Am I the only one who saw the part where Fasola said Lagos has not received a kobo from ebola funds?

What is really going on? Why is money not released for ebola?

Jonathan and the minister of health have been lying to Nigerians that they released money for ebola.

Business / Re: Fashola Commissions Tejuosho Market by whitecat007: 10:38am On Aug 16, 2014
Fingers are not equal! Let those who can't afford it get somewhere cheaper or hawk their wares till they can rent.

This market is not built for charity. You can't be asking for development and be using cookie cutter measure at the same time.
dammytosh:

I don't have problem with the commisioning.

I have problem with Government that favours the rich and those who have a little coins.

You won't understand their pain until u assume you are in the University and your Uncle, your sponsor who used to be in that market lose his shop because he can not afford the utlra modern market.

Responsible Government should be for all irrespective of what they are trying to achieve.

I wonder what exactly the minister of health was doing when he kept hearing about ebola deaths in other countries before it got to Nigeria.

The man should be fired but, the clueless Jonathan can't do anything right.
sirjohnson: The latest now is that A Nigerian has just been quarantined in Singapore for Ebola. Read it HERE, so I do not blame any country that decides to dissociate itself from Nigeria.

America will destroy what they can't make money from.

They want Nigeria to come to them crawling and begging for the "secret serum" so they can extract some conditions, that's not happening soon enough, so they have to make sure no one else take credit for ebola medicine.
cirmuell: Give us Ur serum, you refused. We came up with a 'likely' cure you're whining again...for petes sake what really do the US govt want? undecided

You forgot some of his primary contacts attended conference in Calabar and some have been sent to Lagos for observation and possibly quarantine?

Calabar brought ebola to Nigeria. The organizers of the ECOWAS should have done what some countries are doing to Nigeria now by not allowing countries with ebola participate in the gathering.

Cctv and?

Cctv or not, People can only see what the police want you to see on there.

If the deceased's family has money or can raise money to hire a private investigator with death wish, then maybe they can get justice.
lafuria1:

It is the police who would produce the video, they control the CCTV, so far they haven't.

h yes!!! All the time!! And the more raggedy your car is in certain areas, the more you are likely to be stopped and hauled to jail, and may God help you if there's no eyewitness. Racial and status profiling is everything but letting them know you know right changes everything. Some colors on your vehicles are game too grin grin grin Ameriwonda!

Gbam! Gbam! Gbam!
BlueMagic2: For those of you who don't live in the US and don't really understand what's going on in the US. Y'all need to shut the 4k up and concentrate on solving the Ebola, Boko Haram and numerous problems in Nigeria. The people rioting are just ignorant fools. There is an on going investigation both by the police and the FBI. This is not like the incompetent Nigerian police who just go about harassing and killing innocent Citizens. Blacks are just by their stereotype Saggy pants, Unfathered Kids, kids running around without no supervision, there are more black on black crime than white on black crimes. Its sad that the kid was killed but Blacks have a lot of issues that they need to address.

I doubt anyone can know this American in 1year, it's like onion buried in cabbage. Judging a book by the cover can be a total disaster, US style. The thing that baffled me most how they became the world police, when everything they speak against other countries for are all happening in their homes.
pansophist:
15 years is definitely too much. I knew the real America in less than a year, and I am so glad I am not living there, tufiakwa.

Bullshitt!!!!!!!!

Whites already know you sell yourselves at a drop of a hat and there is no point doing that for you. You "AA" kiss white arsess as much as you hate them. You have shown whites that they can do anything they want to Africans as long as "AA" are not messed with.
khiaa:

Those threads were started by a Nigerian woman. She could have really been white because alot of white racist come here from Stormfront to cause havoc, that is why I stopped going to the AA forum because they flooded it with so much hatred pretending to be Africans to cause resentment between the two. They have entered NL also. They are on this very thread.
Foreign Affairs / Re: There Is A Race Riot Going On In America Right Now!! by whitecat007: 12:51pm On Aug 14, 2014
Only those who don't know America or have not seen the real American, it takes nothing less than 15year to know this country.
pansophist: And later you will see some Africans defending America with the last pinch of their blood, pathetic.
Foreign Affairs / Re: There Is A Race Riot Going On In America Right Now!! by whitecat007: 12:38pm On Aug 14, 2014
I've not really seen that on Nairaland but, in real life. Average "AA" don't see us as the same people, they discriminate against us and join forces with whites to frustrate the hell out of you when they get the opportunity. Then jealousy! Omg!!! You often hear things like "You Africans come here to get the biggest cars and houses" infact 9 out 10 believe you should't do better than them. There's a popular phrase here that when you walk to an office to put some important documents together and meet an "AA" who is in a bad mood(which can be every other 10mins)first, may God help you, your accent alone is enough. You wonder why all the fake accents our people now have.

hermesprogidy: The funny thing is that African- Americans discriminate against other Africans, especially on this forum. Life is such an irony.

@op, not only solidarity but matching of soldiers. Do you know what Africans are going through daily in the US while your so called fellow Blacks either look away, are the architects or the cheerleaders to help get them more railroaded?

It's sad when lives are lost, but they protect themselves and their interests only leaving Africans out, they don't care about us, so they need to face their struggle while we face ours.

Now they just created a loophole through the waiver thing. We all know what it means is that some people still get to take their dead to wherever they want, it's just a matter of "who you know and who knows you" when it should have been with no exception.
Politics / Re: An Open Letter Of Apology From A Liberian To Nigerians by whitecat007: 3:01pm On Aug 13, 2014
Why the apology now and not when the news first broke about their role in bringing ebola to Nigeria? Is this apology here now because they truly feel sorry for pain and grief they caused Nigerians or for the Liberians in Nigeria to have peace and not feel the heat? They fought tooth and nail for the corpse to be sent back when they knew the risk involved and we didn't see letters of apology litter anywhere until now. All I see in the apology is they don't want their people picked on in Nigeria and not about orphans who have lost everything and millions who are in fear every minute.

To feel sorry for having been caught for something is different from heartfelt apology. Would there have been this letter if there had been no cartoons or the so call stigma?
Food / Re: Edikaikong - The King Of Nigerian Soups by whitecat007: 1:22pm On Aug 13, 2014
Maybe because we set the standard you all are measured by. You even started your comment with Yoruba word and then singled out an "Efo Riro" out of all other stews/soups here. Is it because you know the your now "Edikaikong" was not originally yours? Ikokore was even made recently, with some leaves tossed in it and wahla! It Was called something else.

The Edikaikong I have tasted once about 7yrs ago in Riverdale and have seen many times at mama calabar restaurant and others in Atlanta was not inviting enough for me to want to try it again. The closest plates to pictures on this thread I've seen is that of Efo Riro.

You are right, Yoruba call this "Efo Riro" (stewed, stir fried or sauteed greens) and call the soup "obe"
Ashantiking:

This is not soup, this is stew.

Soup- a liquid dish, typically made by boiling meat, fish, or vegetables, etc., in stock or water.

Stew- a dish of meat and vegetables cooked slowly in liquid in a closed dish or pan.
"lamb stew"

What's the difference between the pictures here and Efo Riro? Even in restaurants in the US, that's efo riro.

Mynd44: Someone needs to start an Edikaikong Vs Efo riri Thread grintongue

When will Lagos learn that Fg will continue to be a clog in Yoruba wheel of progress. Can't Fasola find another foreign investor to take the 20% meant for Fg? For how long are we going to sit and watch Fg use bone to drag out meat?

Fasola please just drop Fg with their 20%, afterall it's not as if they are contributing even a quarter of the cost. Abeg drop them and find others to replace the yeye 20%.
