@ekt Bear, www.huffingtonpost.com/blackberry/p.html?id=1364530 The link above shows US Fed reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke giving a series of lectures at a Washington university. Is lecturing a part of the Mandate of a Fed reserve chairman? Shouldn't he be the busiest man in the financial world trying to pull the US and the rest of the world out of a seeming endless slump? |
So my question is, is any time SLS invited anywhere to give a talk, even it has nothing little or nothing to do with his official mandate as CBN head, is it still fine to use CBN resources to prepare that speech? I mean it seems slightly strange from my POV. Also..how on earth does he have time to be doing all of this stuff not related to his job, and moreover spending work-related funds on things again unrelated to his job?
Give it a rest you've got absolutely nothing on him. How do you define the "mandate" of a CBN governor? What's wrong with giving a speech at a convocation ceremony in ones capacity as a CBN governor and having a dept in the institution he governs prepare his speech? And what's that tripe about spending work - related funds on things unrelated to his job? What "funds" are u talking abt? Are we still on this topic or have we veered to something else? The argument of wastage of public funds appears hackneyed when it becomes an excuse to ridicule an individual out of what is increasingly looking like primordial sentiments. I don't see how an objective analyst would fault Sanusi given his defense except perhaps for poor oversight. |
If I'm the CEO of Apple, and am invited to give a speech at my alma mater, I presumably cannot use Apple resources to prepare said speech...it has absolutely nothing to do with what my actual job is..
Well, thats because you're the CEO of Apple and not some Public officer in a third world country with invites every other week to grace all sorts of occasions. Who has the time to prepare well researched speeches for every occasion? This was a speech that bore very little academic weight and delivered in his capacity as the CBN governor. Its not like this was some Phd work or a published article by the governor so if he says it was prepared by "his" research dept, then give him the benefit of doubt cos there's absolutely nothing wrong in a public officer esp one in a demanding role as the CBN governor having his speech prepared by an in house crew. While I believe that ultimate responsibilty should be borne by Sanusi for the oversight, I also believe the issue here is at most trivial and like every smart guy, Sanusi has got his ars* very well covered. |
I think I understand the word just fine. The point is, if you give a commencement speech at a university, this is probably not part of your job description at CBN head. So not a priori clear that you'll be able to expend the resources of your institution to prepare that speech...
Sorry but I dont think you understood the context the word was used as fine as you think, in any case Sanusi didn't give the speech in his capacity as a Kano Prince but as Nigeria's CB governor so trying to fault him for using "the resources of his institution" to prepare a speech is pure baloney. |
ekt_bear : A convocation speech at a university = "institution paper"? That was not "clear enough" to me at all...^^ Perhaps you have a problem understanding what the word "insitutional" means. |
Jarus, the question is, the stuff which Sanusi is accused of plagiarizing, was that written by him, or by this research department? Like, this speech given at a commencement for example.
Jarus: but his communication guys may issue a statement to clarify that it was an institutional paper prepared by his research department, not his personal paper.^ One would think this was clear enough! |
PA1982: No answer, then?Point of correction, I attend some other church but occasionally catch his programmes on TV. The reason u're at the level you are is cos you're yet to experience the awesome power of God first hand and I pray someday his presence would fill you and you get to finally understand what it is you think you're speaking about. |
Has the super glue and motorcycle spare part market not moving again?
Half baked moronic impostor, do yourself a favour and complete your secondary education and hope someone takes the risk of making u a "shopboy". |
kurus: Insults and logic do not mix. A CBN governor is the ultimate job as far as the economy of a country is concerned. Show me ANY serious nation that put a master in theology/islamic studies as its CBN governor? The shame is that so called educated ones like you, see nothing wrong with these. How many people here will get on a plane being driven by a guy who is not a pilot, but who the airline feels should be able to drive a plane?I presume your knowledge of the financial world is impeccable so would you mind explaining to me how someone who majored in Biological sciences and Theology rose to become a managing director in hedge funds in Goldman Sachs? Perhaps what those guys do there aren't as important as what is done in a Central Bank so they can afford to throw in anyone to manage such vital funds can't they? I bet they would also fly on an airplane with a gardener as pilot won't they? If you want a list of Nigerians with intimidating degrees that have messed up this country, the list is endless and non is more obvious than Sanusi's predecessor. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Soludo's intellectual contributions and his numerous tinkerings and economic manipulations - they made my study more interesting - but how far did it get us when he couldn't rise up to the moral challenge that has been the bane of our nation? Listen and hear me once again, Academic qualification does not rationalize performance and in any case, a CBN governor is a "figurehead" who even if he determines the direction of economic policies, doesnt make those decisions in isolation. The CBN has a board and numerous committees for Christs sake! |
^^^ Neither does she believe in Miracles, its all beginning to add up. So much for being a Catholic. |
kurus: SLS is a fraud, has always been and will always be. SLS has a first degree in Economics and a master degree in Islamic studies from Sudan. Thats why he has no idea of what cross-referencing is, even though he has a masters degree. Are u daft or are you DAFT? Since when did Nigerias problem become a lack of educated or qualified folks? What every job in this country requires first and foremost is "honesty", every other thing including "qualifications" is secondary and that's exactly why Sanusi ranks up there as one of the very best CBN govs. Academic qualification does not rationalize performance. Get that into your head. |
Onlytruth: I'm still waiting for an answer to my question.Even if he doesn't, I'd say he's done superbly for someone with just a Bsc in Economics. The jury's still out on who's done better between him and a certain Prof and I can tell u its heavily skewed in favour of the Bsc Holder! |
^^ Do u have a problem with English? How does " retiring from active duty" translate to being called home by God? |
^^ Didn't watch the video and I'm not about to and don't care what's in it, I convinced myself by seeing with my eyes and hearing with my ears, I suggest you do same. I can bet you've never watched any of his programmes but consider yourself smart cos you formed an opinion by reading peoples views on NL and watching you tube videos! Such a pity. I owe u no apology and its ludicrous that you're asking for one from someone that's only trying to get u to use that thing balanced on your neck called a "head". |
^^^ Good for you. Now will u just drop it and believe whatever pleases you? |
Since we all know its a hoax why is it still on the frontpage? This is so unfair. |
nativedoctor: In my place it is forbidden to eat mosquitoes. If they had to forbid mosquitoes, then I bet soldier ants would be a delicacy! |
^^ it would bebest if u didn't waste your time arguing with PA1982 its absolutely a waste of effort I can tell you. She claims to bea Catholic but fits in more as an agnostic or even an atheist. Save your strength for someoneworth it my brother. |
Something tells me GEJ knows exactly what he's talking about in saying Boko Haram is about to be crushed. Something tells me GEJ will have the last laugh pretty soon so mock all u want. |
RICHIE BOI: This prophesy is definitely for the current Argentinian president cristina fernandez. she has been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer.she is receiving treatment.FALSE. She was cleared of having cancer after an earlier diagnosis that turned out to be wrong. |
PA1982: Another weasel-prophecy.What's it with you and this Prophet? You seem to be determined to discredit his every word. is there some history no one is aware of or is this just a personal mission? |
Reference: Well according to this report he says it is a waste of time reporting good news since the people will not listen. Can you imagine that. Since when has the gospel become a populist movement. It will never be popular for obvious reasons but as a preacher his job is to do so anyway. He is spreading bad news to attract attention. That is the tactic of mass media and does not represent the values of the church. Anyway what is the guarantee that those on death row will repent and do good. Hitler slaughtered to the bitter end and gave orders for the execution of Herman Goering and Heinrich Himler just before he shot himself and Stalin was signing execution warrants dying of cancer. Death or its fear does little to reform the damned. TBJ should know this. Old Testament systems don't work anymore ask Noah. Gospel 101.My erudite and learned friend please show me a Prophet in the Bible that constantly gave Bread and butter prophecies please, just show me so all the grammar u blew above me would be useful. |
Canisma: Just watching Emmanuel t.v.^^ Are u serious or just kidding? Please say more and explain what lead to his prophecy cos I know he never makes statements in isolation. |
Get this into your heads: GEJ will contest and probably win the 2015 election if he does well in his present term. His participation would clearly be on merit and on a level playing field with everyone but make no mistake about this, his participation would not be dependent on the opinion of some Northern, S Western or Eastern Oligarchs or some assumed agreement neither would it be at the whim of any individual. OBJ is now an old man and has served his country to the best of his abilities and therefor deserves his break but this should not be construed as some sort of 'Pontius Pilate washing of hands'. This is beyond any one single individual and he's absolutely free to pitch his tent anywhere he pleases afterall Tinubu did same, e neva tire am? |
I wonder which part of "I" some people are finding it difficult to comprehend here. are you the product/s of the nigerian educational system or you want nigeria to take the rap for wherever you were educated.
You shouldn't have made it known on a forum if u have no intention of defending it. I put your assertion down to mischief or ignorance or perhaps both. |
That man is something, but definitely not God's messenger. I've yet to hear a positive profeces from him.
And u know all these because . . .? |
