Hello duchess90, justwise. Thanks for all you do here. I applied for Coventry University and got a conditional offer. After the deposit I was given access to the CAS Shield to submit by documents. I submitted my bank statement but it was rejected as according to them it had expired and I would need a new one.

This is already July 27 and I am working towards the September intake, what are the chances to still leave by September if I upload my new bank statement which will mature in 28 days - August 24th. With the school already saying their CAS deadline is August 14th

Why can't I get the CAS and now bother about the bank statement for my visa application?

A response would be appreciated

How did your SOA expire? Was it an arrangee SOA? If it is, then you should be happy the school didn't withdraw your admission which means your deposit won't have been returned

This 2023 japa move is more draining than normal but thank God it’s worth it! I pray that we all testify to the glory of God soonest. Please, it’s not as difficult as we think, just ensure you follow due process. I have been following this Japa trend here since January 2022.(last year)

Congratulations. in regards to the change of name affidavit, does all your documents still carry your dad's name or your own name?

Secondly, can one do change of name without a Registry marriage certificate?

How does UKVI confirm bank statements when they contact the bank?
Do they request the bank to send a new statement so they compare with the uploaded one or they send the uploaded bank statement to the bank and tell them to confirm if it indeed it emanates from the bank.
Just curious to know.

Pls, just leave your money in the account. How they contact the bank shouldn't be a problem to you so far the SOA is genuine and the money is still in the bank.

On POF account: Surname middlename firstname
On my documents: Surname firstname middlename.

Hope the name arrangement won't affect my VISA application

Pls go to the bank and rearrange it. It could be from your BVN. Which means you need to go do afidavit for BVN update.

As it stands, those two names are different persons because of the name arrangement.

Only in Nigeria will you see this rubbish. Go to the Western countries, they don't care if you are 50 or 22, so far you can do the job and possesse the required skill, you will be employed. But here banks will be looking for 24 years and below. Military and paramilitaries will be looking for 30 years and below.. Rubbish. Nigeria is just a complicated country.

Possible but you need to explain this properly to the ECO

That will mean that a cover letter will be needed to explain both accounts submitted by the dependant, in particular what accounts cover what. You can also address why the funds are split across 2 accounts

2. She will need a consent letter from you regarding the balance of her maintainance in your own account

3.It doesn't matter if it is the same bank

I have 25m that is presently running for me and my dependant but due to the FX fluctuation, it might not be enough for both of us. But my spouse has a 4m in her bank that if added it will amount to 29million..So incase the 25m in my account isn't enough for both of us, Can I add the 4million in my wife's account?

Secondly, does she also need a consent letter to use my POf considering the fact that the 4m in her own account won't be enough for her own maintenance POF

Thirdly, the both banks are the same bank. I hope this isn't a problem.

In this case of "who is your sponsor" are we to say Self funded or what is the best answer we can give. Likewise, if you have a family over there, is it advisable to disclose?

If as a Doctor, Australia is easier for you to practice as a Nigerian trained Physician than USA.


If you are a nurse, go for USA because Australia is more difficult now for foreign nurses to practice in Ausie with some of their new policies. Whether US or Australia, you must write Nclex-rn to practice, so why waste time, money and energy writing Nclex-rn just to go to far away Australia whereas you can comfortably move to US once you pass the Nclex-rn.


Also Australia requires some additional qualification even after passing Nclex-rn whereas all you need to practice as a foreigned trained nurse in the US is to pass Nclex-rn exam

Can those from Nursing school also write this NCLEX?

The ECO naturally wouldn't be concerned about your renumeration unless there are other reasons to flag it up

Besides people save for years to embark on their master's degree, which may or may not be your case.

If requested,you can provide your appointment letter, your payslips and a cover letter explaining how you have saved for your study.

I doubt this would happen though, don't worry too much

Once the HO enforces restrictions in bringing your dependants under a study visa it will apply to Universities in Scotland also

So in summary, you can't bring dependant if you are studying in Scotland from Jan 2024

And people are already preparing towards applying to Scotland schools because of her come Jan 2024.... I wish I can oppose her in that group but I will be kicked out.

3. Depends on you. You can apply together or separately but given the impending changes, it might be better to apply together given the current situation to avoid stories that touch.

Seriously, I am just confused. Someone is saying I shouldn't let the school know I am going with a dependent, if not I might not be given CAS.

Lastly, pls how much should I calculate 600 or 650naira to a pounds?

Pls is the dependant maintenance fee same for the main applicant (school is within London)

Secondly, the school require POF of funds for CAS, must I also include the POf for my dependant as part of what I am submitting for CAS?

Thirdly, someone should give me a candid advice, should I apply for Visa together with my spouse or wait till I get there, then start her own application. Thank you as I await a reply from the gurus here
