Well, i do know that from leaving Enugu through New Market to 9th Mile is very very bad as of Easter 2012 when i was there. i dont know about beyond 9th Mile cos i turned off there heading to Nsukka. Those roads are federal roads, and federal roads are generally bad in the East... |
^^^ I c. Where is Zoological gardens located, not that my knowledge of Enugu is so good after such a long absence? Do they have a website? |
By the way, does anyone have pictures of the new Golf resort estate or what its called? I saw some parts of it on my way out of Enugu, via New Market. It looks like a wonderful place for a serene home. @Spydder, any help? |
Ileke-IdI:Igbo: Nba, Obodo Oyinbo kan bi. Yoruba: mo wa ni Ilu awon "Brave Hearts" |
Ileke-IdI:Na so o. Just pictures of Lagos and Enugu, simply because i was born and bred in Lagos, but from Enugu (omo ibo ton jo fuji pelu Atilogwu, nice combo eh ) , so have family and friends mostly in those two states |
Ileke-IdI:Yea, i know that feeling Ileke, but wetin man go do na? Just do it ninja style, "quiet, short and sharp", o get me abi? ![]() |
PROUD-IGBO:Was my pleasure. I think continuity and maintainance are two thing we fail in doing in naija. Water is still an issue in Enugu, even in Independence Layout, power too, though i geuss that's a national issue. |
Somorin#1:Thats good. I might hook with you as per camera's, i'm thinking of getting another lens, maybe wide angle to complement my 70-300mm. As per the Lagos pics, i've opened a thread for that. https://www.nairaland.com/978098/easter-2012-boat-trip-ikare#11277861 |
Ileke-IdI:Please make we no fight na. Abeg una, i no get power. |
Well, that's all i can share! |
Pic1: Another house: Notice the quad bike next to the pool Pic2: View to the atlantic ocean
|
Pic: One of such houses. Notice the local boy staring. Funny enough, the locals i spoke with were not Yoruba, they were Ghanaians! Was suprised. They spoke Awe language i believe its called. Disclaimer: I'm not saying the islanders were Ghanaians, just that they few i spoke with were Ghanaians.
|
Pic1: One Ikare Island. Lots of houses there, with private power and swimming pools. Would have loved to show the pools, but i'm sure you guys dont want to see what my whole family looks like right? ![]()
|
Pic1: Well, dont know exactly, just along the way.. Pic2&3: Some guys having fun! Naija sweet when u get pepper, i lie thee not!
|
Pic1: Commercial boat transport. At least they have lifejackets on abi? Pic2: Oil vessel. Notice the fuel farm behind. Who knows how much subsidy this one claimed? ![]()

Pic1&2: Passing the ports

Next Pics is of Otedola (yes, of the bribe giver fame) boat. Pic 1: Back view of the boat pic 2 Closer pi

Whitehorse: Same here too, sort of a hobby with me. I was also i Lagos and took some pictures of a private boat ride from VI to Ikare island. The Island is about 30mins from VI. Very secluded. Does anyone want to see the pics? Can create another thread for it...Allright, for the omo Eko's here's the thread of my Lagos boat trip pictures... https://www.nairaland.com/978098/easter-2012-boat-trip-ikare#11277494 |
First picture: Lagos Boat hotel. Dont ask me who owns it. ![]() 2nd pic: One of the ships used in raising Eko Atlantic city. You can google the name for more info. Dont know why it was docked there on that day
|
Allright, Complementing the pics i took of Enugu, here i pics i took a few days later in Lagos. It was a private boat ride from VI to Ikare Island. Ikare Island is about 20-30mins from VI, and i learnt its somewhere off coast of Ojo |
Ileke-IdI:lol. Not really, just pictures of where i went to during my short stay there. Obviously, not every part of the city would look the same way. |
ondo_boi: NOAre you sure? I have a picture of Otedola's boat. ![]() |
Biggyd2: Beautiful pictures. So how would you rate your governor. Many people from Imo state seem to like theirs. It would be good to celebrate any government that is working.Well, i think the current governor is doing well by naija standard, but he's does not seem to make much publicity of what he's doing. Just my tots |
toluxa1: Amazing! I love picturesSame here too, sort of a hobby with me. I was also i Lagos and took some pictures of a private boat ride from VI to Ikare island. The Island is about 30mins from VI. Very secluded. Does anyone want to see the pics? Can create another thread for it... |
Last set of pics. Hope it was enjoyable!
|
oiseworld: pls what camera's did u use for this pictures. Ver clear and sharp.I have Nikon 3000 with a 70-300mm lens. Basically a long range lens. Yea, i guess i took multiple shots of same roads sometimes... |
Next set of pictures are not roads, but mainly greenery. I was on a building site in Nsukka with a relative, the site is on a hill. Fantastic view!
|
Still on the way to Nsukka
|
Back. I was suprised at how much Enugu had changed, considering i had my university education in that town in the 90's. Enugu metropolis is looking good, but the federal roads are bad. I'm not sure i got pics of the bad parts though Next pics are on the way to Nsukka via 9th mile.

Got to do some stuff, will come back with more pictures |
