As far as i'm concerned, the only governors that i know are doing well (at least by nigerian standard) is Fashola - Lagos, Amaechi- Rivers, and Sullivan-Enugu, my home state (yes, i know about the libido issue)

I'm very comfortable with the refurbished trains. Have any of you guys been on the London Underground? The trains i c the pictures looker cleaner and better than the current London underground.

I think Fashola should start making contacts across the east and middle belt and North for 2015. It will be very sad if the guy just goes into oblivion after 2015.

Nice question. I pondered about this before i had my first child and decided that my children will only have Igbo names, first, middle and surname.

Reasons:
My live outside Nigeria, and i want the children to have a cultural identity. - Names help in that sense

The days of trying to "blend" in with the host community by taking strange sounding names are gone. People feel (more) comfortable answering their native names

I the days were born, our parents were told that any name that was non english and not in the bible was more or less and sin and the child would not be baptised. lol. I'm a Christian, and as far as i'm concerned, igbo names have are Godly
E.g Chidubem --> God keeps/leads me.

I'm happy with the names my children have, let the Oyinbo ppl struggle to pronounce it.

In as much as we assume its Boko Haram, lets wait for the "official" claim of responsibilty. Might be Gaddahi (i know, long theory) angry for Nigeria being the first country in Africa (i think) to recognise the Libyan rebels as the legitimate government of Libya.

At the end of the day, GEJ has to take the blame. He's "supposed" to be the CinC, and the buck stops at his table.

We should be less tolerant as a people, and hold leaders accountable. If 1 million Nigerians wake up and start demonstrating for improved security, these leaders will sit up.

I think this is the make or mar point for GEJ; if he does not go all out now and contain, then eliminate these guys/terrorist asap, then i doubt if Nigeria will exist by 2015. Remember Rwanda anyone? It will be child's play compared to what might happen in Nigeria, if these thing is not contained

I understand what you are saying and it makes sense, in a way. But i dont think i'll spend N40mill just to buy land, then some other millions to build the house and then sell it, and then start the process all over again with another house.

I'd rather use that money for down payment here in the UK for a rental house, where someone else's rent will be servicing the mortgage (OPM, Other Peoples Money ). Less stress, more secure and "free money" (OPM).

Anywhere you money reach to buy land in Lagos, please buy, it will ALWAYS appreciate. I'd have loved to buy in Lekki, but my pepper no reach. . I be ordinary salary earner for UK. lol

Mowe-Ofada axis was getting crowded, and no plans to develop that Lagos Ibadan express road.

I chose badagry because of road expansion there, the rail line Fashola is putting in place, and i've seen the Lagos state plans for that axis. Its a gamble, but its worth a try.

One salient point that Spyder888 has made which we must NOT forget is that there is difference when you are building a house for yourself, and when you are building a house for investment purposes. Its two VERY different scenerio.

For example, @ Am Alone is building a luxury house for his PERSONAL use, and he wants to put everything HE considers top quality

@ Syder880 is also building for his PERSONAL use, and is putting what HE deems if fit for HIS purpose.

Now i'm building a house for my Dad in our hometown somewhere in Enugu state, i'm NOT going to spend 1.2M on the roof ! I wont live in the house, so why "waste" the money? Aluminum roofs will do.

I'm also planning to build houses for rent in plots of land i have somewhere in badagry where i was told the rent for 2 bedroom flat is about 100k per annum. Would i spend 1.2M for the roofing? I definitely WONT! Do you want me to recover my investments 100yrs from now? Abeg o.

Please lets remember the profit to earning ratio we got taught a few pages back. Lets build according to our income and durability.

PS: I live in Scotland, and there are 100-500yrs old houses up for sale here, people are living in them, banks provide mortgage to buy them, and they have not fallen apart because they are MAINTAINED.

Weather you use stone tiles, Zinc, Aluminum or even Nylon for roofing, you MUST maintain the house, else it will fall apart. Its that simple.

Assuming this election was rigged, why didn't the north also riot and plunder and kill in 2007 when Yaradua rigged like crazy?
