PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Approves Higher Electricity Tariff by wendymanda: 2:12am On May 05, 2008
I don't think the renewable energy idea should be thrown out that quickly. Sweden and Ice land have both established intrinsic renewable energy systems and ohers are being researched. Ever heard of Hydrogen and solar powers all these are not just ideas but are being practices. Of course it is understandable that the Nigerian government have never of these when they have their heads up their butts. All the oil we do have does us no good anyways so why and how will we think far and intelligently enough into renewable energy.

Is there an energy ministry in Nigeria or is it just a crude oil industry?
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Approves Higher Electricity Tariff by wendymanda: 1:54am On May 05, 2008
I took a solar energy class last year and we discussed peak oil. However I watched Nightline or Dateline (one of the lines) and they said that the whole peak oil theory is a scare tactic.

I don't really have any political affiliation seeing as am not a citizen but what Obama said is not new. Though the connection is annoying to Nigerians but people do send those annyoing emails.

My shoe fetish is kind of destructive. I have a thing for coaches and I set aside some of my pay check for the real stuff.
I want to get the afrokicks shoe of Nigeria, my friend studied abroad in Ghana and he wants to get the Ghanaian one. So we will be rocking Africa this summer.

While privatizing the energy industry seems a brilliant venture will the government allow it or will we still just waddle in the crap we have been in for years? I suspect the government will not want to privatize it but maintain the disorder existing.

“It is expected that with the full implementation of the MYTO, the current situation in which the power industry is unable to generate enough revenue to cover its operating costs, undertake regular maintenance and make new investments, will become a thing of the past.
It is expected hmm. At this point shouldn't it be beyond expectations? He should also try investing in solar energy seeing as it is just expected.

“He wishes to reassure all Nigerians that his Administration is doing everything possible to ensure that stable power is achieved within the tenure of his Administration.”
He wishes as if it is Santa Clause he is trying to conjure up had they been doing everything possible power disruption would not be so rampant. They are actually doing everything possible in his house because if he realized the need for constant power supply they would not be so far behind.

They are not that bad. Well if you haven't been exposed to them.

This is one of the funniest threads on Nairaland. Could be because am high on caffeine pills or its my third all nighter of the week but I am cracking the f up. Firstly Dee02 is funny and the quoting of seun with nothing inside has me crying from laughter.

A poetry writer as in a poet. I don't know why I find "poetry writer" funny as hell probably because its that time of night when I ought to be sleeping.

Well taking a bus from somewhere in Nigeria to London. I tried once but it failed. Maybe like Pinky and the Brain I'll try again every night.

Because they want to get to London, which apparently's the same as Lagos! grin

Crazy world.
I remember when someone made this comment. I think it was last summer he also said something about taking a bus to London. Still cracks me up when I think about it. The comparison is hilarious and the resemblance is uncanny.
