Chad is redeploying to the Cameroon side of Gwoza. This is to prevent Boko Haram from moving into Cameroon when Nigerian troops moves on Gwoza.

Forget all what u read in the papers. A few things are clear

1. Cameroon has absolutely no capability to defend themselves from BH, Chad is doing all their heavy lifting

2. Chad itself is in an existential fight; price of food has gone up in Chad cos of this fighting, also they need to protect their oil export pipelines that pass through Cameroon.

3. There is solid Intel cooperation b/w Chad and Nigeria in these maneuvers, though Chad is a loud mouthed country and wants to claim bigness by belittling Nigeria

4. After Gwoza, the "last stand" will be Sambisa, most likely after the election

5. If Chad+Cameroon+Niger fail to keep their borders tight, then BH will settle there and thoroughly destabilize them. Especially Niger

6. Nigeria will, in one form or the other, be fighting Terrorism/BH for at least the next 10yrs

Have they or will they (local hunters) hand over these weapons to the military? Things like that should not be in the hands of civilians...

I am so sorry to hear you say that. The information is however still there if one cares to look for it. And furthermore it is FASCINATING STUFF. As an oyinbo I do not know a great deal of it but have heard about the early Nok people, the Kingdoms of Mali, Benin, Songhai (OK some not quite fully Nigerian but touching on what is termed modern day Nigeria in places. My own fiancée (an Edo girl) was amazed that I knew the Yoruba gave her people their first King - Eweka 1st. All of this came just from my casual reading so imagine what some time spent in proper study would reveal!

Perhaps some people feel it MAY foster tribal differences but I suspect the exact opposite!

It was removed from the curriculum sometime last year with the excuse that there aren't enough trained history teachers. Can you imagine that rubbish? Is that enough reason to remove such an important subject?!?

In my secondary school we didn't have a history teacher, but I would make my way to the library and read all the history books I could lay my hands on.

Chei, Nigeria is breeding a generation that will not know jack about their identity. I remember the Benin Empire, Oyo Empire, Kanuri etc that we were thought. This was in the mid 1980's...

No wonder there are so many vacuous young folks these days...

And please, lets keep tribalism/politics out of this thread, every part of Nigeria has a rich history, we just do not know or care.

Really? History is no longer being taught? Why? Even though i ended up in engineering, i loved History and Geography.

Nigeria, indeed the whole of Africa is sitting on MONUMENTAL history, yet no one wants to take the stress of documenting it, probably because we do NOT pay attention to history or because it might not pay the bills...

Here in Scotland, i have been to Castles that are HUNDREDS of years old, some still standing, others in ruins. They are beautifully preserved and documented. I did some photos of it on old posts on my blog www.afrispheric.com

Documenting Nigerian and African history PROPERLY is something i'd really like to do FULL time, if one can break free of the regular 9-5 job runs. But for now, man got to pay the bills o.

Nigerians are a funny people. So you think Chad just decided to fly into Nigerian airspace? Which airspace? The place in question is a border town!

I really doubt if some folks are Nigerians, now that the heat has been turned on Boko Haram because Cameroon and Chad has decided to tow a bit more honest path, you are complaining that they "invaded" Nigerian airspace.

Just so you don't know, there is no way Nigeria can defeat Boko Haram unless Niger, Chad and especially Cameroon stop allowing them to use their countries as bases and transit point. Na wa o.

let me tell you guys two possible results and the final consequence

1. First Result possibility : Buhari's WASC result will miraculously appear with the number he stated. We will see that he did NOT get pass grades as expected by his principal or as stated by Buhari himself

2. Second result possibility : We never get to see any WASC certificate

End Result: The credibility of your principle has been totally shredded. Nigerians will NOT forget all the skullduggery, deceit and to an fro's involved in this saga and he will NEVER recover from it, make my words.

This is still the basis of his academic qualifications to run for the office of the president of Nigeria as as written and sworn under oath by Buhari himself. It is not his experience as some are saying. He did not swear under oath about basing his aspiration on experience. He said he has WASC.

Stop displaying ignorance.

The INEC rule was amended after 2011, requiring all contestants to produce any qualification/certificate they claim to have. It was not so before 2011. That's why this issue is out now.

Also, some are saying this is not a campaign issue. I laugh in Swahili.

For man that has based ALL [/b]this campaign strategy on being [b]Mr. Honest, Mr. Integrity, Mr. Corruption free, to be found to have LIED UNDER OATH, and to have STARTED HIS CAREER based on lie, it is a very big and valid campaign issue.
