OP. Say the truth. Of the millions of Nigerians in the UK- whats the percentage of people doing professional job? I understand what you are saying though. Having graduated from Nigeria with a First Class degree and wining a Shell Chevening Scholarship to study for an MSC degree in Information systems, I fell into the category of menial job worker after the 1 year Msc, reason because, it was hard getting a job with the Msc degree, while my White friends got jobs just immediately after graduation. For over a year - I worked all over the place - John Lewis, Safeway (then), Pizza Hut, to keep body and soul together - but then when the pro jobs came - it was high flying - earning top 300 pounds per day.

But, dont let us confuse people. The statistics can make the pictures clearer. The number of qualified Nigerians doing menial jobs far outweigh the one doing pro jobs. Please, noone is saying menial jobs are bad, but to paint the picture like the UK is heavenly and use it to confuse folks back home is a serious disservice to them. With menial jobs - how much can you save at 5pounds per hour? Having to make ends meet by doing extra hours and working 24/7. That is what I term slavery- disagree with me - its allowed. But dont confuse people back home and letting them think once you get to the UK with your visiting visa- the jobs are all out there for them to chose from.

And it is sad to believe that anyone in Nigeria who tells the truth about how life in the UK or diaspora is, then that person must hate diasporians or is sad because he was deported or denied visa. Almost every household in Nigeria has someone in the diaspora - so, why will Nigerians at home hate those abroad?

The issue is when people twist the truth and make it seem like people or others havent been and seen what is available, some people trip like if you havent been abroad, then, you havent seen life. Haba? It shouldnt be.

And whoever says suffer no dey abroad, that person needs his or her head examined.

Why do people put undue importance on themselves? As if the country Nigeria will collapse without them?

justwise: I'm sure that many people who left Nigeria to study and refused to return wrote this type of theory i'm reading from you here, it appears you are being sponsored by your parents at the moment, when you get to the UK, finish your studies, get a job and work and save then come back and tell us how many scholarships and primary schools you have given to your community.

Nigeria is 'poor' today because she is 'rich', not coming back to Nigeria is not unpatriotic, in the case of Nigeria, home is where you felt at home, it could be Iraq or Afghanistan, it doesn't have to be Nigeria because i own Nigeria nothing and not under any obligation to pay back.

Who says you do? Does Nigeria give a damn if you come back or not?

its not news that the treasury has been depleted and the country is on life support! you can tell the marines that its a lie but we know that it got so bad that civil servants were owed thier salaries, corpers were also owed salaries under the guise of a never ending biometric compilation of data! its not news anymore that the government increased the price of fuel by over 100% intialy in January of the year not putting in consideration the people,if you earn 30,000 a month and have 3 children i wonder how you would cope without stealing in Nigeria. simply because with the increase in the price of petrol there was an astronomical rise in the price of coomodities and services nation wide! and the solution was to provide 1200 buses in the middle of the protests, well i doubt if anyone has seen the "subsidy" buses outside Abuja!. You can decieve other people all you want and pretend that all is well you and the people that advise the president if I were doyin okupe, Abati, Maku and the reset of the spin doctors I would address the issues raised and not the personalities.

Theres still a disconnect between the government and the people as admitted by Ngozi Okono Iweala,the people dont trust the government! i know that one of the factors that helped this government in the last elections was the fact that they had control of the media its a very expensive venture and i still wonder how and where they got the funds to do so may be you could tell us!This government is backed by the people that ruined Nigeria and i stand to be corrected if people like Alamesigha, Tony Anenih, Bode George, Bamangar Tukur, Gbenga Daniel, Abdulahi Adamu etc are your campaign coordinators i wonder whose interest you have at heart! People like you are enjoying the country the way it is, you are quick to label other people as enemies forgeting that Adamu Chiroma, Lawal Keita and Atiku Abubakar that promised fire and brimestone are all PDP members, Azazi confirmed that! but you see this is a government that had to wait for over a year to reluctantly sack an incompetent inspector general of police. Who was in charge of the umuahia Aba zone when kidnappers took over the state, and even kiddnapped little kids instead of your commander in chief to relive him off his duties GEJ promoted him to be IGP. The list of clueless decisions are plenty and the reality on ground is that the true real nigerians are not happy.

I want peace and wish the president well, hope he gets better advisers and developes a character of a true leader and not people like you that would sit down and tell him lies

Or 2.1 or 2.2 or third class for a medical student. It is either a medical Doctor passes or fails. At best, they graduate with distinction.
