Kobojunkie: ^^^ The Firing really should start from the Federal Ministry of Finance end of this, not from the contractors end.

As it stands,we have no clue if the accounting contractor did it's duty according to the contract it signed with the ministry, or not. For all we know, they are probably being made scape goats here.
Come off it. Who's being made a scapegoat, an Accounting firm as big as Akintola Williams? humour me!
One of the most profound statements during the live subsidy debates was made by Gov Adams Oshiomhole while trying to discredit the letters of credit and supposedly audited import records openly said "no matter how big or reputable the Accounting/Auditing firms in the country seem to be, when the amount involved is big enough everything has got its price", with a casual wave of the hand he simply said "we know all these things", he hardly made an impression on anyone and there wasn't even as much as a whimper from the Auditing firms - one of the obvious times when silence surly meant consent. As someone who started out in that line of work myself, I knew he was only saying the obvious hence the relative indifference that met his otherwise shocking statement.
Fact is the country is the victim of these accounting firms and not the other way round and I assure u that if a honest enquiry were to be launched into theactivities of these firms, they'd all go the way of Arthur Andersen. Believe it or not, dropping these auditors is a huge step forward and a nasty slap in the face to those coys cos ordinarily in that line of biz, reputation should mean everything -
well ideally!

^^^ What truth have you told aside the fact that you can't tell the difference between a "President" and a "Leader" and can't seem to distinguish between a past and a forseen future event?
Christianity Etc › Re: T.B Joshua Again. Goodnews This Time, For Argentina. by wesley80(m): 9:56pm On Apr 20, 2012
Ptolomeus: First, the president of Argentina is a very resisted by its own people. It is not at all a president stressed or wanted.
But the most serious of all is that it effectively (Cristina Fernandez) underwent surgery THYROID CANCER IN JANUARY 2012, AND THE RESULT WAS SUCCESSFUL.
The upshot of all this is that what you call a "prophecy" is nothing but a BIG STUPIDITY.
It is clear then, that this FALSE PROPHET T.B. JOSHUA is nothing but a charlatan, a FRAUD ..
In your haste to discredit another man, all you"ve done is to make a total joke of yourself Cos the Argentine President never had "cancer". If u pay attention to the news like u pretend to I'm sure u wld have heard she was wrongly diagnosed and was bact to work a few days later as agains at least amonths rest that was planned.
eideard.com/2012/01/08/argentinas-president-has-cancer-surgery-never-had-cancer/
In any case, TB Joshua never specified if it wld be a President or not he chose his words carefully in calling the person a "leader". He actually said it could be a VP, President or something else as I recall. Neither did he say the person was "loved" but that the person was young and needed by his country.

Something else I'lld love to add. That those guys changed their views after listening to Pastor Chris does not mean they did becos it was "Pastor CHRIS" speaking but simply because they learnt what previously they didn't know. Twas just a case of having a better understanding and accepting it rather than the terribly simplistic explanation of hero worship you seem to be insinuating.

Ptolomeus: Someone must know what those traditions?
For example, who do not eat pig or snake: they are aware of the reason that traditionally do not eat?
I once asked why snails are forbidden and it was clarified to me that the prohibition was actually exclusively for Men only but women had to also abide by it so they don't entice their Men and sons. The story was that generations ago a powerful charm that forbade snails was given to the males to protect and energize them during battles ( If you know a little history abt the ancient wars in that area you'd know exactly what I'm talking abt).

As for Iguanas, we do not actually forbid them but our sister town across the Niger revere them and since a good number of folks in my town have relations from there, twas only natural we respected their trad. My aunt once told the story of a day they were going to the farm in a canoe with my grandparents and my grandPa sighted a dead Iguana floating by on the river but despite his best efforts to draw my grandmas attention away from the carcass( She's originally from the Town across the Niger) she sighted it and started wailing! My grandpa had to go after the dead and floating Iguana, retrieve it and conduct a little "burial" ceremony b4 they continued their trip to the farm! They actually believe they r re-incarnates of their ancestors or something.

afam4eva: Who forbids snail? I prefere to be banished from my village than to give up eating snail.

@wesley
What part of Anioma are you from?
LOL, what you don't know cannot kill you, I remember a day in skool I and my roomie were literally starving and his GF prepared a sumptuous meal but unfortunately for me loaded the soup with snails! I had to let it pass me by and what I missed in that meal wasn't the intimidating pieces of snails (they actually disgusted me) but an opportunity to quench my hunger with a leafy soup and akpu!

BTW, I'm from Aboh, The original Aboh.

Look Beaf, the truth is bitter but must be said. I am not intelligent and I never said I was but one thing is certain. After you mess up your state, you run to other states that YOU claim are corrupt ? Is that not da.ft. I know you as a very intelligent person but it seems like you have sold you gift for some coins or even worse BIGOTRY.

In this thread I would not trade words with you but would like you and others like you to give COMMON SENSE a chance to show cast itself.

How much does Kano get compare to a typical Niger-delta state may be 4-6 times less right ? apart from other benefits the Niger-delta gets but which state is better ? Well it speaks for itself don't it not ?
Come you this barely literate newly liberated almajiri, will u shut your mouth and allow this thread achieve its purpose? People are tired of reading your disjointed English, senseless and endless battles in every thread. Na beg I dey beg u o!

Tos87: My friend visited a Village in Delta State. He was advised not to eat Alligator...that if he does he will die. I want to know if, in your place, there is any animal that you shouldn't eat and the consequence(s) that is/are suffered by anyone who does.
You guys sure its an "alligator" that's actually forbiden? Mind u, the only obvious difference between an alligator and a croc is in its size and length of snout I think you guys actually mean the Iguana or Monitor lizard, I may be wrong though but the Iguana is forbidden in my area of Delta state in sympathy with our brothers across the Niger who revere the Iguana. I also know of a number of towns in Delta state that forbid the Iguana.
In my town we also forbid "Snails"! I can't tell u how many mouth watering meals I've missed becos of that prohibition but even as a Christian, I've not been able to get myself to finally eat it esp after living with the fear of developing skin bumps if one eats it for so long.

Goshen360: @ wesley80,

Okay. You are good on all the three questions. On the third question also, just like you, I will not also "condemn" even an Atheist for not believing in God simple because, an Atheist can change tomorrow. So also, I wont condemn a pharmacist for stocking condoms but it still doesn't mean I will support and Atheist or the pharmacist that stocked such condoms. When we, believers who are called by the name of the Lord begin to do somethings like the worldly people and there is no difference, we've got problem somewhere my brother.

I don't know if it's you or someone else talking about Paul writing to Timothy about taking little wine for his stomach and Jesus turning water to wine. I just pray people will not just hide behind some kind of bible verses to justify some fleshy things. I am not going into that here as am not in the mood for much talk today.

Pastor Chris should know more than what he says in the open. Everybody listening to Chris are not on same level of faith. Some people will abuse what he says and keep living in sin and because Chris had been idolized, they won't see anything wrong in what they are doing even when someone else is telling then the truth. I won't say more than this for now as i don't intend going into much talking today. I will rest this talk for now.

God bless you bro.
I think its unfair to blame peoples naivety on Past Chris. What he owes his congregation and his listeners is The Truth and that's what he's been preaching. When people choose to twist his words and quote him out of context to ridicule his ministry its their problem not his. I watched the Q&A session where he made his now famous statement about maesturbatn and sitting there listening, only a demon would have construed his words to be an endorsement of maesturbatn but days later what was the story all over the net? The truth has got to be said and I assure you there are few folks more conscious of their vicarious responsibilities as Christians than the MOG. And yes, God Bless u too.

Goshen360: ^
1. Are you are born again Christian?
2. Do you think all sins are recorded in the bible, as in the bible being specific about all sins under heaven?
3. If you are born again believer, can you do a business that involves say like, burial ground, selling casket, producing alcohol and/or cigarette?

Answers to these questions, then i will decide to either drop this discussion as you suggested or continue and show you some things from the word of God.
1) I am a Born again Christian
2) No, I do not think the Bible mentions all sins
3) As an individual, none of those line of businesses interest me and I won't be going into any of them in the foreseeable future but as a Christian, I do not believe there's anything wrong in going into any of those businesses just like I wouldn't condemn a pharmacist for stocking condoms.

musKeeto: If they do not bring glory to God, do they take glory away from God? Does that make them sin then?

Confusion everywhere
They do not necessarily take glory away from God but as Paul alluded to in 1st Corinth 8 : 9, one has got to be careful not to lead others astray through your well intended actions. Paul said;
"Take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours be a stumbling block to them that are weak"
Our reponsibilities as Christians goes beyond our actions as individuals for we are also responsible for others and that is what makes smoking and drinking wrong, but do not get it twisted, They are not SINS.
Christianity Etc › Re: Nothing Wrong With Alcohol, Cigarette – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome? <<Rumor?>> by wesley80(m): 7:09am On Apr 16, 2012
Goshen360: And what exactly are you saying? That it is okay for a Christian to smoke and drink alcohol? Is this what you're saying?
What the Pastor meant(if he actually said this) is pretty clear to me and I totally agree with him just as I agreed with him over his stance on maesturbatn but unfortunately, u didn't agree with him then and neither will you now so maybe the right thing to do would be to just drop the argument. If taking alcohol was a sin why would Apostle Paul ask Phillip to "take a little alcohol for the sake of your stomach"? And what again was Jesus' first miracle? No one preaches drinking and smoking in CE, they are habits that are abhorred but abhorrence does not qualify them to be called "sin" does it?
There's a huge difference between an addicted smoker and a person that lights up sometimes just as there's one between a drunkard and an occasional drinker but what we should recognize is that smoking and drinking are actions that can easily become a habit and do not in any way bring Glory to God, strengthen the weak in faith or even nourish the body and are therefor seeming "unchristian" habits and preached against in churches. But does that qualify them to be called SIN? Absolutely not and I'lld love to hear your argument why they are.

Image123: How about someone coming to murder you, despoil your whole clan and plunder your goods screaming ALL THINGS ARE LAWFUL UNTO ME?
My brother read the scripture I quoted if you know where it is in the Bible and maybe you'll understand that there's no basis for drawing the kind of comparison you just drew.
Christianity Etc › Re: Nothing Wrong With Alcohol, Cigarette – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome? <<Rumor?>> by wesley80(m): 11:23pm On Apr 15, 2012
Goshen360: Thank you and God bless you. Somebody just need to tell Chris to stop these heresies he preaches everywhere. This is crazy.
So you think every smoker and drinker is going to hell and Christians working in such companies are also sinners? What Pastor Chris has said can only be called heresy by the naive as his point is pretty clear to the open minded. Like Apostle Paul said " all things are lawful unto me but I'll not be brought under the control of anything". Ponder on that.

Just finished watching the evening service and what I BELIEVE he was refering to was a "Minister of God" whom he referred to as "Great and Very Old now and is about to go and rest" he said he would speak more about it as it got closer.
About the Argentinian, he only referred to the person as a "leader" and actually said he could be the vice president or any other leader that is still quite young but wld fall Ill and slide into a coma but would die IF HE'S OPERATED ON. But if he's only treated with medication, helld make a full recovery.
Watching todays programme, I had to beg God to forgive me for doubting his prophet, yes he made such a huge impression that my doubts dissolved completely.
