, thanks.
Politics / Igbos Are Not Marginalised by wehla(m): 5:05pm On Oct 27, 2021
True facts and a short history

Response to Igbo Marginalisation

Someone keeps mentioning that Igbo were marginalized in Nigeria.

I was provoked to respond to him this morning. Here we go:

I want anybody with iota of sincerity to nullify my points one by one:

1. In 1959 to 63 Igbo NCNC preferred to team with Hausa NPC to form government then no marginalization

2. In 1979 Igbo preferred Hausa NPN to Yoruba UPN and they preferred it to their NPP owned by Zik to form national government, then no marginalization

3. In 1993 the Igbo preferred NRC of Hausa to SDP then no marginalization

4. In 1999 Igbo preferred Hausa PDP to AD of Yoruba to form national government, then no marginalization

5. All along Igbo and Hausa had always been the main national government then no marginalization

6. Yoruba had never been in the national party since independence yet Yoruba didn't complain of marginalisation but rather maintain their regional party because Yoruba don't feel inferior neither play victim card.

7. This is the first time Yoruba party will be at the federal and Igbo that had been with federal party are crying marginalisation.

It's a pity that assumed educated persons cannot reason to know these facts.

8. Yoruba formed political party and stay with it. From Action Group AG to UPN to AD to AC to ACN to APC and Yoruba didn't merge with Hausa party.

Hausa formed NPC to become NPN to NRC to PDP. Igbo formed NCNC to merge with NPN to reemerge as NPP and faction to APGA to merge with PDP

9. Igbo formed NCNC but merged with NPC of Hausa NPC in 1966, formed NPP by Zik but merged with NPN formed APGA but merged with NRC formed APGA but merged with PDP. Last election some Igbo wore APGA vests and campaign for PDP then no marginalization

10. Under Jonathan no Yoruba among the first 17 posts in Nigeria from DSS to aviation to finance to CBN to Maritime to defense then there was no marginalization

11. You voted for Jonathan we voted for Buhari, you overwhelmingly voted for Atiku we voted for Buhari. Suddenly some bastards are calling Yoruba Fulani slaves as if Atiku is from another planet.

12. You collect allocation from federal government, you have governors, you have senators, you have reps and chairmen all collecting money from federal purse, you have ambassadors etc yet you are marginalized

13. You are appointed to political posts in southwest but no single person from Yoruba in your cabinet in all the five Igbo states yet you were marginalized

14. 90% of your assets are on another man's soil yet you were marginalized

15. Yoruba choose Tinubu as their political leader you said your culture doesn't permit leadership yet you abuse Tinubu daily that he enslaved Yoruba because you want Yoruba to jettison their culture of leadership like you as you don't recognize leaders. Is that the healing balm of your marginalisation?

15. Tinubu never worked with Federal government talk less of stealing what belongs to Igbo states, why are you people receiving remote pain from Yoruba who didn't complain of Tinubu enslavement?

16. You are threatening to go and nobody stops your from going to Biafra. Lucky you, almost all long distance plying vehicles are owned by Igbo. Why don't you go home for Christmas and refuse to come back and see how Nigerians will suffer

17. You prefer to attack APC and Tinubu for all problems from Igbo but never talked that same allocations your governors collect is what other states collect and query how they use it.

18. Almost all Igbo elites and politicians have houses in southwest but never ask why same doesn't apply to Yoruba and Hausa to invest in your lands.

19. Kanu was threatening to kill all Yoruba and Hausa calling Buhari a rapist and all other sickening names you didn't caution him but when arrested you cry to hell.

20. You are paying tax to Kanu to buy arms but during Covid 19 crisis you are looking unto same Buhari. How senseless?

21. Kanu himself is using Nigerian passport, spending Nigeria currency but selling Biafra passport for you.

22. He didn't raise funds to address the underdevelopment you cry of but raising funds to buy arms. To fight? Who didn't say he should not go to his town?

23. You labor for PDP but wanted APC to feature your candidate for presidency. How can someone work in First Bank and collect salary in GTB?

24. IPOB keeps attacking ugovernment at the same time you are demanding presidential ticket.
It's a pity, my people perish for lack of acknowledge

Religion / Why Only Jehovah's Witnesses Not Emphasize Tithing by wehla(m): 6:53am On Sep 19, 2021
The Jehovah's witnesses seems to be the only christian denomination not putting emphasis on tithe which has dominated the theme of most churches. From the Bible, tithing is not one of the criteria to make everlasting life and enjoy God's favour

Education / Lagos State Govt Peg Entry Age Into At 12 Year by wehla(m): 4:06pm On Sep 13, 2021
Lagos pegs entry age for secondary school at 12

The Lagos State Government has pegged entry age into both public and private secondary schools in the state at 12 years beginning from the next academic session.

The state government said it took the decision to check the influx of under aged children into junior secondary school one (JSS1)

According to the state government, a first time offender will be fined N50.000 while a second time offender would pay N100,000 with a warning letter to close the school in case of a further violation.

In a circular to Concerned Parents, dated March 17th, 2020, the state government said the new policy will be enforced in public and private schools to enhance compliance in the 2021 academic session.

Signed by Mrs. A.A. Adebowale on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, the circular acknowledged the several disadvantages embedded in the admission of under-aged children into junior secondary schools.

According to Adebowale, based on the stand of the State Policy on Education, the commissioner for education has directed that the admission of children into either public or private junior secondary schools be pegged at 12 years and this would be strictly enforced by agencies of education in the state.

The circular also stressed the need for sensitisation and advocacy drive by both registered and non-registered associations of private schools, parents forum, and other related educational bodies through mass media, filers, market place campaign, mosques, churches and town hall meetings.

The circular also disclosed that a meeting involving presidents and secretaries of private school associations would be organised by the ministry to enable the education commissioner to solicit their cooperation for the enforcement of the policy.

The curriculum department and office of quality assurance according to the memo were mandated to monitor compliance by schools, adding ” there should be sanctions for any schools that register under-aged pupils to both primary and public secondary schools.”

The new policy emphasised that examinations board and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) would ensure that under-aged pupils are neither allowed registration nor participation in placement test into JSS 1 and model college screening.

”Screening exercise for the transition from primary school to junior secondary school should be strictly adhered to as stated in section 3, sub-section 61, page 22 of Lagos State policy on education”, the circular said.
