PropertiesRe: The Real Cost Of Building A Six Bedroom Duplex by Whitehorse: 12:14pm On Apr 14, 2011
All,

Please does anyone have an idea of rent for a 2 bedroom flat in the Igbo Elerin (sorry i meant Ilogbo Eremi) Area of Badagry? I have two plots of land there that i bought in 2009, and i'm thinking of building 4 flats on one plot in a bungalow sort of design while leaving the other plot empty for now.

I understand a 4 flat bungalow design will cost less to build than a block of 4 flats (1 storey).

I'm trying to learn and utilize the PE our teachers have just taught us.  smiley

Guys,

For all those preparing for certifications, if you are good in self study, i'll advise you go for that method, but if you study better in a group, and have the money then go for those training courses.

In my experience, self study works very well for me. You need to know that a few weeks or months of a training program wont make you a Cisco expert, it takes time, lots of hours spent on self study AND hands on practise either at work on home lab for you to get really good. Most of the stuff i learnt, i learnt by self study, plus experience AND passion to learn. I'm a network engineer in the Oil and Gas industry based in the UK.

So, to help your self study, try the following links

http://www.blindhog.net/     -> video tutorials on all sorts of topics
http://7200emu.hacki.at/      -> devoted to dynamips
http://www.careercert.info/   --> u can get pdf books and video there, forget the dumps, wont help you.

If u need any clarification or more info, give me a shout.

cheers

Great topic here i must say and very informative.
I'm building a house for my dad in Enugu too, specifically in Ezeagu. My dad handles all the stuff since i'm based outside the country.

I've spent about N700k to do the foundation, and i just sent another N1m to bring the building to roofing level.

The building is a 6 bedroom, 3 toilet/bathroom, 2 linked sitting room apartment. I understand its a big building.

I've attached the plans i have, my younger sister who is an Architect did the designs for me. I'm wondering how much more i have to spend (roofing, electrical, windows etc) to complete this house.

Please note this house is just for my dad, i'm not out to build a mansion. Infact i had to start the project to prevent relatives from taking over the land, which explains the size of the building.

I also have two plots of land just after tollgate, after Agbara in badagry, i plan to build there later for rentals, but one project after the other,

I'm trained as an IT person, i'm just learning the ropes in building houses. Thanks everyone for your great inputs!
PropertiesRe: Don't Be A Victim. Investigate Every Property Before You Buy Any Land This Year by Whitehorse: 10:43pm On Apr 07, 2010
Lawyer,

I recently bought two plots of land in Badagry, just after the old toll gates. My brother inlaw who owns his own home in another area of badagry handled the whole transaction for me since i don't live in Nigeria. All i have right now is the receipt from the family i bought the plots from. I'm in the process of fencing the place right now.

Please is there a way i can get you involved in doing all the checks i should have done in the beginning? Also, i would it be possible for you to handle all the paperwork involved going forward?

Thnx alot.

Hi All,
I also stumbled across this thread; its rather interesting.

Well, i geuss i'll see how i can contribute, especially to the Cisco newbies. I'm CCNA,CCVP, CCSP, and work in the Oil industry in the UK. I'm presently (trying) to study for my SP CCIE. I worked in Nigeria till 2006 when i left the country, so i got most of my experience from there.

Like i said, i'll focus on the newbies, and over this weekend, i'll draw up a list of topics i'll post on, setting a foundation for deeper things. I'll post the topic list first, and you guys can let me know if its ok to proceed.

Neteevs,
Where you able to test your multicast scenerio? Below is a post i did about multicast on Sadikhov.com/forum

All,

For those that are interested, below is a simple way to test and/or learn more about how multicast works on Cisco routers.

Setup a test bed as illustrated (or something similar) in the pdf file in the zip file attached. My router configs are also included.

Now download the Windows Resource tool kits from the Microsoft link below (you can also get it from the Windows 2003 server CD).

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9d467a69-57ff-4ae7-96ee-b18c4790cffd&displaylang=en

Install the Resource tools kit on both laptops. Also turn off your windows firewall during the test. Remember to turn it back on after the test!

From command prompt on each laptop, go to the path you installed the Resource kit, for example
D:\program files\windows resource kits\tools.

Now run the mcast.exe, which is the multicast generator/receiver. I have also included sample batch files I created to send and run multicast for my test. You can change various parameters in Mcast.

PS: I conducted the test using dynamips, and used to loopback interfaces on my laptop to simulate having two laptops connected to the routers.

The sadikhov article can be found here http://www.sadikhov.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=167658&st=0&p=848275&fromsearch=1&#entry848275

Enjoy, and talk to you guys soon.
FamilyRe: Making Love Before One's Wedding by Whitehorse: 12:05pm On Sep 29, 2007
Hi All,
I believe its wrong to have sex before marriage. It destroys the trust that should exist in marriage. Statistics prove that people that cohabit (and have sex) before marriage have more failed marriages than those that dont. It cuts across religoius/ethnic divides.

I just celebrated my 1 year wedding anniversary this month. I and my wife did'nt sleep together before our marriage, and our love life keeps getting better and better. It does'nt mean we make love everyday, but when we do, its very good.

The most essential thing is trust, and deep inside you, you cant trust someone you have slept with. If you can do it, someone else can. Its as simple as that.

Just my two pence.
